The Erie BayHawks are a 2008-09 expansion team in the NBA Development League. The team plays its home games at the Louis J. Tullio Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The "BayHawks" name is a reference to Presque Isle Bay, on which the city of Erie lies. The hawk represents the city's wildlife and naval history, as the greatly respected birds were used by naval expeditions to send important messages. The team's colors of black, red, and gold pay homage the Erie-based Oliver Hazard Perry and to the naval uniforms worn during the American Revolution.

The Majority Owner of the Erie BayHawks is Steve Demetriou and Lead Local Investor is Owen McCormick. Matt Bresee is the team's President.

Logos and uniforms[link]

The official colors of the Erie BayHawks are black, gold, and red. The primary logo depicts a red and black hawk in flight with a gold beak and talons. The hawks is superimposed over a gold basketball and a partial, black ring with "Erie" rounding the top. The "BayHawks" wordmark is centered over the entire design in white, scripted letters.

Ivan Harris (born March 17, 1984)^[1] is an American basketball player. He is a power forward. He previously played pro ball in Finland and for the Erie BayHawks of the NBDL. During his senior year at the Ohio State University they were the runner ups in the 2007 NCAA Tournament.^[2] He stands 6'7" and weighs 215 lbs.^[3] Harris is from Springfield, Ohio but attended high school at Oak Hill Academy. He is known for his three point shooting.

During the regular season of 2007-2008 in Finland, he averaged 12.7 points per game with 41.8% accuracy in 3 point shots.^[1] In Eurocup he scored 12.3 points per game with a good accuracy of 47.8% in 3 point shots.^[4]

His team won the regular season with a winning percentage of 77.3% and played against Tampereen Pyrintö in the playoffs.^[5] He averages 15 points and 6 rebounds for the Erie Bayhawks

In college, Harris was nicknamed 'Microwave' for his "ability to get hot immediately."^[3]
