PTFE and UHMW Tape Demo
PTFE and UHMW Tape Demo
PTFE tapes come in many different types from glass cloth, skived, to non-adhesive. There are a variety of thicknesses and sizes available. They can be used in heat seal equipment, in machinery to reduce friction, high temperature applications, and as a non-stick surface area. UHMW stands for ultra high molecular weight poylethylene tape. It comes in 5, 10 or 20 mil thicknesses and has an aggressive acrylic adhesive. It can be slit to any size. Call us if you need a size you don't see on the website. UHMW tape is chemical and abrasion resistant and has an extremely low coefficient of friction. Materials slide freely over tape surface with no slip/stick tendency. High impact strength and shock absorbancy properties exist, as well. Outwears PTFE tapes many times and is a good replacement for PTFE tapes when high temperatures are not a requirement. Used as rub strips on conveyors, bearings, and other sliding surfaces. Use in chutes, hopper liners, dead plates, wear pads, guide rails, furniture, and drawer slides. Also meets automotive specs. The tape is clear and can come with a white or blue liner. Our UHMW tape is custom slit from log rolls so that just about any width you require can be provided. If you don't see the width you need, please call us for a quote. Please order carefully, because custom slit items cannot always be returned or may require a restocking fee. Samples can be sent out prior to ordering for testing in your application. hydrophilic (wettable) PTFE
hydrophilic (wettable) PTFE
PTFE is naturally hydrophobic, thus resulting in a nonwettable or bondable properties. PVA TePla America has a process for making PTFE hydrophilic or wettable, by using plasma technology to change the surface property of PTFE. Bonding, Wettablity, and printability is possible on PTFE or Teflon® with our process.
