With the Castro de Baroña as the central element of the story, we describe the unique culture of the "castros," which originated in what today is the autonomous region of Galicia, in northwestern Spain.
We go back in history to the Stone Age and compare the Galician settlements with those of England, Ireland, and Scotland, with particular attention to Stonehenge. Dolmens, burial mounds, and stelae reveal to us the evolution of the first inhabitants of Galicia.
The Celtic heritage was decisive in the culture of the castros. We move forward in history through the fortified castros influenced by the migrations from the south, by Mediterranean peoples such as the Phoenicians and Tartessians. Aerial photography and animated maps will show us the territory they lived in.
Through 3-D recreations and scenes with actors and extras, we will gradually reveal what their lives were like, what gods they believed in, and what enemies they faced.
The period of Romanization has left us examples of the art of the castro culture which reveal to us the most determinant features of their lives: stone sculptures that speak to us of their warriors; gold and silver work that show the level of refinement that they reached; and pottery, whose iconography allows us to discover their daily habits.
Despite their armed resistance to the Roman Empire, the people of the castros were absorbed and Romanized like so many other peoples, but their singularity persists for all time.

About Peter L. Stein:

Exploring the intersection of art, history and ideas, Peter spent three years creating in-gallery exhibitions and their online extensions at the Jewish Museum San Francisco, where he was also the content developer for its award- winning website. From 2003-11 he was Executive Director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the oldest and largest of its kind anywhere. Combining his passion for media-based stories with community engagement, the festival under Peter’s innovative curatorial direction was named by IndieWire among the top 50 film festivals in the world. Peter maintains an active career as a public speaker, conducting on-stage and broadcast interviews with prominent artists and authors in the Bay Area and nationally, and appearing himself on such programs as NPR's "Fresh Air" and "Weekend Edition." He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, and a third-generation San Francisco native.

Castro culture
Castro culture (Galician: cultura castrexa, Portuguese: cultura castreja, Asturian: cultura castriega, Spanish: cultura castreña) is the archaeological term for the material Celtic culture of the north-western regions of the Iberian Peninsula (present-day northern Portugal together with Galicia, western Asturias and north western León) from the end of the Bronze Age (c. 9th century BC) until it was subsumed by Roman culture (c. 1st century BC). The most notable characteristics of this culture are: its walled oppida and hill forts, known locally as castros, from Latin castrum "castle", and the scarcity of visible burial practices, in spite of the frequent depositions of prestige items and goods, swords and other metallic riches in rocky outcrops, rivers and other aquatic contexts since the Atlantic Bronze Age. This cultural area extended east to the Cares river and south into the lower Douro river valley.
The area of Ave Valley was the core region of this culture, with a large number of small Castro settlements, but also including larger oppida, the cividades (from Latin civitas, city), some known as citânias by archaeologists, due to their city-like structure: Cividade de Bagunte (Civitas Bogonti), Cividade de Terroso (Civitas Terroso), Citânia de Briteiros, and Citânia de Sanfins.

Castro
Castro is a Romance languages (Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Galician, and Filipino) word, originally derived from Latin "Castrum", a pre-Roman military camp or fortification (cf: Greek: kastron; Proto-Celtic: * *Kassrik; Breton: kaer, *kastro). The English-language equivalent is Chester.

Ted Hope
Ted Hope (born 1962) is an American independent film producer based in New York City. He began work as Executive Director of the San Francisco Film Society on September 1, 2012.
Hope has produced the first films of such notable filmmakers as Ang Lee, Hal Hartley, Nicole Holofcener, Todd Field, Michel Gondry, Moises Kaufman, Bob Pulcini, and Shari Berman, among others. In the early 1990s, Hope co-founded with James Schamus the production/sales company Good Machine, which he and his partners sold to Universal in 2002. That same year he co-founded This is That with his current partner Anne Carey, Good Machine's Head of Business Affairs Diana Victor, and his former assistant, Anthony Bregman.
Among Ted's twenty-three Sundance entries, are three Grand Jury Prize winners: American Splendor (2003), The Brothers McMullen (1995) and What Happened Was... (1994). American Splendor also won the FIPRESCI Award at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, the Critics prize at the 2003 Deauville Film Festival and was nominated for five Spirit Awards and one Academy Award. Hope has also produced two Sundance Opening Night selections: Nicole Holofcener's Friends with Money (2006) and Moises Kaufman's The Laramie Project (2002), which was nominated for five Emmys.

La Carreta
La Carreta (English: The Oxcart) is a 1953 play by Puerto Rican playwright René Marqués. The story follows a family of "jíbaros" or rural peasants that in an effort to find better opportunities end up moving to the United States (see Puerto Rican migration to New York).
The story is divided in three acts, each focusing on a specific location. The first act begins with the family preparing to move from the countryside to San Juan, capital of Puerto Rico, in search of a "better life". The second act takes place a year later in San Juan, specifically in La Perla slum, where the family has moved. The final act takes place yet another year apart, in The Bronx, New York, where the family has ended, looking for a better life.
A recent production of the play in Puerto Rico starred Johanna Rosaly in the role of Gabriela. It was performed on March 2009 in Caguas and Santurce in Puerto Rico and then in September and October in Mayaguez and Santurce. The show was produced by New Moon Productions and directed by Pablo Cabrera.

I Love
"I Love" is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Tom T. Hall. It was released in October 1973 as the only single from the album, For the People in the Last Hard Town. The song would be Hall's most successful single and was his fourth number one on the U.S. country singles chart. The single spent two weeks at the top and a total of 15 weeks on the chart. "I Love" was Hall's only entry on the Top 40 peaking at number 12.
References in popular culture
"I Love" was used, with altered lyrics, in a popular 2003 TV commercial for Coors Light.
The song was used in the film For No Good Reason.
"I Like", a parody version by Heathen Dan, was released on the 1983 compilation album The Rhino Brothers Present the World's Worst Records.

With the Castro de Baroña as the central element of the story, we describe the unique culture of the "castros," which originated in what today is the autonomous region of Galicia, in northwestern Spain.
We go back in history to the Stone Age and compare the Galician settlements with those of England, Ireland, and Scotland, with particular attention to Stonehenge. Dolmens, burial mounds, and stelae reveal to us the evolution of the first inhabitants of Galicia.
The Celtic heritage was decisive in the culture of the castros. We move forward in history through the fortified castros influenced by the migrations from the south, by Mediterranean peoples such as the Phoenicians and Tartessians. Aerial photography and animated maps will show us the territory they lived in.
Through 3-D recreations and scenes with actors and extras, we will gradually reveal what their lives were like, what gods they believed in, and what enemies they faced.
The period of Romanization has left us examples of the art of the castro culture which reveal to us the most determinant features of their lives: stone sculptures that speak to us of their warriors; gold and silver work that show the level of refinement that they reached; and pottery, whose iconography allows us to discover their daily habits.
Despite their armed resistance to the Roman Empire, the people of the castros were absorbed and Romanized like so many other peoples, but their singularity persists for all time.

About Peter L. Stein:
Peter L. Stein’s artistic career as a producer and presenter spans film, theater, television, museums, and online storytelling. During 11 years at PBS station KQED, he wrote, directed and produced a wide range of documentaries and series for national public television, garnering such prestigious honors as the Peabody Award (for his feature- length documentary "The Castro") and four Emmy awards for historical, cultural, culinary and environmental programs. Exploring the intersection of art, history and ideas, Peter spent three years creating in-gallery exhibitions and their online extensions at the Jewish Museum San Francisco, where he was also the content developer for its award- winning website. From 2003-11 he was Executive Director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the oldest and largest of its kind anywhere. Combining his passion for media-based stories with community engagement, the festival under Peter’s innovative curatorial direction was named by IndieWire among the top 50 film festivals in the world. Peter maintains an active career as a public speaker, conducting on-stage and broadcast interviews with prominent artists and authors in the Bay Area and nationally, and appearing himself on such programs as NPR's "Fresh Air" and "Weekend Edition." During 11 years at PBS station KQED, he wrote, directed and produced a wide range of documentaries and series for national public television, garnering such prestigious honors as the Peabody Award (for his feature- length documentary "The Castro") and four Emmy awards for historical, cultural, culinary and environmental programs. Exploring the intersection of art, history and ideas, Peter spent three years creating in-gallery exhibitions and their online extensions at the Jewish Museum San Francisco, where he was also the content developer for its award- winning website. From 2003-11 he was Executive Director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the oldest and largest of its kind anywhere. Combining his passion for media-based stories with community engagement, the festival under Peter’s innovative curatorial direction was named by IndieWire among the top 50 film festivals in the world. Peter maintains an active career as a public speaker, conducting on-stage and broadcast interviews with prominent artists and authors in the Bay Area and nationally, and appearing himself on such programs as NPR's "Fresh Air" and "Weekend Edition." He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, and a third-generation San Francisco native.

"Only in Miami" is a phrase that we often hear in the humid melting pot that is the Magic City. There are just certain customs and traditions that you would never witness past Broward county. Things that are truly unique to the Latin-infused culture that Miami has to offer.
Well, only in Miami would people fleece their kitchens of their pots and pans and wooden spoons, and congregate around a restaurant to celebrate the Miami Heat's amazing championship victory into the wee hours of night. When something big happens, such as the Florida Marlins winning the World Series, or when the universally detested Fidel Castro gave up power to his brother Raúl, La Carreta Restaurant in Westchester is the gathering spot for the local Miami community. Walk in past La Carreta's coffee window on a busy Saturday night and there's always a lively crowd talking, arguing and sharing stories! It is a microcosm of Miami culture: older people discussing politics, police officers on break, young men and women sharing an authentic Cuban meal, middle-aged bikers on Harleys, and the full spectrum of Miami characters: Cuban, Latin American, and American alike.
The restaurant itself is surely unique, but what we wondered was what draws a large community of people to celebrate at the same spot (especially since it's a chain) for these big moments?
Throughout the Heat's playoff run, the city has been on edge. Miamians wanted a championship so bad they could taste it. This was our year, and we were all confident that our team could do it.
But the one thing we could be sure of was that if and when they won, La Carretta on Bird Road would be flooded with people celebrating. The sounds of banging pots, honking horns and Spanish music blasting from cars would fill the streets and impromptu parades and conga lines would jam the sidewalks.
Last night, Miami did not disappoint! The Heat ended their glorious Finals run against OKC 4-1, and the Miami community did what it does best: jubilant unapologetic celebration.

Stohead is best known for combining a graffiti-based style with classical calligraphy to produce letters that are at once figurative and abstract. Under intense physical duress, he paints letters in individual strokes, using broad-tipped, traditional round-tipped or homemade instruments to achieve an expressive work recounting both invisible and raw emotion. His approach – which is ruminant yet harsh, extensive and stringent – recalls a type of performance art. By all means, Stohead describes his style as contemporary calligraphy and terms it Radicalligraphy, a designation that explains both his method and his upcoming solo show.

With the Castro de Baroña as the central element of the story, we describe the unique culture of the "castros," which originated in what today is the autonomous region of Galicia, in northwestern Spain. We go back in history to the Stone Age and compare the Galician settlements with those of England, Ireland, and Scotland, with particular attention to Stonehenge. With the Castro de Baroña as the central element of the story, we describe the unique culture of the "castros," which originated in what today is the autonomous region of Galicia, in northwestern Spain.
We go back in history to the Stone Age and compare the Galician settlements with those of England, Ireland, and Scotland, with particular attention to Stonehenge. Dolmens, burial mounds, and stelae reveal to us the evolution of the first inhabitants of Galicia.
The Celtic heritage was decisive in the culture of the castros. We move forward in history through the fortified castros influenced by the migrations from the south, by Mediterranean peoples such as the Phoenicians and Tartessians. Aerial photography and animated maps will show us the territory they lived in.
Through 3-D recreations and scenes with actors and extras, we will gradually reveal what their lives were like, what gods they believed in, and what enemies they faced.
The period of Romanization has left us examples of the art of the castro culture which reveal to us the most determinant features of their lives: stone sculptures that speak to us of their warriors; gold and silver work that show the level of refinement that they reached; and pottery, whose iconography allows us to discover their daily habits.
Despite their armed resistance to the Roman Empire, the people of the castros were absorbed and Romanized like so many other peoples, but their singularity persists for all time.

About Peter L. Stein:

Exploring the intersection of art, history and ideas, Peter spent three years creating in-gallery exhibitions and their online extensions at the Jewish Museum San Francisco, where he was also the content developer for its award- winning website. From 2003-11 he was Executive Director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the oldest and largest of its kind anywhere. Combining his passion for media-based stories with community engagement, the festival under Peter’s innovative curatorial direction was named by IndieWire among the top 50 film festivals in the world. Peter maintains an active career as a public speaker, conducting on-stage and broadcast interviews with prominent artists and authors in the Bay Area and nationally, and appearing himself on such programs as NPR's "Fresh Air" and "Weekend Edition." He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, and a third-generation San Francisco native.

About Peter L. Stein:
Peter L. Stein’s artistic career as a producer and presenter spans film, theater, television, museums, and online storytelling. During 11 years at PBS station KQED, he wrote, directed and produced a wide range of documentaries and series for national public television, garnering such prestigious honors as the Peabody Award (for his feature- length documentary "The Castro") and four Emmy awards for historical, cultural, culinary and environmental programs. Exploring the intersection of art, history and ideas, Peter spent three years creating in-gallery exhibitions and their online extensions at the Jewish Museum San Francisco, where he was also the content developer for its award- winning website. From 2003-11 he was Executive Director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the oldest and largest of its kind anywhere. Combining his passion for media-based stories with community engagement, the festival under Peter’s innovative curatorial direction was named by IndieWire among the top 50 film festivals in the world. Peter maintains an active career as a public speaker, conducting on-stage and broadcast interviews with prominent artists and authors in the Bay Area and nationally, and appearing himself on such programs as NPR's "Fresh Air" and "Weekend Edition." He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard University, and a third-generation San Francisco native.

Sinopsis
John William Cooke fue una de las figuras más destacadas de la izquierda peronista, el primer delegado de Juan Perón y líder de la resistencia peronista tras el golpe militar de 1955. Su compañera de vida, Alicia Eguren, amiga del Che Guevara lo acercó definitivamente a la revolución cubana en 1960, donde participó en la defensa de Bahía de Cochinos frente a la invasión norteamericana. Cooke regresó a la argentina en 1963 e intentó la fusión del peronismo y el guevarismo. Alicia y John participaron de la formación de grupos de apoyo al Che en su intento de regresar a Argentina vía Bolivia. John murió en septiembre de 1968. Escritora y poetisa, Alicia fue desaparecida en enero de 1977. Conducida a Campo de mayo y posteriormente a la ESMA , fue tirada en unos de los llamados vuelos de la muerte.

"Only in Miami" is a phrase that we often hear in the humid melting pot that is the Magic City. There are just certain customs and traditions that you would never witness past Broward county. Things that are truly unique to the Latin-infused culture that Miami has to offer.
Well, only in Miami would people fleece their kitchens of their pots and pans and wooden spoons, and congregate around a restaurant to celebrate the Miami Heat's amazing championship victory into the wee hours of night. When something big happens, such as the Florida Marlins winning the World Series, or when the universally detested Fidel Castro gave up power to his brother Raúl, La Carreta Restaurant in Westchester is the gathering spot for the local Miami community. Walk in past La Carreta's coffee window on a busy Saturday night and there's always a lively crowd talking, arguing and sharing stories! It is a microcosm of Miami culture: older people discussing politics, police officers on break, young men and women sharing an authentic Cuban meal, middle-aged bikers on Harleys, and the full spectrum of Miami characters: Cuban, Latin American, and American alike.
The restaurant itself is surely unique, but what we wondered was what draws a large community of people to celebrate at the same spot (especially since it's a chain) for these big moments?
Throughout the Heat's playoff run, the city has been on edge. Miamians wanted a championship so bad they could taste it. This was our year, and we were all confident that our team could do it.
But the one thing we could be sure of was that if and when they won, La Carretta on Bird Road would be flooded with people celebrating. The sounds of banging pots, honking horns and Spanish music blasting from cars would fill the streets and impromptu parades and conga lines would jam the sidewalks.
Last night, Miami did not disappoint! The Heat ended their glorious Finals run against OKC 4-1, and the Miami community did what it does best: jubilant unapologetic celebration.

Under intense physical duress, he paints letters in individual strokes, using broad-tipped, traditional round-tipped or homemade instruments to achieve an expressive work recounting both invisible and raw emotion. His approach – which is ruminant yet harsh, extensive and stringent – recalls a type of performance art. By all means, Stohead describes his style as contemporary calligraphy and terms it Radicalligraphy, a designation that explains both his method and his upcoming solo show.

CONSIGUE TODO LO QUE QUIERAS - EL PODER INTERIOR https://www.youtube.com/user/elpoderinterior Los Seres Humanos tenemos un enorme Poder Interior que nos permite conseguir todo cuanto deseamos si logramos conectarnos adecuadamente con él. Esta no es la negra que tiene tumbaó, no, esta es una que quiere tumbar al turista. Con mucha educación, con mucho tacto, como dijo castro, esta es una jinetera cubana educada, quizás con titulo universitario, sin chulo ni vestimenta estrafalaria, que comienza por una invitación de índole cultural, a un festival, a bailar, ...en este caso, el turista declino la oferta alegando que esperaba a otra chica.

Lamentablemente hemos olvidado la forma de acceder a esa fuente infinita de deseos que habita dentro de cada uno de nosotros ya que el entorno en el cual vivimos está diseñado especificamente para que vivamos en un mundo que muchas veces nos enseña a creer en que nada es posible .
A través de éste audio hecho con la más avanzada tecnología, se logra llegar a los más profundo de nuestra mente para sacar a la luz la energía que nos permite conseguir y hacer realidad todo aquello con lo que siempre hemos soñado.
Este audio es más que una simple melodía ya que gracias a la superposición de más de 30 capas de sonido, se logra engañar y atravesar las barreras de nuetra mente consciente, para acceder a lo más profundo de nuestra mente subconsciente que es donde se encuentran las llaves del éxito en nuestras vidas.
Para muchos esto es tan solo basura y fantasía, para otros esto es una enorme posibilidad. Finalmente tú decides en cual de los dos lados deseas estar.
