The Sultans of Ping FC are an Irish band formed in 1988 by Niall O'Flaherty, Pat O'Connell, Paul Fennelly and Ger Lyons. The band's name is not a play on the Dire Straits song "Sultans Of Swing".[citation needed] Following a number of line up changes the band came to the attention of the UK and Irish music press, when the humorous pop-punk song "Where's Me Jumper" was released. After several other independently released singles, the band signed to Epic Records, through a deal organised by Rhythm King Records's Martin Heath. With Epic, the band released their debut album Casual Sex In The Cineplex, and its follow up Teenage Drug. Already a cult hit in the UK, by this time The Sultans Of Ping were also becoming popular in Japan, with many tracks gaining release in that market only. The latter album was called Teenage Planet Sexy War in Japan, and included the single "Michiko".

In 1988, they parted ways with Stock, Aitken and Waterman, and in 1989, Tim Lever and Mike Percy left the band to form careers as mixers and producers. The pair currently own and operate Steelworks Studios in Sheffield, UK.[9] As recordists, Lever and Percy have had more chart success than they ever did with Dead or Alive,[citation needed] writing and mixing number-one tracks from bands like S Club 7, Blue and Robbie Williams. In 1989, Dead or Alive, pared down to a duo of Burns and Coy, released the self-produced Nude, which featured the hit "Turn Around and Count 2 Ten". "Turn Around" was the band's biggest hit in Japan.[citation needed] It was followed up by "Come Home with Me Baby", which hit #1 in Brazil.[citation needed] The single was a US club hit, including #1 on the US dance charts,[7] but it failed to generate significant radio play, partially due to a reactionary attitude toward the song's seemingly casual attitude toward sex at a time when AIDS awareness was coming into the public consciousness. With his first real band Circle Of Hate he recorded a single for the label Mystic Records. A record label and music production company that was based in Hollywood, CA. In 1989 the band name was changed to Raisin 'Cain and made a mix of metal and punk-funk rock. In Circle Of Hate and Raisin 'Cain, Peter worked as a drummer. But in 1990, he joined forces with bassplayer Eggy Boon and formed the band Mr. Slammer and decides to sing. A band that would later become one of the most respected rock bands of all time at Den Helder. In first place the success was by no means limited to the north of Holland. But a casual appearance in the act for Golden Earring gave the quintet also a memorable tour and national reputation as support act for Barry Hay and his associates. Mr.Slammer retired after a long tour in 1998. Peter de Vries worked in 1998 with blues guitarist Mike Wit, when he contributed to the Christmas project in the youth center de Post Brug in Den Helder. Part 6 of this excellent interview. More phone callers and tickets, and Sam rips Bobcat Goldthwait and Howard Stern. There had been an ongoing rivalry and war of words between Stern and Steve Dahl for quite some time so that was where the mention during this interview started. Sam was also a regular on Howard's show (though I think he was always more comfortable on Steve's show and more defensive on Howard's show as the environment was more conflictive, more tabloid-ish in nature, and though still funny it was different from Steve's more laid-back and unstructured free-form type of show.) My guess is that this was also around the time that Howard was mad at Sam (and reamed Sam and John Bon Jovi on the air while inciting Stern fans to boycott both) for not showing up to a radio show where Sam was supposed to bring Bon Jovi along with him (there are clips of it here on You Tube so that's my guess as far as time-line goes.) Though Sam was right that no one did it like Steve & Garry, and of course Steve Dahl was really the first to pioneer the so-called "shock-jock" genre anyway. Howard's ego would never allow him to admit that fact, but it is true. Casual Sex? is a 1988 comedy film about two female friends who go to a holiday resort in search of the perfect man. It was directed by Geneviève Robert, and stars Lea Thompson, Victoria Jackson, Andrew Dice Clay, and Jerry Levine.

Casual Sex is rated R13 in New Zealand.

Plot

Stacy (Thompson) has a promiscuous past, and after learning of the AIDS epidemic she wants to find a guy whom she knows is clean, so she convinces her childhood friend Melissa (Jackson) to go to a health spa for singles. They received or bought a basket filled with condoms. At the spa, Stacy meets Nick (Stephen Shellen), a struggling musician, and Vinny, aka the Vin Man (Clay), an annoying Italian-American man from New Jersey whom she tries to avoid.

At an event called International Night, the men and women all take miniature flags and put them in plunger-shaped hats and then meet the person with the identical flag. After becoming upset over a bad experience at the flag party, Melissa threatens to return to LA. However, Melissa soon connects with a spa staff member, Jamie (Jerry Levine), who gives her her first orgasm. A confused Stacy returns to LA via the 2PM bus, not knowing that Melissa remained at the resort. Stacy repeats past behavior and brings Nick back to her apartment, however she soon realizes that he's a loser who is taking up all her space and that she actually doesn't really like him. She rents a pink Cadillac and returns to the spa, where Melissa tells Stacey about Jamie and Stacey is relieved. On the way back to LA, Stacey commiserates with Vinny over their disappointment with the spa experience and upon returning to New Jersey, he experiences some life changes.

After a period time, Stacey is shown at Christmas time opening the door and letting Melissa and Jamie in. As they come in, Stacy's now-husband, Vinny, her two young boys, and their dog come down the stairs. Reminiscent of an earlier joke involving an old man and a dog, Melissa and Stacy laugh as the boys attack Vinny and Jamie, Stacy says, "There's your boyfriend" Melissa replies, "So what, there's yours." Finally Stacy says to the camera, "Yeah, that's my boyfriend" and smiles then hugs Melissa.

The movie makes frequent use of breaking the fourth wall. The movie opens to the lyrics of Hot Hot Hot and closes with "(No More) Casual Sex" (Kid Creole song) by Kid Creole and the Coconuts. Rotten Tomatoes does not have a rating for the movie, but the 3 reviews it collected were all negative.
