They are young Palestinian men and women, citizens of Israel. They have been meeting for three years, imagining and planning their return to their destroyed villages. Project “Udna” or “Return” in English, aims to pass on to the younger generation awareness of the Nakba and create actual models of return. Descendants of the displaced from Iqrit are trying to return to their village. The Iqrit group pioneered the way for return and shows how you can realize the right of return.
A Short documentary about 3 generations of women from the depopulated village of Iqrit in Northern Gaililee.
These internally displaced Palestinian women discuss what the Right of Return means to them and how the young people are resisting by reoccupying their village.

Located in the Upper Galilee, 15 miles north of Acre, the Palestinian village of Iqrit spanned 25,000 dunams and counted approximately 500 residents in 1948. In November of that same year, the Israeli army invaded the village and vacated its residents, promising them that they could return in two weeks. The people of Iqrit, a small Christian Palestinian village in the Galilee in northern Israel, were forced out of their village in 1948, promised to return after two weeks, and have not been permitted to return to their homes despite a 1951 Israeli Supreme Court ruling, governmental promises, and Israeli ministerial committee recommendations.
For the past 67 years, the Iqrit community has been united in a struggle for the right to return and has been engaged in one of the longest peaceful, popular and legal struggles for justice the region has known. The story of Iqrit challenges not only the illusion of Israel as a democracy governed by laws, but also as a state which sees and treats its citizens equally.

In the end of October 1948 the IDF took the village Iqrit without any battle. After about a week, the inhabitants were told they have to leave, the pretext was security reasons, for two weeks only. They are not allowed to return ever since.
Even though the supreme court ruled in their favour, the government does not hold the decision.
A group of youngsters, 3rd generation refugees, have returned nine months ago.
In the same day Iqrit was ethnically cleansed, nearby Shiite villages (Nabi Rubin, Tarbikha) were emptied as well, towards Lebanon. This was part of a plan to have a strip along the northern border without Arabs, Arabrein in German.
To this day you have very few Arab localities along the border: Arab El'Aramshe, Bedouins (sometimes collaborators), Fasuta that were almost deported but allowed to stay, see Anoton Shammas' book, Arabesques, Reihaniyya, a Circassian village collaborating with the Zionists, and Jish, that was allowed to stay put after they begged to Josh Palmon, Shay and then Shin Bet. After a while the regime wanted still to kick the inhabitants of Jish out, this time to Argentina, and they tried to devise Mivtza Yohanan (named after a Jewish hero in the time of the revolt against the Romans, from Jish-Gush Halav). It did not work.
This is the great life of Non-Jews, Palestinians, in the "Jewish and Democratic" state, self proclaimed only democracy in the middle east.

Iqrit
Iqrit (Arabic: إقرت or إقرث, Iqrith) was a Palestinian Christian village, located 25 kilometres (16 miles) northeast of Acre. Originally allotted to form part of an Arab state under the 1947 UN Partition Plan, it was seized and forcefully depopulated by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and their territory later became part of the new State of Israel. All of its Christian inhabitants were forced to flee to Lebanon or the Israeli village of Rameh, after they were expelled by Jewish forces in 1948, and, despite the promise that they would be returned in two weeks' time, the villagers were never allowed to return. In 1951, in response to a plea from the Iqrit villagers, the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that the former residents of Iqrit be allowed to return to their homes. However, before that happened, the IDF, despite awareness of the Supreme Court decision, destroyed the previously Christian village on Christmas Day, 1951. Descendants to this day maintain an outpost in the village church, and bury their dead in its cemetery. All attempts to cultivate its lands are uprooted by the Israeli Lands Administration.

Checkpoint 303
Checkpoint 303 is a non-profit musical collective from the emerging Arabic and Middle-eastern underground electronica scene. The activist musical project was launched by Tunisian SC Mocha and Palestinian SC Yosh in 2004 and has secured an avant-garde position on the Arabic underground music scene (see also tunisian underground music and palestinian underground music). The non-commercial aspect of this musical project is a fundamental dimension of the band's work since it allows for creative freedom and the liberty to express activist opinions. Checkpoint 303's compositions are inspired by the ongoing conflict in the Middle-east and the suffering it causes to the civilian populations throughout the region.
Origin
The name Checkpoint 303 was inspired by the Bethlehem Checkpoint 300 (one of numerous Israeli checkpoints restricting and controlling passage between the Palestinian self-controlled areas and Israel). A co-founding member of Checkpoint 303 lives and performs field recordings in Bethlehem.
