Got a new song from South Florida's Pangea Kidz. It's more upbeat than their famed song, "Jungle On My Neck" with a cool club kind of hip-pop feel. Listen and DOWNLOAD "What The World Needs Now", guarantee you enjoy it. Tweet
We are used to seeing our favourite DJs up there on a huge stage, rocking hard pushing, twisting and even slamming that cool thing called a DJ gear full of buttons and knobs in front of thousands of high-spirited punters. Somewhere deep in our thought we always wanted to know, what in the name of EDM god are they doing up there? Which sounds come out when they slam that button so hard? What kind of high pitched sound appears when they almost twisted their own elbow along with that poor little knob? Truth is, for some of us regular [...]
Starfucker brings back Josh Hodges' tribute to the hits, Sexton Blake Plays the Hits, from 2007. It's very Starfucker demo like - Starfucker without most of the electro frills - which was refreshing at times while seeming to lack at others. Hodges starts it off right, though, with a cover of Bruce Springteen's 'Hungry Heart.' Of all the songs, I never would've thought he could pull off The Boss's, but somehow he does with that light-hearted, raspy 'lectro guitar that bleeds well with his voice. The rest of the tracks, while pleasantly [...]

Mad Decent is a label that completely refuses to sit still. In the past few years alone they have jumped between Baltimore club, dubstep, and moombahton, but now it appears the next move for them is the bubbling world of trap inspired productions. The latest release on the Mad Decent Jeffree label is from producer UZ, who cranks trunk rattling beats placing him alongside peers like Lunice , Baauer , and Flosstradomus . The four track EP entitled Trap Shit 6/9 is available as a free download here , so pop this thing on and [...]

Ray Wylie Hubbard : Conversation with the Devil [ purchase ] While we are on the topic of progressive country songwriters from Texas with three names, I present Ray Wylie Hubbard, who collaborated extensively with Jerry Jeff Walker in the 1970s. You all can google up Mr. Hubbard's biography, so I am going to tell you how I discovered his music. I was walking home from work one evening in the mid-2000s, when I was living in Toronto. Over three years since their last visit, Phish returns to First Niagara Pavilion tonight, the Pittsburgh-area amphitheater where they've played a total of six shows. Originally known as Star Lake Amphitheatre, Phish first played Burgettstown on August 13, 1997 and treated fans to a one-time-only cover at that show (Elton John's Amoreena) and subsequent performances in 1998 (Bob Marley's Trenchtown Rock), 1999 (Pavement's Gold Soundz) and 2003 (Elvin Bishop's Fooled Around and Fell in Love). Chuckie takes on the Polluted Mindz single, "Ride My Beat," giving the electro-pop track his dirty Dutch spin. His remix injects a twisted and bouncy groove into a previously straight forward electronic offering. While not the edgier side we've seen from Chuckie of late, his latest remix effort provides animation for the dance floor, bringing the party yet again. "Ride My Beat" has been available on Beatport all week, so add his remix to your Chuckie collection now. Purchase: Beatport You just finished reading Polluted Mindz ft. Bayku - [...]
The complex math rock/angular indie/krautrock mix as embarked upon by New York's Turing Machine since 1998 came to an abruptly tragic end in November 2009. On the eighth of that month, 34-year-old drummer Gerhardt "Jerry" Fuchs was killed in a freak elevator-shaft accident in a building where he was attending a fundraiser. Understandably, surviving members [...]
The Bonnaroo YouTube Channel continues to grow with more videos from this month's festival added to the official page nearly every day. We're quite fond of ALO around these parts and we're happy to see the latest addition to the Bonnaroo Channel comes from the California natives. One of the band's best albums was 20072s Roses & Clovers, thanks in part to the hearty dose of rock and soul found on the LP's opening track - Maria. Check out ALO's performance of the tune at Bonnaroo 2012... ALO [...]
