YouTube Visual Arts- Time to Mobilize in #awesome2012!
WE NEED A VISUAL ARTS CATEGORY ON YOUTUBE THREAD-www.google.com - For the first time in history, artists from around the world are communicating with each other and learning from each other. - We can not only see each others work but often, we can see how the work was made. - The master artists of this generation are exhibiting their work on youtube right now. - This is unprecedented in history. Artists of the past have their work exhibited in museums and museums have overflowed with generations of masterpieces. Our generation has YouTube. Yes, it is a museum. Think about it. Even major museums are exhibiting on YouTube right now. The current generation of artists has more expressive possibilities of artistic media than generations of the past, and I think that we have carried on arts rich tradition. Here are 20 examples of what I consider to be, Master art work. Click on any of the annotated links and they will open in a new tab. But does YouTube fully understand the scope of what its created? That question will be answered in time. But as of right now there is no category specifically for visual artists. The closest three categories are howto and style, education and film and animation. Howto and style is dominated by make up tutorials, workout videos and fashion tips. The Education category does not mention the visual arts and that is especially scary in a time when so many schools have totally eliminated the arts from their curriculums. Film and animation is the ...

Merrill Kazanjians Video on this topic: www.youtube.com Merrill's channel www.youtube.com Forum Post www.google.com If you decide to make a vlog, post it as a video response to my video AND also do the same to Merrills original video. We need to get a large audience backing this up. Here at youtube, there is no visual arts category. This leaves thousands of art videos with no home. They are scattered across multiple categories like howto and style, entertainment, film and animation, and education. With this massive separation in the visual artists, many of the artists dont know one another. If we can build up a gathering and get more people to help respond, we can make something happen. We need to get the art community together. Art is what adds color to the world.

we need a youtube visual arts category.AVI
Hello youtube and greetings youtubers. You might not have heard of me, but that is not a problem at all. So hey, that is me you can see drawing right there. I am Thambark and i am a youtube member since 2009. i was inspired by the many videos responding to this video by Merrill www.youtube.com which you can open when you click the link. You can say that it started the "visual arts movement" on youtube. So i decided to make my personal response to the video and to involve myself in this discussion. Most people that i know don't know how to draw, which is very sad because art is something everyone comes across in his live, aware or unaware of it. And (if you take drawing as an example) it is not only outstanding fun but it can train your specific, visual and holistic thinking process, from which you can benefit in your everyday life. What does this have to do with youtube and where is the problem ? Now the main problem is not that there aren't enough sophisticated artists who submit tutorials for art or their own pieces from which you can learn of. The central problem is that it is hard to search for art because youtube doesn't provide a visual arts category yet and this simple fact will detain youtube's artists from sharing their knowledge and only a limited amount of their possible audience can be reached. And this is why i think why we need a youtube visual arts category. It would not only ease the possibility to share art worldwide it would really help to communicate ...

Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program, New York.
Visit us on www.Light-House-Films.com. Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program Promotional / fundraising video, New York, 2010. Since 1997 the Creative Classrooms Visual Arts Program (CCVAP) has promoted art and literacy in inner-city Catholic elementary schools. Administered by the Patrons Program which brings educational enrichment opportunities to selected schools, CCVAP fosters learning and creativity. It introduces students to the arts and engages them in creating, reflecting, discussing and writing about art. The program is not a mere add-on to classroom subjects. It is a powerful learning tool that provides students with visual, tactile, and aesthetic experiences that encourage hands-on learning and critical thinking. Consisting of five components, CCVAP includes everything from art instruction to teacher training to museum visits. CCVAP reaches over 10995 inner-city students attending Catholic elementary schools in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island. Its schools are 35% non-Catholic and 93% minority. Seventy percent of the students come from families living at or below the federal poverty level and over half are from single parent households. One hundred percent of Catholic elementary school students go on to high school, 99% of those who attend Catholic high schools graduate, and 92% of those go on to higher education. Tuition at approximately $3000 per child is the main source of revenue in the Archdiocese elementary schools. Robust art and music programs ...
