"Thievery Corporation is a Washington DC-based production and DJ duo consisting of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton and their supporting artists. Their music can be characterized as downtempo/electronica with influences of dub, acid jazz, indian classical and brazilian styles fused together with a lounge aesthetic. Thievery Corporation is on the Eighteenth Street Lounge record label named after the swank DC club owned by Eric Hilton, but several of their singles and EP's appear on the 4AD and !K7 labels. In 2002, they released The Richest Man in Babylon on their ESL label. This fifteen track album is similar in sound and timbre to The Mirror Conspiracy and features performances by vocalists Emiliana Torrini, Pam Bricker, and LouLou. Indra, the third track from The Mirror Conspiracy, was featured in the opening shots of The West Wing season five episode Gaza and in an MTV(India) promo for the programme Non Stop Hits. The group also received support from Scrubs star, Zach Braff, when Braff used the title track on 'Lebanese Blonde (1998) on the soundtrack of his film Garden State. The Playmates were a late 1950s vocal group, led by the pianist Chic Hetti (born Carl Cicchetti, 26 February 1930), drummer; Donny Conn (born Donald Claps, 29 March 1930); and Morey Carr (born 31 July 1932, Waterbury, Connecticut). Signed to Morris Levy's Roulette Records in 1958, they released two notable singles — "Jo-Ann" and "Don't Go Home" — before having a surprise #4 hit (July 9, 1958) with the tempo-changing novelty record "Beep, Beep" - that became a regular spin for Dr. Demento. The "Beep, Beep" song was on the Billboard Top 40 chart for twelve weeks. Concurrently with this song, American Motors (AMC) was setting production and sales records for the Rambler models. Because of a directive by the BBC that songs do not include brand names in its lyrics, a version of "Beep Beep" was recorded for the European market replacing the Cadillac and Nash Rambler with the generic terms limousine and bubble car. They followed up with a chart listing single in 1959 with "What Is Love" and then again in 1960 with "Wait For Me". After four albums for Roulette, the novelty group — which was known for its between-song comedy and banter as much for its repertoire — broke up in 1964.

The Intruders were an American soul music group most popular in the 1960s and 1970s. As one of the first groups to have hit songs under the direction of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, they had a major influence on the development of Philadelphia soul. Formed around 1960, the group originally consisted of Sam "Little Sonny" Brown, Eugene "Bird" Daughtry, Phillip "Phil" Terry and Robert "Big Sonny" Edwards. In 1969, Sam Brown was replaced as lead singer by Bobby Starr, only to rejoin the group in 1973. In 1965, when songwriters and record producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff first contemplated leaving the Cameo-Parkway record label to risk launching their own label, the vocalists on which they pinned all their hopes and venture capital were The Intruders. Like many other subsequent acts the duo produced, which include the popular Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and The O'Jays, The Intruders had already developed a vocal sound that was both theirs and uniquely Philadelphian. Brown, Daughtry, Terry and Edwards had been recording and performing one-off singles together since 1961, blending Philly's street corner doo-wop tradition with black gospel fervor. The result was neither as pop-infected as Motown, nor as funky and blues-inflected as Stax. Dance music group from Hawick, Scotland & Newcastle, England. From 1994-2002. Their first album, 'Freedom' was released on December 2000 and reached number 5 in the UK Independent Chart. Freedom stayed in the Top 20 for 14 weeks. QFX covered the Moby track 'Every Time You Touch Me' which shot QFX straight into the UK Top 40 at number 22 in January 2001 giving the band their first UK Top 40 hit. 'You Got The Power' was released in July 2001 entering at number 33. They have had many additional songs entering the UK charts and also remixed additional songs for other artists including Gala with 'Freed From Desire RMX' - peaking at number 2 and spending 14 weeks in the UK Top 40 in November 2002. Black Moon is an American hip hop group, consisting of members Buckshot, 5ft and DJ Evil Dee (of Da Beatminerz). The group is most well-known for their debut album Enta da Stage, and their affiliation with the Boot Camp Clik. Black Moon (backronymed as Brothers who Lyrically Act and Combine Kickin Music Out On Nations) debuted in 1992, with the release of the single "Who Got Da Props?". The song became something of an underground phenomenon, and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. With the help of DJ Chuck Chillout, the group landed a record deal with Nervous Records and released their debut album, Enta da Stage, in late 1993. While Naul became famous for his singing ability among the people in music industry as he sang in his former group 'Anthem' in 1999, which the album itself did not acquire much success as far as their sales, Yoongun became known for his composing and producing ability in his former group 'TEAM' in 1999. This collaboration of these musical geniuses has so far released total of four albums including their best hit album 'The Very Best of Browneyes take a favorite'. Despite a high sales - each surpassing the 600 000 mark [1][2] - they never performed on the music shows. While people became curious about the duo, numerous rumors started to go around saying that there has been a conflict between the two and cause the split up. However, six years later, they finally reunited and released an album on the June of 2008.

They were backed by Silkworm, who later embarked on a solo career under the name King Britt. Digable Planets' fusion of jazz and hip hop received excellent reviews and solid sales with the release of its debut album, Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space), in 1993, which was certified gold by the RIAA. The album's lead single, "Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)," in 1994 became a crossover hit, peaking at #15 on Billboard magazine's singles chart, earning gold certification by the RIAA, and winning the Grammy award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
