Former Jesuit Church & Residence, Limerick
Reportage slideshow (June, 2011) of the (former) Sacred Heart Jesuit Church, Limerick, Ireland. This iconic building is situated at the Crescent, on O'Connell Street, Limerick, and was completed in 1868 and opened for public worship on January 27th 1869. The architect was William Corbett and the church is in the parish of St Joseph's. According to some reports, it was originally intended to be dedicated to St. Aloysius but when it was formally dedicated in 1869 it was called the 'Church of the Sacred Heart'. The façade of the church is Classical/Grecian in design and was renovated in 1900. There are no aisles in the church but the nave had two rows of pews. The nave was extended in 1919. The ceiling of the church is panelled with floriated ornaments in Stucco work. The high altar was designed by William Corbett and is made from 22 types of precious marble. On the floor around the high altar, there are the symbols of the four writers of the Gospels. The angel represents Matthew, the lion represents Mark while Luke and John are represented by the bull and eagle respectively. Some of the stained glass windows throughout the church show the letters 'IHS'. These letters are the first three letters of the Greek word for Jesus which is IHSOUS. In Latin the letters stand for Jesus hominum salvator which translates as 'Jesus, Saviour of men'. There are nine mosaics above the high altar. The central mosaic is of the Sacred Heart ascending in the presence of St Margaret Mary ...

A BRIEF HISTORY OF EXETER CATHEDRAL AD 909 Devon's first cathedral established in Crediton, seven miles from Exeter. 1046 Leofric appointed Bishop of Crediton and St Germans. 1050 See moved by Leofric from Crediton to Exeter. From 1050 until 1114, the cathedral occupied the large Saxon minster church that stood a few yards from the present West Front. 1114 Construction of the Romanesque (Norman) cathedral started on the site of the present church (it was two thirds of the length of this). 1133 Consecration of the Norman cathedral (at around this time the cathedral priests were able to evacuate the Saxon minster). 1170/80 Completion of the Norman cathedral. 1225 The first Dean of Exeter, Serlo, was appointed. Paisiello: Mass for Napoleon Coronation - Domine salvum
Napoleon prayed briefly and then gave the regalia he was carrying (hand of justice, sceptre, crown, necklace of the Légion d'honneur, sword) to the Grands dignitaires, during which the choir sang the Veni creator spiritus. At the end of this plainsong, the pope received Napoleon's religious oath. Pius VII then blessed the kneeling imperial couple with the triple benediction taken from the coronation rite of Rheims. The imperial couple then moved towards the high altar where they received the sacred coronation unction, on the forehead and on both hands. The mass proper then began, the choir singing the introit, the Kyrie, and the Gloria from the Coronation mass written by Giovanni Paisiello.

Twelve Keys
Basilius Valentinus, also known under the Anglicized version of his name, Basil Valentine, was a 15th-century alchemist. He was the Canon of the Benedictine Priory of Sankt Peter in Erfurt, Germany. It is alleged that this last work remained concealed for a number of years within the High Altar of thechurch belonging to the Priory. Such a story is quite feasible, since alchemists both before and after this era, deeming their works unfit for the age in which they were written, are known to have buried or otherwise secreted their writings for the discovery and benefit, as they doubtless hoped, of a more deserving and more enlightened age. Such manuscripts would very often not be discovered for several generations after the death of the author. His other works include The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony - The Medicine of Metals - Of Things Natural and Supernatural - Of the First Tincture, Root and Spirit of Metals - and his Last Will and Testament. Music Video featuring: My Darkest Hour by Scary Kids Scaring Kids. Album: My Darkest Hour. [(C) 2007 Immortal Records] .:Lyrics:. Let me up Let me out I am suffocating I can't live without This all behind me Is this almost over now? the longest night my darkest hour Where you will find me Pale, lost, and dying From the truth You left me at the altar My heart in my hand I am tired and broken Haunted by memories of The life you've stolen I am tired and broken You left me at the altar My heart in my hand (YOU LEFT ME!) In my hand... (YOU LEFT ME!) (AND I WON'T FORGET!) Let me out, let me out Lips are trembling as i cannot make a sound my love betrays me Is this almost over now? the walls caved in, the roof fell down And I am finally Tired of the lying And the cloud that follows you... You left me at the altar My heart in my hand I am tired and broken Haunted by memories of The life you've stolen I am tired and broken You left me at the altar My heart in my hand (YOU LEFT ME!) (AND I WON'T FORGET!) In my hand... (YOU LEFT ME WITH MY HEART.. IN.. MY.. HAND!) (I WON'T FORGET!) You left me breathless You left me scared But your arms have never kept me warm WHEN YOU WERE HERE! And now my only hope is to take back what you've stolen My life will go on without you... And now my only hope is to take back what you've stolen MY LIFE WILL GO ON WITHOUT YOU! You left me at the altar My heart in my hand I am tired and broken Haunted by memories of The life you've stolen You've stolen ...

HRH The Princess Margaret's Wedding (7)
And here they are at last before the High Altar (after something of a struggle to avoid it!). Tony was more or less frog-marched by those Hon. Corps of Gentlemen who preceded HM and Cookie through the choir. I think The Queen looks divine but Mummy says The Queen looks like one of those dolls on a stick you buy at the agricultural show. The Queen does make Cookie look slim, despite all the cod she had for breakfast. At 3:10 we see wicked old Uncle Geoffrey Cantuar. "Death warmed up" said Mummy but then she fell out with him after all that business with the so called 'headless torso' photos and all that. Don't miss his dishy Chaplain; the swarthy one on the right. I played "sardines" with him at the Goodwood house party in1958 and I never met anyone quite like him again (he was no sardine, I can tell you!). At 3:23 we see wicked old Uncle Cantab ignore the panting Veronique (lilac shantung) who's clutching her ribs poor thing, down with the stitch after her big run from St James Park. She still looks confused, not quite sure if she's at the right wedding. Now she's in a secure twilight home in Bournemouth and very happy because she hasn't had to share a room owing to Swine Flu (it went right through the place but Vera's fine; apparently she's auto-immune).

Chrisitian Mother Mary Tamil Song
Chrisitian Mother Mary Tamil Song - Vailankanni was a part of the parish of Nagapattinam, but as pilgrims began to pour into Vailankanni, it was raised to the status of an independent parish in 1771, and Fr. Antonio de Rozario the last parish priest of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Nagapattinam, was appointed the first Parish priest of Vailankanni. Nagapattinam had always been under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Bishop of the Diocese of Mylapore. During that period the Diocese of Mylapore was administered under the Portuguese 'Padroado' (patronage). Under the Padroado system, the king of Portugal in Europe met all the expenses incurred by the Diocese of Mylapore, which remained under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Roman Pontiffs. Until 1847 the priests of St. Franciscan Missionaries who had looked after the province of Goa and Mylapore also looked after Nagapattinam and Vailankanni. The Franciscan origin and ownership of the Shrine was also perpetuated, by giving the place of honor to two Franciscan saints, St. Anthony of Lisbon and St. Francis of Assisi, on either side of the miraculous image of 'Our Lady', on the High Altar until 1961. Besides the last parish priest, Miguel Francisco Fernandez, who was of the Franciscan order, controlled the parish of Vailankanni till 1889. In 1890 the parish was handed over to diocesan priests. Thereafter, the diocesan priests of the Diocese of Mylapore were in charge of Vailankanni. In 1952, when the new ...

Toledo, Spain
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Founded 7th century
Toledo (Latin: Toletum) is a municipality located in central Spain, 70 km south of Madrid. It is the capital of the province of Toledo and of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage as one of the former capitals of the Spanish Empire and place of coexistence of Christian, Jewish and Moorish cultures. Many famous people and artists were born or lived in Toledo, including Al-Zarqali, Garcilaso de la Vega, Alfonso X and El Greco. It was also the place of important historic events such as the Visigothic Councils of Toledo. As of 2007, the city has a population of 78,618 and an area of 232.1 km² (89.59 square miles).
Toledo once served as the capital city of Visigothic Spain, beginning with Liuvigild (Leovigild), and was the capital until the Moors conquered Iberia in the 8th century. Under the Caliphate of Cordoba, Toledo enjoyed a golden age. This extensive period is known as La Convivencia, i.e. the co-existence of Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Under Arab rule, Toledo was called Tulaytulah (Arabic طليطلة, academically transliterated Ṭulayṭulah).
On May 25, 1085 Alfonso VI of Castile took Toledo and established direct personal control over the Moorish city from which he had been exacting tribute, and ending the mediaeval Taifa's Kingdom of Toledo . This was the first concrete step taken by the combined kingdom of Leon-Castile in the Reconquista by Christian forces.
Toledo was famed for its production of iron and especially of swords and the city is still a center for the manufacture of knives and other steel implements. When Philip II moved the royal court from Toledo to Madrid in 1561, the old city went into a slow decline from which it never recovered.
Toledo's Alcázar became renowned in the 19th and 20th centuries as a military academy. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 its garrison was famously besieged by Republican forces.
Arts and culture
Toledo reached its zenith in the era of Islamic Caliphate. Historian P. de Gayangos writes:
The Muslim scientists of this age were not rivaled in the world. Perhaps among their greatest feats were the famous waterlocks of Toledo.[1]
The old city is located on a mountaintop with a 150 degrees view, surrounded on three sides by a bend in the Tagus River, and contains many historical sites, including the Alcázar, the cathedral (the primate church of Spain), and the Zocodover, a central market place.
From the 4th century to the 16th century about thirty synods were held at Toledo. The earliest, directed against Priscillian, assembled in 400. At the synod of 589 the Visigothic King Reccared declared his conversion from Arianism; the synod of 633 decreed uniformity of liturgy throughout the Visigothic kingdom and took stringent measures against baptized Jews who had relapsed into their former faith. The council of 681 assured to the archbishop of Toledo the primacy of Spain.
As nearly one hundred early canons of Toledo found a place in the Decretum Gratiani, they exerted an important influence on the development of ecclesiastical law. The synod of 1565–1566 concerned itself with the execution of the decrees of the Council of Trent; and the last council held at Toledo, 1582–1583, was guided in detail by Philip II.
Toledo was famed for religious tolerance and had large communities of Muslims and Jews until they were expelled from Spain in 1492 (Jews) and 1502 (Muslims). Today's city contains the religious monuments the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, the Synagogue of El Transito, Mosque of Cristo de la Luz and the church of San Sebastián dating from before the expulsion, still maintained in good condition. Among Ladino-speaking Sephardi Jews, in their various diasporas, the family name Toledano is still prevalent - indicating an ancestry traced back to this city (the name is also attested among non-Jews in various Spanish-speaking countries).
In the 13th century, Toledo was a major cultural center under the guidance of Alfonso X, called "El Sabio" ("the Wise") for his love of learning. The program of translations, begun under Archbishop Raymond of Toledo, continued to bring vast stores of knowledge to Europe by rendering great academic and philosophical works in Arabic into Latin. The Palacio de Galiana, built in the Mudéjar style, is one of the monuments that remain from that period.
The Cathedral of Toledo (Catedral de Toledo) was built between 1226-1493 and modeled after the Bourges Cathedral, though it

Sacred Marriage 2: The Refining Fire (How to Make a Great Rub)
We are all in the gutter, but some of us look at the stars-Oscar Wilde
They dream in courtship, but in wedlock wake…Alexander Pope
Because marriage, more than any other relationship, reflects God’s involvement with us and bears more potential to draw our hearts to heaven, it can more readily give us a taste of hell (Dan Allender & Tremper Longman III)
We all associate the image of fire with hell. And many marriages in American have gone through this fire of Hell. Whether the marriage ends or the couple stays together, marriage is seen by some as hell on earth.
The Apostle Peter was well acquainted with fire.
He denied Jesus while warming his hands over fire. Jesus questioned his love while fish were roasting over fire. In both cases he associated fire with a test. One he failed another he passed. I think that is why he wrote these verses in 1 Peter 4:12-13 (NLT):
1 Peter 4:12-13 (NLT) Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
1 Peter 1:6-7 (NLT) So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Fire is certainly viewed as destructive and dangerous. Fires destroy forests, but fires also lead to renewal. Fire burns away the dross surrounding certain metals and reveals the pure gold or silver. The fires of life can destroy our marriage, or, if survived, purify our marriage. The fires of our marriage can draw our hearts to heaven or leave us with the taste of hell.
In the movie Fireproof
Captain Caleb Holt (Kirk Cameron) is a firefighter in Albany, Georgia. His seven-year marriage to Catherine is falling apart. Neither one understands the pressures the other faces, and after a heated argument in which Caleb screams in Catherine's face, she declares she wants out of the marriage, and takes off her wedding ring.
While Caleb claims to his friends and co-workers that Catherine is over-sensitive and disrespectful, Catherine simultaneously claims to her peers that Caleb is insensitive to her needs and doesn't listen to her. Further catalyzing Catherine's motivation for divorce is Caleb's addiction to Internet pornography and a large sum of money ($24,000, to be exact) he has saved up for a fishing boat he intends to buy, ignoring the fact that Catherine's disabled mother is in need of hospital equipment that she cannot afford, and which insurance refuses to cover. Caleb tells his father John about the impending divorce, and John challenges Caleb to commit to a 40-day test called, "The Love Dare." Caleb reluctantly agrees to do the test, but more for the sake of his father than his marriage. Catherine initially sees through Caleb's half-hearted attempts to win back her heart, which deepens Caleb's frustration. But with his father's encouragement, Caleb continues with The Love Dare, and eventually makes a life-changing commitment to God, unbeknownst to Catherine.
The movie has some various twists but the end result is Caleb and Catherine realize they need each other, and at the end they renew their vows in an outdoor ceremony, this time as a covenant with God. Their marriage is FIREPROOF.
Marriage is a Covenant
Did you see your marriage vows as a marriage Covenant? Did both you and your spouse get married knowing you were making a covenant before God! You did, whether you realized it or not.
Definition: a binding and solemn agreement to do or keep from doing a specified thing; compact
We know of Covenants from the Bible. God put a rainbow in the sky as a covenant that He would never destroy the world by rain. He made a Covenant with Abraham, He made a Covenant with David, He made a Covenant with all who by faith believe in Jesus Christ. That Covenant was sealed by the blood and body of Jesus.
When we get married, we enter into a covenant before God. In a Covenant, you make a binding agreement to stay with this woman or man until they die. In that Covenant we also promise to do so and so.
Most people believe “Well, my husband broke his promise to love me, or take care of me or so and so, so it’s OK for me to break my promise to him.” Or, well my wife is no longer the person I married, so my vow does not apply.
WE draw a line in our marriage
“I’ll keep my end of the covenant as long as you don’t cross over this line.” I’ll keep my word as long as you don’t … … … But as soon as you do, that’s it, I’m out of here!
That would be OK if marriage

Bon Homme is the altar ego of Tomas Høffding from WhoMadeWho and Garbo.
On the soloalbum Tomas takes electronic pop to the boundaries of corniness.
- I stand with one foot out over the abyss while I stare down the pop deep. I can sometimes become a little tired of the prison, the "good taste", which can keep one from expressing themselves clean. Pure feelings and pure expression can be corny in many people's eyes, Tomas tells.
Through jam sessions with himself Tomas has created the music, while the lyrics has been partially 'outsourced' to various Danish poets. This results in an album with a high dense club sound, a splash of Pink Floyd and a wide range of themes and experimentation between music and poetry.

Matisyahu -- Fire of Heaven and Altar of Earth with lyrics
i didn't wrote this song didn't publiced this song. enjoy! lyrics Fire descends from on high in the shape of a lion Burn the sacrifice of pride and ride on to Mount Zion 2x Rub me the wrong way, taking the highway Rubbing sticks together but your fire's man-made Capitalize on hot air, soar like an airplane Yearn to rise in the sky quick high like cocaine False pride is suicide but you've got nothing to gain Babylon's buildings rise like flames Drowning in their champagne Explosion pulled the pin in the hand grenade Soul stain blowing up in your own domain Firecrackers ooh and ahh but they never maintain Fire's burning, flames are dancing, don't burn the house down low Heavenly fire only resides on an altar made from the ground Fire descends from on high in the shape of a lion Burn the sacrifice of pride and ride on to Mount Zion 2x One pair of eyes; but see two different things One person cries while the other one sings Walk around like everybody owes you something Take what you got, thank G_d for all that life brings The poor man has it all but not content with anything While the rich man's hands are empty but he's sitting like a king Fire's burning, flames are dancing, don't burn the house down low Heavenly fire only resides on an altar made from the ground Backpack's getting heavy, moving at a steady pace Carrying bricks on your shoulders and lead around your waist Making way, run in haste There's no time to tase what you ate We should be grateful, got a plateful Fire ...

Slayer - Alter of Sacrifice
Artist - Slayer Song - Alter of Sacrifice Album - Reign in Blood Songwriters - Jeff Hannaman, Kerry King Lyrics - Waiting the hour destined to die Here on the table of hell A figure in white unknown by man Approaching the altar of death High priest awaiting dagger in hand Spilling the pure virgin blood Satan's slaughter, Ceremonial death Answer his every command Death will come easy just close your eyes Dream of the friends you'll see Heavenly failure losing again Move on to a new form of life Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned Confronting the evil you dread Coalesce into one your shadow and soul Soon you will meet the undead (Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned Confronting the evil you dread Coalesce into one your shadow and soul Soon you will meet the undead) Enter to the realm of Satan! Blood turning black, the change has begun Feeling the hatred of all damned in Hell Flesh starts to burn, twist and deform Eyes dripping blood realization of death Transforming of five toes to two Learn the sacred words of praise, Hail Satan A gift of powers disposed upon you Use them when you feel the need Master the forces and powers of Satan Controlling the creature's instinct Drawn to the castles that float in the sky Learn to resist the temptation Watching the angels sift through the heavens Endlessly search(ing) for salvation

Sunn O))) & Boris - Altar (2006) (Full Album)
Altar is a collaboration album between Japanese doom band Boris and American drone doom duo Sunn O))), released on October 31, 2006 through Southern Lord Records. In addition to major players Sunn O))) and Boris, Altar also boasts an extensive roster of guest musicians/collaborators such as Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Joe Preston (Earth, Thrones, Melvins, High on Fire), Phil Wandscher and Jesse Sykes (both of Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter) as well as long time Sunn O))) collaborators TOS Niewenhuizen and Rex Ritter. This unusually even collaboration serves as a good starting point for people who want to either discover the dark soundscapes of Sunn O))) or get into Boris's more experimental side, due to its (relative) accessibilty.
