How Japanese deal with character balding: MCZ Tokido (Cap) vs EG Momochi (Toupe)
Lesson learned from video: Casuals between two top level Japanese players is far from anything "casual." Also, Momochi's Sagat doesn't have a toupe, he's on that rogaine. ------------------------- We are super excited to finally announce a new project that we've been working on for a bit! Cross Counter has teamed up with iam8bit and Level Up to bring you the LG Cup Street Fighter 4 HD Global Championship Qualifier in Los Angeles next Saturday, January 14th! If you haven't seen it yet, LG has released their new Nitro phone and has the exclusive rights to SF4HD. To celebrate its release, they are holding a huge tournament in Korea with qualifiers in both Japan and America. The American qualifier will be held in Los Angeles at the Belasco Theater (which you may remember as the venue for the most recent Capcom UMVC3 Fight Club) and the winners will win a trip to Korea to compete on TV! Level Up will be running the tournament and streaming the event and the twist is that there will be both a SF4HD tournament on the LG Nitro AND a SSF4AE2012 tournament on Xbox 360 with thousands of dollars in prize money up for grabs. And both tournaments, as well as the event, are free to enter. iam8bit will be producing the event which means you can expect a top-notch experience including swag, free food and drinks, DJs and more. Cross Counter will be sending gootecks and Mike Ross to host the event and entertain the crowd and stream monsters online. WHO: YOU, the Los Angeles-based fighting ...

Japanese Majora's Mask v1.1: Play-Altering Differences
--READ COMPLETELY BEFORE WATCHING-- After a few weeks of playing through the Japanese version extensively, and after a few days of capturing and editing footage, I have finally created an exhaustive video detailing the differences between Japanese MM v1.1 and US MM. Due to the sheer number of differences, I decided to split the videos into thematic parts. This part details the changes that alter the way in which you play the game. Some differences may only trip up beginners, while others may aggravate even the most experienced players. If you would like to see the other part, which deals with aesthetic changes, please see: www.youtube.com I would HIGHLY recommend turning on both Annotations and the Interactive Transcript. The Interactive Transcript, in particular, is invaluable tool, as it lists every version difference in text and highlights the difference that you are currently watching. Annotations are used to explain some things visually and also are used to give credit to the people of ZSR who have discovered other differences; this video would not be as complete without their commendable effort. There are a few things that I did not include in this video, mostly because they already exist in some shape or form on my Youtube account. CARS 3D Chuki Anime Lenticular Eyes from Disney CHASE package Pixar OEM 2 Toys Review
This cute and adorable Japanese diecast is 1:55 scale from Mattel toys. Chuki is a lovely Japanese news reporter from Disney Pixar film. Here we have two different Chuki cars. One with lenticular eyes and one anime type. Chuki was a minor character from the Disney Pixar movie Cars. She is only seen as the Japanese news reporter for the movie, discussing the whereabouts of the missing Lightning McQueen. By day Chuki is a reporter for OEM news, but by night she's the lead singer of the infamous rattle and roll band, "Grid Lock." She has fans all over the world and has received several musical award nominations for her signature tire-squealing vocals. Chuki made a cameo appearance in the background of Tokyo Mater episode called Cars Toon Mater's tall tales, reporting the news. How cute is this car? She has such an adorable face that make her one of my favorite Cars characters specially this Japanese from Chase with 3D lenticular eyes, she's very cute. She looks like a Japanese character from anime dolls. This vehicle is perfectly for little girls that love and enjoy the movie Cars. Chuki also made a minor appearance in Cars 2 on a billboard advertisement. But she does, strangely, appear in Cars 2: The Video Game as a playable and unlockable character. She is lightweight and surprisingly fast. The in-game description of Chuki identifies her as the on-screen toilet assistant, though it is unknown if this is true for the film itself. She also appears in the Cars 2 The Video ...

Koumajou Densetsu II: Stranger's Requiem Demo
This is the demo stage from Frontier Aja's sequel, Koumajou Densetsu II: Stranger's Requiem! [Video description updated on 2012-01-16, see below] Like its predecessor, this is a Castlevania-style game that uses characters from a series of overhead-style shooters known in Japan as the Touhou Project. You can definitely see the shooter-style action in this game, as well. The game itself was released during Comiket 79 in December 2010. There exists a trial version of the game which was hosted on Frontier Aja's blog; however, that blog (and most of Frontier Aja's website) seems to be down. As soon as I have an updated link for the trial and the blog, I will link them here. If you are looking to download the game's patches, as of 2012-01-16, Frontier Aja's main website currently hosts links to official patch locations. Those links are located at: aja-games.com However, you will find that these patches do not include the English and French language pack. This language pack was provided as a separate download. Frontier Aja's main website currently does not link to the language pack; however, the file is still available, from the same site that hosts the game's other patches: aja-games.xsrv.jp This language pack appears to be mirrored by other sites as well, but I'm not able to confirm that they match the file linked above. However, I can personally confirm that the above file is identical to the language pack I downloaded over a year ago. If file integrity is important to you ...

Hiragana Pronunciation: Japanese Alphabet Syllabary
Hiragana (平仮名, ひらがな or ヒラガナ, Hiragana?) is a Japanese syllabary, one component of the Japanese writing system, along with katakana and kanji; the Latin alphabet is also used in some cases. Hiragana and katakana are both kana systems, in which each symbol represents one mora. Each kana is either a vowel (such as a あ); a consonant followed by a vowel (such as ka か); or n ん, a nasal sonorant which, depending on the context, sounds either like English m, n, or ng (IPA: [ŋ]), or like the nasal vowels of French. Hiragana are used for words for which there are no kanji, including particles such as kara から "from," and suffixes such as ~san さん "Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms." Hiragana are also used in words for which the kanji form is not known to the writer or readers, or is too formal for the writing purpose. Verb and adjective inflections, as, for example, BE MA SHI TA (べました) in tabemashita (食べました, tabemashita? "ate"), are written in hiragana. In this case, part of the root is also written in hiragana. Hiragana are also used to give the pronunciation of kanji in a reading aid called furigana. The article Japanese writing system discusses in detail when the various systems of writing are used. There are two main systems of ordering hiragana, the old-fashioned iroha ordering, and the more prevalent gojūon ordering. The hiragana consist of a basic set of characters, the gojūon, which can be modified in various ways. By adding a dakuten marker ( ゛), an unvoiced ...

Japanese Tamagotchi Movie Digest (Movie Clips!)
Here is a SPECTACULAR overview of the events that occur in the Tamagotchi motion picture, "Eiga de Tōjō! Tamagotchi Doki Doki! Uchū no Maigotchi!?", in English, "Appearing on film! Tamagotchi - Lost Child in Space!?". This is mostly a collection of clips, mainly of important events of the movie. Tanpopo narrates, telling about the film's events. Swimmingchao, another YouTube member, promised to translate this as soon as he can. :) For now, here's a summary of the movie I wrote, much thanks to TamaTalk user Joepet for providing the information needed. ^_^ "Tanpopo is a young girl who is about to become an older sister, and is worried if she can handle such a responsibility. One day, when Tanpopo is about to deliver an item to her mother, a strange light appears in the sky... "On Tamagotchi Planet, Mametchi, who is also expecting a younger sibling soon, is trying out his brand new invention, the 'Forwarding Machine'. Memetchi and Kuchipatchi come over to watch, but due to Kuchipatchi biting into a toy hamburger, and the crazy events that follow, the machine's aim is set off course, and fires at Earth. Tanpopo, the human girl, suddenly appears in Mametchi's room. "Tanpopo is estatic to meet her favorite Tamagotchi characters, but worries about getting home. Luckily, Mametchi's parents agree to build a rocket to return her to Earth, as well as a special key to return her to the exact moment in time that she left. Tampopo, now eager of her stay on Tamagotchi Planet, gets a ...

Japanese Samurai
Samurai (侍?) is the term for the military nobility of pre-industrial Japan. According to translator William Scott Wilson: "In Chinese, the character 侍was originally a verb meaning to wait upon or accompany a person in the upper ranks of society, and this is also true of the original term in Japanese, saburau. In both countries the terms were nominalized to mean "those who serve in close attendance to the nobility," the pronunciation in Japanese changing to saburai." According to Wilson, an early reference to the word Samurai appears in the Kokin Wakashū (905-914), the first imperial anthology of poems, completed in the first part of the tenth century. By the end of the 12th century, samurai became synonymous with bushi (武士) almost entirely and the word was closely associated with the middle and upper echelons of the warrior class. The samurai followed a set of written rules called the Bushidō . Samurai teachings can still be found today in modern day society with the martial art Kendo, meaning the way of the sword.
