Keri Lynn Hilson (born December 5, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, actress and record producer. She was born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, and spent most of her youth working with producer Anthony Dent, as a songwriter and background vocalist for several R&B and hip hop artists. By the age of 14, Hilson had secured a record deal with the girl group D'Signe, who later disbanded. She attended Oxford College of Emory University and Emory University in Atlanta, while she continued writing songs for artists, including Britney Spears and Mary J. Blige, with the production and songwriting team, The Clutch. In 2006, Hilson signed with American rapper and producer Timbaland's record label, Mosley Music. Her breakthrough came the following year after appearing on Timbaland's single "The Way I Are", which topped charts around the world.
Hilson's music style is generally R&B, hip hop and pop; womanhood, sexual intimacy and love are typical themes. Her musical influences come from her father's side of the family. Hilson's debut studio album, In a Perfect World..., was released in 2009, and debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 chart, eventually being certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album spawned the hit singles, "Knock You Down", "Turnin Me On" and "I Like". It also earned Hilson two Grammy Award nominations for Best New Artist and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Knock You Down". Her second studio album, No Boys Allowed, was released in 2010 and was considerably less successful than its predecessor; however, it included the single, "Pretty Girl Rock".
"One Night Stand" is a song by American recording artist Keri Hilson, taken from her second studio album, No Boys Allowed (2010). It features American R&B singer Chris Brown who co-wrote the song alongside Kevin McCall and Charlie Bereal, who also produced the track. The R&B and soul ballad was sent to radio as the third single from No Boys Allowed.
"One Night Stand" received a mixed response from critics, who praised both Hilson and Brown's vocals, but was criticized for being a "soggy duet". The song has appeared on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at number thirty two. An accompanying music video directed by Colin Tilley, premiered on March 24, 2011.
"One Night Stand" was written by Chris Brown, Kevin McCall and Charlie Bereal. In February 2011, Hilson told Rap-Up magazine that she was considering choosing "One Night Stand" as the next single from No Boys Allowed, after an outpouring of fan support. She said, "My fans are really liking "One Night Stand" with Chris Brown ... I have a lot of favorites, but the fans are wanting "One Night Stand." It’s going to be my urban single. Not going to be, but if we go with it, we'll go with that." The single cover was revealed on February 18, 2011, and shows Hilson wearing a pair of dark sunglasses, a sleeveless jacket and her No Boys Allowed necklace. The song was sent for urban airplay on March 8, 2011.
No Boys Allowed is the second studio album by American recording artist Keri Hilson. It was released on December 17, 2010, by Mosley Music and Zone 4 Records. On the album, Hilson has reunited with Timbaland and Polow da Don, who executively produced the album, as they did with her debut release. Hilson also worked with several other producers and songwriters, including Ne-Yo, John Legend, StarGate, Bei Maejor and Boi-1da, among others. Meanwhile, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Kanye West, J. Cole, Nelly and Timbaland, are serving as featured guest vocals. Musically, No Boys Allowed is an R&B album, which incorporates pop, soul, electro and dancehall into the songs.
Upon its release, the album has received mixed reviews from most music critics, and peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200, selling 102,000 copies in its first week. Although it sold 8,000 copies more than her debut album, In a Perfect World... (2009), it failed to match that album's debut chart position of number 4. No Boys Allowed also debuted on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at number 7, and at number 10 on the UK R&B Albums Chart. The album's lead single, "Breaking Point" was released in the United States on September 7, 2010 and peaked at number 44 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The second single "Pretty Girl Rock", was released on October 12, 2010, and peaked within the top ten on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the top fifteen in New Zealand.
A one-night stand is a single sexual encounter without an expectation of further relations between sexual participants. This is regardless of whether a single encounter was originally intended by either participant to be a one-night stand, or whether further relations between the participants subsequently arises. Critics of the practice describe it as "sexual activity without emotional commitment or future involvement".
A one-night stand can occur for different reasons, which vary between people. Examples of one-night stand participants include young adults exploring their sexuality; single people seeking to engage in sexual activity without any sort of commitment or relationship; or married people who desire extramarital sex without disturbing their marriage or family relationships through extramarital romantic relations. A one-night stand may be pre-planned, in which at least one of the participants intended for the sexual encounter to be a one-night stand prior to participating.
ECW One Night Stand (2006) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It was held on June 11, 2006, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, New York.
The main event was John Cena versus Rob Van Dam for the WWE Championship, which Van Dam won by pinfall after performing a Five Star Frog Splash following interference from Edge. The predominant match on the undercard was Rey Mysterio versus Sabu for the World Heavyweight Championship, which ended in a no contest after Sabu hit Mysterio with a Triple Jump DDT through a table on to the floor rendering both men kayfabe unable to wrestle, as a result, Mysterio retained the title. Another match on the undercard was Edge, Mick Foley, and Lita versus Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer and Beulah McGillicutty in a Hardcore Intergender match.
The build-up for One Night Stand occurred on both Raw and SmackDown heading into the pay-per-view, but build-up behind the scenes began several months earlier, as WWE was bringing back ECW full-time. The news that WWE was planning to bring back ECW was leaked in the middle of April as Vince McMahon decided to revive ECW as a full-time brand. Reports beforehand stated that WWE was prepared to bring back ECW immediately after WrestleMania 22. WWE opted to cancel its webcast Velocity and replace it with the new ECW program. The new brand was officially confirmed by WWE on May 25, 2006, with its debut show airing on June 13, 2006 on the Sci Fi Channel.
One Night Stand (2007) was the third annual One Night Stand professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and presented by Gilette. It took place on June 3, 2007, at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and featured talent from the Raw, SmackDown!, and ECW brands. The event was the final to announce each individual brand as co-promoters of the event during the introductory graphics.
The main match on the Raw brand was John Cena versus The Great Khali in a Pinfalls Count Anywhere match for the WWE Championship. Cena won the match and retained the WWE Championship after pinning Khali following an FU off a crane onto the arena floor. The featured match on the SmackDown! brand was Edge versus Batista in a Steel Cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship, which Edge won after escaping the cage.
The primary match on the ECW brand was Vince McMahon versus Bobby Lashley in a Street Fight for the ECW Championship, which Lashley won by pinfall after performing a spear. The featured matches on the undercard included Rob Van Dam versus Randy Orton in a Stretcher match and a Ladder match for the World Tag Team Championship between The Hardys (Matt and Jeff) and The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas).
