Liverpool 6-1 Brighton - Official Highlights and Goals | FA Cup 5th Round 19-02-12
Liverpool 6-1 Brighton - Official Highlights and Goals | FA Cup 5th Round 19-02-12
Three own goals helped Liverpool ease past Brighton to secure an FA Cup quarter-final tie against Stoke. Martin Skrtel gave the Carling Cup finalists the lead before Kazenga LuaLua levelled from 25 yards. Brighton's Liam Bridcutt put through his own net before Liverpool striker Andy Carroll made it 3-1. Two more own goals came from Bridcutt and Lewis Dunk before Luis Suarez completed the rout just minutes after missing a late penalty. It was a resounding victory for Kenny Dalglish's side ahead of next Sunday's Wembley date with Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final. Liverpool's trophy cabinet has been gathering dust for six years, but suddenly they find themselves within touching distance of an FA Cup-Carling Cup double after their biggest win since Dalglish returned to the helm last January. Almost 29 years on to the day, Brighton were back at the scene of their best-ever FA Cup victory - a 2-1 triumph at Anfield, on their way to the 1983 final. But the visitors found themselves behind in only the fifth minute when Skrtel, Liverpool's form player of late, took advantage of poor marking by Ashley Barnes from Steven Gerrard's corner to arrow a close-range near-post header past Peter Brezovan. Brighton had been here before. When the sides met back in September in the Carling Cup, Liverpool edged ahead thanks to Craig Bellamy's early goal before running out winners. thefa.com The FA Cup on Facebook www.facebook.com Follow us on Twitter tags "Liverpool 6-1 Brighton" soccer <b>...</b>

Britain's Best Breaks ~ Brighton & Hove
Britain's Best Breaks ~ Brighton & Hove
Visit our website and find some great holiday deals! britainsbestbreak.tv Welcome to Brighton and Hove, playground of the 21st century, a place where having a good time is a way of life, where decadence stretches back to the days of the decadent Prince Regent. These days, it's the City of Brighton and Hove. How grand, how grown up, how typically Brighton to give itself a double barrelled name and parade its gold chain to the world, before nicking behind the bike shed to strip down to its latex bikini once the sun has gone down. Brighton is famous for its antiques and the North Laine is second only to Tunbridge Wells in the area for a good bargain. But Brighton is also deeply contemporary and has learnt how to decorate with a little help from the gay community; it probably has a higher rate of Brabantia bins per capita than anywhere else in the South East - which means that it's a dream if you can't sleep for fantasising about interiors. If the rise in house prices mean that you can't buy a roof in Brighton any more, at least you can still afford the retro wallpaper.

Although organisers expected a crowd of around 60000 people, the event instead attracted an estimated 250000 who crammed the promenade and beach between Brighton's piers. Local police forced the event to end early amid safety concerns, overcrowding, and one death. After the music had finished and the crowd began to dissipate, traffic ensued throughout the Brighton area with many caught in traffic jams until the morning. In June 2005, Fatboy Slim filled the Friday night headline slot on the "Other Stage" at the Glastonbury Festival. In 2006, Fatboy Slim filled the Saturday headline slot at the Global Gathering festival, Long Marston Airfield in the English Midlands. EDL MARCH BRIGHTON 2012 .m4v
Sussex Police Press Release below A major police operation took place in Brighton today, Sunday 22 April, for a march and rally, and a counter-protest. The fifth annual March for England march, comprising some 140 people, set off from Surrey Street, by Brighton railway station, just after 12.30pm, to go to Victoria Gardens for a rally. Several hundred protestors and onlookers gathered along the route in Queens Road and in Church Street. There were verbal exchanges between marchers and protestors, and a considerable level of violence was directed towards the marchers, with missiles including bottles being thrown towards them and police. Attempts were made to obstruct the march at several points. The rally in Victoria Gardens ended and the marchers went north up London Road and into Trafalgar Street, from where they made their way to the railway station and dispersed by shortly after 4pm. They were escorted by a strong police presence including mounted officers, in order to ensure that there was no disorder. Two police officers were injured. The two male officers, both Constables, received head injuries when bottles were thrown at them. One of the officers was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for his injuries but was later discharged. Several police horses received superficial cuts and bruises when attacked by protestors. At this stage there have been no reports of damage to property, and no reports of injuries to any members of the public. There were three <b>...</b>

Nazi EDL/MfE Humiliated in Brighton: Sun 22 April 2012
REMEMBER THESE FACES!!! portsmouthnaziwatch.blogspot.co.uk Racist EDL front organisation the March for England [MfE] attempted to bring hatred and bigotry to the streets of Brighton on Sunday 22 April 2012. A tiny number of fake 'patriots' were heavily outnumbered by anti-fascists who made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that fascists are not welcome on the streets of Brighton. Police estimates reveal that by the end of the march the fascists only numbered a derisory 120, the anti-fascists numbered up to 1000 and lined the streets of their "march". The fascists had to hide behind police lines in fear at the anger of Brighton residents who did not want these far-right extremists bussed in to spread race hate on the streets of a peaceful, diverse and multi-cultural city. Whose streets? Clearly not the nazi EDLs!!!

Alan Partridge Brighton Book Signing
Alan Partridge Brighton Book Signing
Buy the book amzn.to Audio book amzn.to read by Alan himself. Audio book also available to download from iTunes bit.ly Journalist, presenter, broadcaster, husband, father, vigorous all-rounder -- Alan Partridge -- a man with a fascinating past and an amazing future. Gregarious and popular, yet Alan's never happier than when relaxing in his own five-bedroom, south-built house with three acres of land and access to a private stream. But who is this mysterious enigma? Alan Gordon Partridge is the best -- and best-loved -- radio presenter in the region. Born into a changing world of rationing, Teddy Boys, apes in space and the launch of ITV, Alan's broadcasting career began as chief DJ of Radio Smile at St. Luke's Hospital in Norwich. After replacing Peter Flint as the presenter of Scout About, he entered the top 8 of BBC sports presenters. But Alan's big break came with his primetime BBC chat show Knowing Me, Knowing You. Sadly, the show battled against poor scheduling, having been put up against News at Ten, then in its heyday. Due to declining ratings, a single catastrophic hitch (the killing of a guest on air) and the dumbing down of network TV, Alan's show was cancelled. Not to be dissuaded, he embraced this opportunity to wind up his production company, leave London and fulfil a lifelong ambition to return to his roots in local radio. Now single, Alan is an intensely private man but he opens up, for the second time, in this candid, entertaining, often deeply emotional <b>...</b>

Brighton 1-0 Newcastle - Official Highlights and Goals | FA Cup 4th Round Proper 28-01-12
A Mike Williamson own goal handed Championship side Brighton a place in the FA Cup fifth round at the expense of Premier League Newcastle. Will Buckley's 76th-minute shot struck the defender and looped over the helpless Tim Krul. Newcastle wasted good chances, Leon Best twice firing just off target when well placed and having another shot saved by Peter Brezovan. Yohann Cabaye had a shot charged down as Newcastle sought a late equaliser. With Newcastle's Senegal strikers Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse due to make early returns from the Africa Cup of Nations, Best and Shola Ameobi were keen to make an impression up front. Best almost made a perfect start when he found space on the edge of the box and his low drive flew narrowly wide. He wasted an even better chance in the 12th minute when Ameobi picked out Best, who headed over from six yards. The best opportunity of the first half fell to full-back Danny Simpson. He stormed into the box to latch on to Hatem Ben Arfa's clever pass but stabbed his shot into the chest of Brezovan. tags thefa.com The FA Cup on Facebook www.facebook.com Follow us on Twitter twitter.com tags Bolton 2-1 Swansea "Bolton 2-1 Swansea" chris eagles "Blackpool 1-1 Sheffield Wed" 1-1 Arsenal 3-2 "aston villa" "arsenal 3-2 aston villa" fa cup "fa cup" "the fa cup" "FA Cup" "Arsenal FC" "Aston Villa FC" Football Soccer Sports highlights goals goal amazing shot strike post penalty "robin van persie" rvp "van persie" robin van persie walcott
