The answer is the discovery of Jesus Christ. The main subject of all the Word is Jesus Christ. We all should know that the offerings and consecration of the High Priest are but types of the priceless multifaceted offering of Jesus Christ fully revealed in the NC. We pray to God for mercy and grace and we do so only because of Him. Only in the increasing knowledge of Christ can we find what we need for our purpose in life. Knowledge of Him is what is needed, no matter what the need. Paul said “….I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord.” Paul was declaring his withdrawing of his eye (especially his religious ideas shaped by man) from all other objects and fixing it on Jesus. Our help and purpose for living this day will come through the knowledge of Jesus Christ by fixing our eyes only on Him. PAUL SPEAKS OF HIS ONE GOAL IN PHILIPPIANS 3…. APPREHENDING JESUS CHRIST. Our objective is to look into the Torah to more clearly see Yahshua our Savior that we might with The Holy Spirit’s help apprehend Him who God has set before us that He might lay hold on us in the fullness of His Salvation Plan. The book of Hebrews begins with…“God who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things…”. SO GOD NOW SPEAKS TO US BY HIS SON THROUGH BOTH THE OC AND THE NC. AUGUSTINE WAS RIGHT WHEN HE SAID, “The Old is in the New revealed. The New is in the Old concealed.” And it is Jesus Christ only that can reveal the truth. It is not so much with a heady knowledge that we seek Him but with a hearty knowledge. …our concern is that a heady knowledge is cloudy…. like that first looking upon Joseph by his brothers and acknowledging him as the Viceroy of Egypt, but not realizing he was also their brother. Hearty knowledge looks upon Christ and recognizes Him, this is what we seek when we look into the Word. STUDYING TORAH IS FOR THE SINGLE PURPOSE OF APPREHENDING JESUS CHRIST….TO A GREATER DEGREE AS WE DETERMINE TO FOCUS UPON HIM AS WE EXAMINE THE WORD. A greater apprehending of the knowledge of Jesus Christ results in the seeing of the great Kingdom coming and the World for the vain thing that it is. We desire that excellency of knowledge of Christ Jesus as true Christians, to see Him as His faithful see Him, in the fullness of His stature…. a sight that exceeds beyond the eye of the religious body, so to speak,… to that eye of the soul. “Yea doubtless, and I count all (wonderful religious ideas) but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness of which is of God by faith: That I may know him and power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection out from among the dead.” A dog passes by the smell of drugs without notice until he is trained to its value. We see Christ with the natural eye of religion aligned often with our flesh,… like an animal sees gold and passes by, without apprehension of its value….so we pass over the Word without grasping the need for the greater knowledge of being conformed unto His death. Our one great need today is to fix our eyes on Him, to learn of Him, to comprehend by intense training by the Holy Spirit until His greatness permeates our thoughts with a willingness to yield to His Fathers will as He did. STUDYING TORAH IS ALL ABOUT DISCOVERING OR GROWING IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS CHRIST. HOW? Daily Meditation in the Word and prayers of consecration with eyes fixed upon Jesus Christ. The formula for eternal spiritual success is having Him as our quest…considering, desiring, loving, calling upon, hoping in, trusting in, conforming unto Him. James said; “..whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” The looking into the perfect law of liberty implies a greater knowledge or understanding of the Word to obtain liberty, an impression that causes one not to forget and more willingly conform to......
