China Unicom Offering Free iPhone 4S with Contract
China Unicom Offering Free iPhone 4S with Contract
It has recently been announced that the third worlds largest carrier in the world will be giving away an iPhone 4S with a two or three year contract. We see discounted prices all the time for phones, if you buy them with a contract. But, we don't usually see high end phones like the iPhone free with a contract. Yes, free... Oddly enough I suppose that this is the companies way of trying to make more money. Doing the math, they do end up with a profit but, the profit doesn't seem to be high enough to leave room for mistakes. Thank you for watching. Please subscribe for more over iOS devices. China Unicom Offers Free iPhone 4S With Multi-Year Contract
China's second largest wireless carrier, China United Network Communication Group (NYSE:CHU) also known as China Unicorn, announced it would give users an Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 4s if they signed a multiyear service contract costing only $45 a month in some cases. The promotion starts January 13th and offers a 32-gigabyte model with a three-year plan. Meanwhile, a commitment to two years for a monthly fee of 386 yuan allows its users to get a 16-gigabyte model. China Unicom is one of only three of the nation's carriers that offers the iPhone with a contract, and is looking to capitalize on high end users who play games and watch online videos.

Tim Cook in China - China Take: Apr.04 - BONTV
Go to bon.tv to watch the full episode Last week Apple's current CEO Tim Cook became the first Apple chief executive to visit China, on a trip which saw him meet some of the country's top politicians. Vice Primer Li Keqiang told Cook that the government would strengthen intellectual property rights protection and continue to transform its economy, but he also called on Apple to consider expanding its operations in China -- particularly in the underdeveloped west of the country. As a report from independent auditors slammed conditions in many of the factories that supply Apple or assemble its products, Li also called for the company to ensure that workers' rights were respected and that Chinese laws were obeyed. After a slow start, when the PC ruled in China, Apple has become something of a cult here and rumors of Cook's whereabouts flew around the internet. He was spotted at one of Beijing's two official Apple stores and some microblog posts said he had met top executives at China's two telecoms giants - China Telecom and China Unicom.

HTC Releasing Three New "Desire" ICS Phones
HTC Releasing Three New "Desire" ICS Phones
HTC will be releasing a trio of new phones for the Chinese market. The three Android 4.0 phones are similar in design to the HTC One series, but have lower specs and are apparently branded as Desires; each is made for a different one of the big three Chinese carriers. The VT, made for China Mobile, runs on GSM and China's homegrown TD-SCDMA 3G. The China Telecom version, called the VC, will apparently have dual SIM card slots and run on CDMA. The China Unicom version of the phone, known as the V, looks to be the T328w we saw last month. It's listed as having dual SIM slots and Android 4.0 as in the original rumors. Besides Ice Cream Sandwich, all three phones are listed as having Sense 4.0, Beats Audio, a 4-inch WVGA screen, and a 5-megapixel rear camera. They'll also have a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, both rather modest compared to the HTC One line. The only price we've seen so far is that of China Unicom's version, which will apparently be sold for 1999 yuan ($317 US). From what we can see, HTC hasn't yet put these on its site, but they're supposed to launch in mainland China later this month. -www.theverge.com Subscribe to PlayInfinite at: www.youtube.com Make sure to check out our channel: www.youtube.com Follow PlayInfinite @ajune24 on Twitter: twitter.com Check us out on Google+: plus.google.com Our new channel focused on Gaming: www.youtube.com

Apple Expands 4S Sales in China
Apple Expands 4S Sales in China
Transcript by www.newsy.com BY REGINA C. WANG ANCHOR LAUREN ZIMA China Telecom might be the smallest of three mobile operators in China but it is now the second iPhone 4S carrier there. China Unicom is the other. Apple's been very focused on China. The Wall Street Journal reports. "Apple's sales in China and Hong Kong totaled $12.47 billion in the fiscal year ended Sept. 24." Besides earning more profits, there might be another benefit for Apple to add another distributor in China -- happier customers. In January, large unruly crowds ended up egging Apple's flagship store in Beijing after they found out Apple had decided to postpone sales of the 4S. According to Bloomberg, Apple's expansion will be limited until it can China Mobile on board. "China Mobile Ltd., the world's largest carrier by customers, is now the only Chinese wireless company not offering the iPhone with a service contract." Apple has been trying for years to woo China Mobile. According to CNN Money, if Apple gets China Mobile, that would greatly expand Apple's market share in China. Katy Huberty, an analyst from Morgan Stanley, spoke with CNN. "Huberty estimates that once that happens -- perhaps as early as this fall -- iPhone sales in China could quickly grow to 40 million a year."
