DANCE ! ! ! Kel Assouf - Azawad
Kel Assouf was founded in 2006 in Brussels around an exiled tuareg musicians, Anana Harouna (voice and guitar). From the start Kel Assouf built its identity on two central ideas: promoting the tuareg culture as well as cultural encounters and mixing. The band is composed by musicians of 7 different nationalities, coming from Africa and Europe. Lead by Anana, the band toured through many festivals and concert halls of Western Europe, Eastern Europe and North Africa. Kel Assouf now presents its new album « Tin Hinane » which rounds up those years of stage. This album, produced by the label Igloo Mondo, is made of original compositions in Tamasheq (tuareg language) and spreads a message of peace engagement, unity between people, the construction of Africa and love. It has been selected by the french radio « FIP » quality label selection. Both the lyrics and the typical guitar play of Anana classify Kel Assouf in the new generation of tuareg musicians such as Tinariwen. The originality of Kel Assouf lies in their claim to multiculturalism and the universalism of their message on top of their tuareg identity.
