Tsavo is a region of Kenya located at the crossing of the Uganda Railway over the Tsavo River, close to where it meets the Athi River. It is a KiKamba word meaning "a place of slaughter", a reference to the murderous attacks of Maasai morani on Kamba people there. Until the British put an end to the slave trade in the 19th century, Tsavo was continually crossed by caravans of Arab slavers and their captives. Many of the victims dropped dead by the way and were eaten by lions. In this manner, some lions of Tsavo acquired a taste for human flesh. This might have contributed to the attacks by the two infamous Tsavo maneaters.

Matthew "Matt" Harding (born September 27, 1976), is an American traveler, video game designer, and Internet celebrity known as Dancing Matt for his viral videos that show him dancing in front of landmarks and street scenes in various international locations. Harding has since received widespread coverage of his travel exploits in major print and broadcast media outlets,[1][2][3][4][5] and was hired by Visa to star in their Travel Happy campaign.[6]
He is originally from Westport, Connecticut.[7] He began his game industry career working for a video game specialty store called Cutting Edge Entertainment. Harding later worked as an editor for GameWeek Magazine in Wilton, Connecticut, and then as a software developer for Activision in Santa Monica, California and then Brisbane, Australia.
Harding claims that a sarcastic joke about the popularity of shoot 'em up games led Pandemic Studios to develop the game Destroy All Humans!, on which he received a conceptual credit. Saying he "didn't want to spend two years of my life writing a game about killing everyone", he quit his job and began traveling, leading to the production of his first video.[8]
On 11 December 2008, Matt Harding sarcastically revealed at the Entertainment Gathering that the videos were a hoax and that he is an actor, not a game designer, and the videos were made using animatronic puppets and extensive video editing.[9] A month later, during the MacWorld convention, Matt revealed the "hoax about the hoax" and joked about the fact many people took it seriously and the outrage it caused. He also made it very clear that the videos he made were indeed 100% real.[10]

Where the Hell is Matt?[link]
Harding was known by his friends for a particular dance, and while video recording each other in Vietnam, his travel companion suggested he add the dance. The videos were uploaded to his website for friends and family to enjoy. Later, Harding edited together 15 dance scenes, all with him center frame, with the background music "Sweet Lullaby" by "Deep Forest". The original Song uses samples from a dying Solomon Islands language which was recorded in 1971 by a French ethnomusicologist at the Solomon Islands near Papua New Guinea. The song, "Rorogwela" was sung by a young woman named Afunakwa. According to the video "Where the Hell is Afunakwa" by Matt Harding, Afunakwa died in 1998.
The video was passed around by e-mail and eventually became viral, with his server getting 20,000 or more hits a day as it was discovered, generally country by country due to language barriers, before the launch of major video upload sites.
Harding created a second version of the video in 2006, with additional dancing scenes from subsequent travels, called "Dancing 2006". At the request of Stride, a gum brand, he accepted sponsorship[11] of this video, since he usually travels on a limited budget.
Harding released his third dancing video on June 20, 2008. The video is the product of 14 months of traveling in 42 countries. The background music/song of this video is known as "Praan" composed by Garry Schyman and sung by Palbasha Siddique, with lyrics adapted from the poem "Stream of Life," a part of the Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore.[12]
As of August 2008, Harding is represented by Creative Artists Agency.[13] His videos are viewable on YouTube, Google Video, Vimeo and his own site wherethehellismatt.com. His "Where the Hell is Matt? (2008)" video has been watched over 40,900,000 times on YouTube since 2011 and Harding's YouTube channel is ranked "#83 - Most Subscribed (All Time) - Directors" as of December 22, 2010.[14][15]

On July 22, 2008 and again on July 25, 2010, NASA featured Harding's third video on their APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day) website, titled "Happy People Dancing on Planet Earth", making claim of humans worldwide sharing a common love of dance. The website states that "few people are able to watch the above video without smiling".[17] Harding himself has joked that he is impressed with this, especially since the video has nothing to do with astronomy, nor is a picture.

Music career[link]
Matt Corby began his music career at age 16 on the reality TV talent show series Australian Idol in 2007, which ultimately saw him place as the season's runner-up to Natalie Gauci. In 2009, he independently released his debut EP Song For... before relocating to London and signing with renowned UK indie label Communion after capturing the attention of the label's owner, Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons fame. Corby has previously been compared to legendary artists such as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley. After recording with Ian Grimble (The Libertines, Seasick Steve) and releasing his third EP, Transition to Colour in late 2010, Matt busied himself playing numerous live shows. Matt spent the earlier part of 2011 playing sold out shows in London and showcasing at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas in February before coming back to Australia to play a string of intimate 'Secret Garden' shows in fans' backyards throughout Australia. He soon after joined legendary UK band Elbow as the main support on their sold out national tour of Splendour sideshows in July.
Made of Stone was featured on an episode of Underbelly: Razor in 2011 and Brothers and Sisters. Lighthome was also used in an episode of Home and Away in 2011, as well as Song For... in 2012. He has since recorded a cover version of iconic Australian band INXS's "By My Side" for their Original Sin album (bonus track on the iTunes edition) and featured on a track on Julia Stone's debut album The Memory Machine and on UK singer-songwriter Passengers' title track "Golden Thread". After spending a few months writing, Matt spent most of September 2011 recording his latest EP, Into the Flame, with producer Tim Carr (Ernest Ellis). The EP "Into the Flame" showcases a new direction for Corby, including soul-influenced growling vocals along with a bluesy melody, coupled with Corby's signature folk style. The song has been called "lyrically raw and endearingly honest". The EP also features a duet with keyboardist Bree Tranter, previously of Australian band The Middle East. The EP is his first entry on the ARIA Charts when it reached number 46 on the ARIA Top 50 Singles Chart on 4 December 2011. It has since peaked at #3.[1] On its release date, Corby posted on his website and Facebook page:
"After 12 months of lots of ups and downs, I'm so excited to share this EP with you. I honestly felt like giving up music back in April but all of you inspired me again. It's been an incredible few months re-connecting with all of you in gardens around Australia. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support. It's been said by others before… but you guys really are the best fans ever. Let's stay close on this journey."
"Into The Flame" has since reached 3x platinum status in Australia, making it Corby's most successful release to date.[2] Matt is to support the release of his EP and single 'Brother' with a national 'Into the Flame' tour around Australia, many of which have already sold out, along with a mini 'Secret Garden' Summer Tour around NSW. In January 2012, Matt was named the 'Next Big Thing' and won 'Song of the Year' for Brother at FBi Radio's annual SMAC Awards in Darlinghurst, Sydney. He soon after premiered his own take of The Black Keys' song "Lonely Boy" on Triple J's Like a Version show with Tom & Alex, along with an acoustic rendition of his own song Brother. Both have since received significant attention online. Corby secured a support slot with Feist in Adelaide on her 2012 Australian tour. He is to tour throughout the U.S. and U.K. in the early part of 2012. He will also be writing and recording his debut album, which is due to be released later in the year. Corby's song "Brother" was voted into the #3 position for the Triple J Hottest 100, 2011.

Matt Nathanson (born March 28, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter whose work is a blend of folk and rock music. In addition to singing, he plays acoustic (sometimes a 12-string) and electric guitar, and has played both solo and with a full band. His work includes the platinum-selling song "Come On Get Higher".

Nathanson was raised in Lexington, Massachusetts. His father is Jewish and his mother is Catholic.[1][2] Nathanson attended Pitzer College in Claremont, California (majoring in English and world literature).
Music[link]
The members of his band have included Aben Eubanks on guitar, keys and vocals, later replaced by Aaron Tap. John Thomasson has been his bassist since 2004. Jason McKenzie was on drums until Fall 2006; Nick Amoroso on two tours from Fall 2007 through Winter 2008. Konrad Meissner is the drummer. Before 2005, Nathanson was often accompanied by cellist Matt Fish.

His album Some Mad Hope was released on August 14, 2007. The song "All We Are" was featured on the television series NCIS in the fifth season episode "Family," the first season Private Practice episode "In Which Charlotte Goes Down the Rabbit Hole," the One Tree Hill episodes "My Way Home is Through You" and "Forever and Almost Always". He was also featured on Women's Murder Club.
The ABC show Big Shots featured his song "Come On Get Higher," and the song "I Saw" was featured on Scrubs in the sixth season episode "My Best Friend's Baby's Baby and My Baby's Baby." Nathanson's song "Little Victories" was used on the Season 7 episode of Scrubs, "My Dumb Luck." On January 30, 2008, Nathanson and his band performed "Car Crash" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.[3] His song "Sooner Surrender" was used on the May 28, 2008 episode of Men in Trees, "New Dog, Old Tricks". Nathanson and his band performed "Come On Get Higher" on the "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on December 22, 2008.[4] The CW show The Vampire Diaries featured his song "All We Are" in the first season episode, "Family Ties" and Life Unexpected in second season episode titled "Parents Unemployed". The song was also on the fifth season episode ("Family", episode 2) of the CBS show "NCIS" His song "Bulletproof Weeks" appeared in the episode "Another Second Chance" of the TV series Private Practice on January 14, 2010.
On February 13, 2009, Nathanson and his band performed "Come On Get Higher" on the Late Show with David Letterman. On March 3, 2009, he performed on Ellen, singing "Come On Get Higher".
In March 2009, Nathanson was the special guest for Episode 17 of "Live From Daryl's House", Daryl Hall's monthly Internet concert. They, along with Hall's house band, performed (among other songs) "Car Crash", "Come On Get Higher", "Still" and "All We Are", as well as Hall & Oates classics "Did It in a Minute" and "One on One". Matt Nathanson's "Come On Get Higher" is featured on the CD "Circle of Friends - Dave FM: Volume 2," an Atlanta based radio station.

Matt Nathanson's cover of "Laid" by Manchester band James was featured on the American Wedding soundtrack, as well as American Pie Presents Band Camp.[6] Matt also covered the Prince song "Starfish & Coffee" for the children's album "For The Kids Too". Matt also performed a cover of Cat Steven's "The Wind" for the album "Wake Up Everybody".

Recorded and mixed in February/March 1993 in a house in Van Nuys, California. Most of the songs were written while Nathanson was in high school and a freshman at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. Before this, Nathanson had recorded only demos. This was his first collection of songs ever put on CD. Please was released in the spring of 1993.

Recorded in Nathanson's new hometown of San Francisco in the winter of 1997. An entirely acoustic record, the instrumentation is mostly acoustic guitar with some accordion, cellos and percussion . This record was mixed at Toast Studios in San Francisco, by Jaquire King.
[edit] Not Colored Too Perfect
This record is a compilation of unreleased material, the bulk of which was recorded in San Rafael, CA in the fall of 1997. Two other songs on this compilation, “You're Smiling” and “Wait Up” were recorded in Santa Barbara, CA in the summer of 1995. The final two songs, “Trace of a Cat's Eye” and “Vandalized” were taken from the unreleased record by Nathanson's college band Here Comes Everybody. The HCE album was recorded in Claremont, CA, in the spring of 1995 but was never released. Both these songs were written by the drummer in the band, Bill Foreman.

Recorded December 1998 in Cotati, CA. and January 1999 at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco, with Mark Weinberg. This record features David Immergluck & Charlie Gillingham of Counting Crows on tracks including the song "Loud," which was featured on the television show Dawson's Creek. The record was mixed at Different Fur in San Francisco and released spring of 1999.
[edit] When Everything Meant Everything
Recorded in the Winter of 2002, at Trakworx in South San Francisco. An entire album of songs was recorded but the release was shortened to an EP when Nathanson signed to Universal Records halfway through the mixing process. Studio versions of “Princess” and “Fall to Pieces” appear only on this EP. It was produced by Mark Weinberg and Nathanson and released in the fall of 2002.

Recorded in Los Angeles in the winter of 2003, the team included drummer Matt Chamberlain, guitar player David Garza, and Glen Phillips, of the band Toad The Wet Sprocket, for background vocals. "Lucky Boy," from Still Waiting for Spring was re-recorded for this record, as were most of the songs from the When Everything Meant Everything EP/sessions. It was mixed by Mark Endert in Los Angeles and released in October 2003. "Suspended" and "I Saw" were released as singles and more than half the record was licensed to television shows like Scrubs, Tarzan, One Tree Hill, Joan of Arcadia and Men in Trees.

Upon deciding that the major label world was not for him, Nathanson got out of his contract with Universal Records and released "At the Point." Recorded live over the course of 2 nights at The Point in Bryn Mawr, PA in June 2005, this is Nathanson's only live album. This record was released in April 2006 and debuted at #29 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart the week of its release.

Some Mad Hope was recorded between August 2005 and March 2007 in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Cotati, CA. The album was made independently, and Nathanson partnered with Vanguard Records for its release in August 2007. It debuted at #60 on the Billboard Top 200 and was on the charts for 34 weeks. Various songs on the record were placed on television shows including CSI, One Tree Hill, Private Practice, Melrose Place, 90210, Vampire Diaries, American Idol among others.[citation needed]
Singles included “Come On Get Higher" (peaked at #2 at Triple A, #9 at Hot AC, #3 at Mainstream AC and #19 at Pop), “Car Crash” (peaked at #12 at Triple A, and #29 at Hot AC), “Falling Apart (peaked #29 at Hot AC), and “All We Are” (peaked at #26 at Triple A).
Some Mad Hope has sold over 300,000 copies and “Come On Get Higher” went platinum selling over 1.8 million in single sales.

Nathanson's album Modern Love was released in June 21, 2011. The first single, "Faster", was released in March. Nathanson is the opening act for Kelly Clarkson's Stronger Tour as of January 13, 2012 to April 10, 2012 on selected dates.

Anthony "Romeo" Santos (born July 21, 1981) is an American singer, featured composer and former lead singer of the Bachata group Aventura. As a member of Aventura, Santos has been a key figure in popularizing Bachata, with hits reaching near the top of the Billboard Latin charts and the top of charts in Europe. In 2002, the band's song "Obsesión" was number one in Italy for sixteen consecutive weeks.[1]
Santos was born in The Bronx, New York, United States to a Argentinian father and a Puerto-Rican mother. At twelve years of age, he became a member of the church choir. While the group performs in both English and Spanish, their work was widely ignored by the English-language media during the early part of their career.[1] On May 9, 2011, Santos released his first single, "You", from his upcoming solo debut album, Formula.[2] The song became a number-one debut on the Hot Latin Songs and Tropical Songs chart.[3] The second single revealed from his album was "Promise" which features a duet with Usher.[4] The single has peaked at number #1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and number one on the Tropical Songs chart.[5]
