January Kristen Jones (born January 5, 1978) is an American actress. She is best known for playing Betty Draper-Francis on Mad Men.

Jones was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Karen, who manages a sporting goods store, and Marvin Jones, a coach, gym teacher, and fitness director.^[1][2][3] She is named after January Wayne, a character in Jacqueline Susann's Once Is Not Enough.^[4] She has two sisters – Jacey and Jina.^[5]

Jones has had supporting roles in Anger Management (2003), Love Actually, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. In 2005, she appeared as a U.S. border guard's frustrated wife in the film The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada directed by and starring Tommy Lee Jones. In We Are Marshall (2006), she played the role of Carol Dawson, wife of football coach William "Red" Dawson.

She had the lead female role in the movie Love's Enduring Promise as a pioneer family's oldest child. Her character falls in love with a mysterious man who saves her father's life. She currently appears in the AMC original television drama series Mad Men as young suburban housewife and mother Betty Draper Francis. She is also known for her role as Cadence Flaherty in the 2003 comedy American Wedding, the third installment of the American Pie film series.

She appeared in the season 18 Law & Order episode "Quit Claim," playing a con artist who matches wits with Assistant District Attorney Michael Cutter, in which she is the lone surviving suspect connected to a real estate scam involving organized crime.^[6] She also appeared in The Boat That Rocked, a British film about offshore pirate radio in the 1960s, renamed Pirate Radio for North American release in 2009.

Jones was ranked No.82 on the Maxim Hot 100 Women of 2002.^[7] She appeared on the cover of "The Hot Issue" of British GQ magazine in May 2009.^[8]

On November 14, 2009, Jones hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live which featured the musical guest The Black Eyed Peas,^[9] giving a performance that was met with negative reviews.^[10]

In 2011, she starred alongside Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger in the thriller film Unknown, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra,^[11] and portrayed Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class.^[12]

In 2005, Jones won a Camie (Character and Morality in Entertainment Awards) for Love's Enduring Promise (2004) (TV).

In 2006, she won the Bronze Wrangler at the Western Heritage Awards for Outstanding Theatrical Motion Picture for The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005).

In 2008, she was nominated at the 14th Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for Mad Men (2007).

In a Season 19, Episode 4 of Inside the Actors Studio (airdate May 14, 2012), James Lipton asked Jones how she got her first name. Jones replied: her parents named her after a character in Jacqueline Susann's Once Is Not Enough.^[14]

She announced in Vanity Fair in 2009 that she has joined Oceana as a celebrity spokesperson, working to save endangered sharks.^[15] Jones dated singer-songwriter Josh Groban from 2003–06.^[16] Jones also dated Ashton Kutcher for a time.

Jones gave birth to a son, Xander Dane Jones, on September 13, 2011.^[17] She has not revealed the father's identity.^{[citation needed]} She is left handed.

John M. Slattery Jr. (born August 13, 1962) is an American actor and director, best known for his role as Roger Sterling on AMC's series Mad Men. He has been nominated for many awards, and has won two SAG Awards with the Mad Men ensemble.

Slattery was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to an Irish American family; he is one of six children.^[1] He was raised Roman Catholic.^[2] Slattery attended high school at St. Sebastian's School in Needham, Massachusetts. He later received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Catholic University of America in 1984.^[3]

Apart from his role as Roger Sterling, Slattery is also known for roles such as union organizer Al Kahn on Homefront; Senator Walter Mondale in the HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon; as political adviser Tommy Flannigan in HBO's critically acclaimed show K Street; guest appearances as Will Truman's brother Sam on Will & Grace; guest appearances as Michael Cassidy, Amy's estranged husband, on Judging Amy; guest appearances as politician Bill Kelley on Sex and the City; principal Dennis Martino on Ed; and college president Peter Benedict on Jack and Bobby. Donatella Versace (born 2 May 1955) is an Italian fashion designer and current Vice-President of the Versace Group, as well as chief designer. She owns 20 percent of the entire stock market assets of Versace. Her brother, Santo Versace, owns 30 percent. Donatella's daughter Allegra Versace inherited 50% of the company stock after the death of Gianni Versace, Donatella's brother and Versace's founder.

Early life and fashion debut[link]

Versace was born in the Italian city of Reggio di Calabria, the youngest of four children in her family. Her father was a personal financier to the Italian aristocracy. An older sister, Tina, died at the age of twelve from an improperly treated tetanus infection.^[1] In the mid 1970s, Donatella followed her older brother, Giovanni ("Gianni"), to pursue knitwear design in Florence, Italy. Donatella had planned to work for her brother as Public Relations, but she was more valuable to Gianni as a "muse and critic," according to Donatella during an interview with Vogue.^[2] Through her closeness to her brother's enterprises, Donatella plunged into the fashion world. A decade later, during the 1980s, Gianni launched a perfume dedicated to her, Blonde, and gave her her own diffusion label, Versus, which remains a well-known Versace inner line.

Family and residence[link]

Donatella and her former husband, American model Paul Beck, have two children: daughter Allegra (b. 30 June 1986), and son Daniel Versace (b. 1989). She is also the aunt of oldest brother Santo's two children, Francesca Versace, and Antonio Versace.

Donatella's deceased brother, Gianni Versace, had a large collection of homes worldwide that have since been sold, most notably his Manhattan, New York double-wide townhome, valued at over US$21,000,000. Donatella Versace does not permanently live at any one residence, but travels from one to the other.

Murder of Gianni Versace[link]

On 15 July 1997, outside the re-constructed Versace Mansion, also known as Casa Casuarina, in Miami, Florida, Gianni Versace was shot dead by Andrew Cunanan. A multi-continent search ensued for the suspected spree killer, but Cunanan avoided capture by committing suicide a few days after the death of Gianni Versace. In the aftermath of the highly publicized murder and manhunt, most of the Versace family (including Donatella) moved temporarily to a secluded private resort in the Caribbean, cancelling the Versace Spring-Summer 1999 Collection as well as their indirect operations of the company.

The official funeral of Gianni Versace was held in Milan Cathedral. More than 2,000 mourners attended the traditional Catholic service, which was also broadcast to millions of viewers worldwide. Among the many famous fashion designers and other celebrities in attendance were Giorgio Armani, Karl Lagerfeld, Diana, Princess of Wales, Naomi Campbell, Madonna, Courtney Love, Luciano Pavarotti, Carla Fendi and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, while Elton John and Sting performed a musical setting of the 23rd Psalm.

Heiress to the throne[link]

It was in 1997, while watching television, that Allegra Versace saw the familiar face of her uncle, Gianni, on the news station and found out that he had been murdered. Gianni had been the highest figure in the Versace Group, leaving no one to rule the vast network of clothing lines and branches of his company. His testament stated Allegra Versace was to receive majority inheritance and titles.

Allegra Versace inherited $700 million from her uncle Gianni on her eighteenth birthday. Allegra was also given Gianni's villa on Lake Como, and a large townhome in one of Manhattan's most affluent neighborhoods. To this day she stands to inherit the company, as her brother, Daniel, inherited Gianni's vast rare artwork collection (since sold). While the Versace Group is not as financially robust as it was in its earlier and peak stages, the Versace Group has publicly made clear that Donatella and Allegra Versace will hopefully bring a new face and attraction to the Versace label.

She has held cameo performances in many films relating to fashion and its industry, such as Zoolander. Also, in many other films, including the 2006 hit The Devil Wears Prada, the mention of "Donatella" is used sporadically. In the ABC series Ugly Betty a fictional character, Fabia, played by actress Gina Gershon, is a parody of Donatella.

The growth of Donatella and Versace[link]

Donatella is the first to use notable celebrities to broadcast her clothing into the world on the catwalk and other public media such as advertisements, instead of using unknown models.^{[citation needed]} Another member of the growing Versace success was Santo Versace S.p.A., Donatella's brother, who is also a fashion designer and the owner of Finanziaria Versace, an established Versace branch. Donatella soon proved to be the public relations giant within the Versace label and spread its name throughout Europe and most of the United States. Donatella chose to place some of her good friends, Lil Kim, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Demi Moore, in high esteem in the Versace advertising sector, making them and other A-List celebrities such as Beyoncé and January Jones the persona and image of Versace. Her popularity grew when she designed the famous Versace Green Dress, also known as the "Jungle-Dress", which was worn by Jennifer Lopez at the Grammys in 2000.

Promotion and success[link]

A year and three days after Gianni's death in July 1998, Donatella Versace mounted her first couture show for the Versace Atelier at the Hôtel Ritz Paris. She built her runway over the hotel's swimming pool, as her brother had done every season, though this time using sheer glass. She now oversees the production of a dozen collections each year, though these days, Donatella is just as famous for her celebrity entourage and glittering parties. Regular guests include Sir Elton John, Liz Hurley, Rakeem Young, Lucy Munn, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Kate Moss. Even Prince Charles attends Donatella's parties for the famous and elite throughout Europe.

Branching into other fields, the company has created the grand, luxurious Palazzo Versace resort on the Gold Coast of Australia. Another growing symbol of the Versace style, the world's tallest building, the Burj al-Arab, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), boasts a broad collection of Versace furniture and beddings in its expensive and lavish rooms.

Plans for the Palazzo Versace Dubai were announced in May 2005. Gianni Versace SpA, Sunland Group Ltd. and Emirates International Holdings have announced the Palazzo Versace resort to be constructed in the Arabian Bays on the Dubai Creek in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The second Palazzo Versace will boast a number of suites and luxury villas, including an exclusive spa. Official plans are to begin construction in 2006 and have the hotel completed sometime in the year 2008. The interior of the hotel will be furnished with various Versace collections. As Creative Director, Donatella will carry out final plans and design strategies for the hotel and resort compound. This will be the second Palazzo Versace hotel ever to be built, and the second hotel in Dubai to boast a wide range of Versace collections. In October 2002, Gianni and Donatella's most famously designed Versace clothing was displayed in a special exhibit of the historical Victoria and Albert Museum of London to be honored for extraordinary fashion success and symbolism worldwide.

In 2010, Donatella's charity work earned her a Do Something With Style Award nomination from the VH1 Do Something Awards. She was nominated for providing art supplies to children and creating a tote bag, whose proceeds will go to Starlight and the ONE Foundations. The awards show, produced by Vh1, is dedicated to honoring people who do good and is powered by Do Something, an organization that aims to empower, celebrate, and inspire young people.^[3]

Donatella has been regularly impersonated by Maya Rudolph on the American comedy skit show Saturday Night Live, which airs on the NBC network. In reality, Rudolph and Versace are good friends. She is also perpetrated as a highly publicized user of the Power-Plate.^[4]

Mariano Vivanco (born 1975) is an internationally renowned fashion photographer. Vivanco regularly shoots for many internationally recognized magazines, including Vogue Hommes Nippon, Numéro, Numéro Homme, i-D, Dazed & Confused, Hercules, Electric Youth, Details, GQ Italy, GQ Spain, Man About Town, Wonderland, Allure, Elle, as well as the Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese and Greek editions of Vogue.^[1]

Often in black and white, his portraits, nudes, and editorial work (in both mens and womenswear) apply the principles of pure photography; using simply light and shade, Vivanco renders visible the natural spirit of the sitter. Photographer Mariano Vivanco was born in Lima, Peru in 1975, and was raised around the world, including Peru, New Zealand, as well as the UK. He is the son to H. William Vivanco-Mackie, a highly noted geneticist scholar of animal reproduction and genetic improvement.

He studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Art, Australia, and started to photograph professionally in Auckland, New Zealand.

He subsequently moved to London in the year 2000. Vivanco got his start in the industry by making model portfolios, something he later turned into a book project, 95 Chapel Market. Within a few years, Vivanco was regularly shooting for magazines around the globe.

Mariano Vivanco got his start in the fashion industry by shooting portraits of models in London. After countless shots and gaining notice in the London fashion scene, he began to gain work for a new contact he made, the magazine Dazed & Confused.

In 2001, while working for Dazed & Confused, Vivanco met stylist Nicola Formichetti whom he worked with to shoot countless covers for the highly-esteemed British magazine.

Vivanco has also published seven books for the Dolce & Gabbana label: Calcio (2003), which was the first book of its kind to capture the emergence of the soccer superstar, Milan (2004), Nationale (2006) and Milan Family. In 2006, he was also asked to shoot the French rugby team for the Dieux Du Stade Calendar for 2007. David (2008), a print calendar for Dolce & Gabbana, and Ninety Five Chapel Market (2008). The recent publication, Uomini (2011), has received international recognition.^[7][8]. His most recent publication, "David Gandy by Dolce and Gabbana" reveals an intimate portrait of model David Gandys career and his close relationship with the fashion house Dolce & Gabbana (June 2011).

In 2007, Vivanco held his debut solo exhibition at the Print Space Gallery in east London, supported by Dazed and Confused. Here, he exhibited two innovative editorial stories produced for Dazed entitled Cult and Artist. His second exhibition followed quickly, this time in Milan's Gold Restaurant. Here, he exhibited his images of the model David Gandy for Dolce and Gabbana's 2008 calendar, which fused the classical ideal of Michelangelo's David with modern ideals of masculinity.^[9]

Later, in 2008, Vivanco published Ninety Five Chapel Market.^[10] A retrospective look at his first years in London, documenting the likes of Sienna Miller, David Gandy and Lily Cole to name a few, at the start of their careers.

Vivanco recently photographed Emma Watson for i-D magazine No.314 (Pre-Fal 2011). He also recently shot model David Gandy for the Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 11/12 Eyewear Campaign. Vivanco also photographed Rick Genest for the Thierry Mugler French fashion house revival in 2011. Vivanco, teamed with Nicola Formichetti and Lady Gaga produced a viral video titled "Anatomy of Change," featuring a remix of Lady Gaga's song "Scheiße."^[11] Later that year, Vivanco shot the pop chart-topping and fashion icon Lady Gaga for the British i-D magazine's Exhibitionist Issue, featuring clothing from the Thierry Mugler fashion house.^[12]
