Black Book (film)

Black Book (Dutch: Zwartboek) is a 2006 Dutch World War II thriller film co-written and directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Carice van Houten, Sebastian Koch, Thom Hoffman, and Halina Reijn. The film, credited as based on several true events and characters, is about a young Jewish woman in the Netherlands who becomes a spy for the resistance during World War II after tragedy befalls her in an encounter with the Nazis. The film had its world premiere on 1 September 2006 at the Venice Film Festival and its public release on 14 September 2006 in the Netherlands. It is Verhoeven's first film made in the Netherlands since The Fourth Man, made in 1983 before moving to the United States.

The press in the Netherlands was positive; with three Golden Calves Black Book was the film which won the most awards at the Netherlands Film Festival in 2006. The international press responded positively as well, especially to the performance of Van Houten. It was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language, and was the Dutch submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2007, but was not nominated.

121 half-hour episodes were produced. Note that the first and third titles are for Garfield shorts, while the middle ones are for U.S. Acres shorts. There were Garfield Quickies and U.S. Acres Quickies which were short clip jokes based on gags from the strips. During the second and third seasons, the show also featured Screaming with Binky quickies in which Binky the Clown would scream his catch phrase and ruin an activity. The U.S. Acres Quickies and Screaming with Binky ended after season three (and were mostly removed in syndication), but Garfield Quickies lasted until the show ended.

Season 1 (1988)

The first and second seasons featured the theme song "Friends are There," written by Desirée Goyette. The closing credits for this season feature Garfield's face from a looking-up perspective against a pink background. All thirteen shows from this season can be found on the Garfield and Friends: Volume 1 DVD set. Also, during this season, many of the episodes aired out of order. This was corrected when the show went into syndication. With 13 episodes, this is the shortest season of the show.

The company provides competitive intelligence, market research, opinion mining and related consulting services for brand, product and service awareness tracking. The company also provides private polling services for media outlets, including U.S. News & World Report.

Black Book is privately owned by Clearwater, Florida-based Brown-Wilson Group.

History

Black Book was founded in 2002 by Doug Brown, who along with partner Scott Wilson founded parent company Brown-Wilson Group in 1997. In May 2005, they produced the first Black Book of Outsourcing, published by John Wiley & Sons, and produced an updated edition in 2008. In July 2009, Brown-Wilson Group and its Black Book subsidiary were purchased by Informa subsidiary Datamonitor. Brown-Wilson group eventually bought the rights to Black Book back from Informa.

Black Book's 2013 survey of top EHR vendors received coverage for declaring 2013 the year of the EHR vendor replacement, citing the 25% of respondents who replied that they were actively seeking a new EHR provider.
