Hazard Communication Video, MSDS Safety
www.wumbus.com When working in the presence of hazardous substances, employees have the right to know what hazardous materials they are around and what their particular hazards are. This is usually accomplished through hazard communication training and MSDS training. A range of relevant hazard communication information is covered in this OSHA online training presentation including what your `right to know` is as an employee, an overview of the different categories of hazardous substances, all about the label hazardous materials need to display, proper hazardous chemical storage procedures, how to remain in compliance with OSHA hazard communication standard 29 CFR 1910.1200 and an excellent introduction to OSHA safety standards in approved labeling requirements, including: MSDS, NFPA and HMIS labeling formats.

Norma NFPA 704

Ammonium dichromate + pellets of mercuric thiocyanate
Reaction of ammonium dichromate and pellets of mercuric thiocyanate. Also called the "Serpents in the Grass" reaction. Much more exciting than the ammonium dichromate volcano. I AM NOT THE CREATOR OF THIS VIDEO. I uploaded this from one of my college profs, who posted a link to it. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MIX REAGENTS TO DO THIS. Even if I did, only trained chemists should be messing around with the likes of Hg, CN and (NH4)2Cr2O7. A simple Google search will reveal how toxic these things are. A post on another video like this adds the following: "Hg(SCN)2 is considered to be Level 3 of Health danger by NFPA 704(the max lvl is 4), where level 3 stands for: " Short exposure could cause serious temporary or moderate residual injury (eg, chlorine gas)." The reaction of Decomposion produces vapors of Hg, wich are very poisonous as well."

Hydrogen Combustion
This makes me feel a little better about setting things on fire, since it's a two-step process and not simply burning something because it ranks 3 on the NFPA 704 fire diamond. Plus, it burns much more quickly.
