Times-Picayune to Cut Paper to 3 Days a Week
Times-Picayune to Cut Paper to 3 Days a Week
The Times-Picayune, one of the nation's oldest newspapers, will no longer offer print editions seven days a week and instead plans to offer three printed issues a week starting in the fall. The change means New Orleans would become the largest metro area in the nation without a daily newspaper in the digital age. The changes announced Thursday were combined with similar moves at three major Alabama daily newspapers also owned by the Newhouse family group's Advance Publications. The Birmingham News, the Press-Register in Mobile and The Huntsville Times will switch to publishing three days a week as part of a new focus on online news. At all four papers, there will be unspecified staff cuts. All four papers will continue to publish continuously on their websites, and online access will remain free. Newspapers have struggled in recent years as consumers increasingly get their news online. Print advertising declined as the economy went into recession, and newspapers have yet to learn how to make online advertising as profitable as its printed counterpart. "For us, this isn't about print versus digital, this is about creating a very successful multi-platform media company that addresses the ever-changing needs of our readers, our online users and our advertisers," said Advance Publications' president of local digital strategy, Randy Siegel, in an interview with The Associated Press. "This change is not easy, but it's essential for us to remain relevant." Siegel didn't say how <b>...</b>

SONIC UNIVERSE Animated Adaptation Act 2 - Scourge: LOCK-DOWN
SONIC UNIVERSE Animated Adaptation Act 2 - Scourge: LOCK-DOWN
Apologies in advance! I've experienced some unforeseen technical difficulties, post-premiere deadline, but at least it has been resolved now - lesson learnt for next time! Nevertheless I really appreciate your patience. Here are my thoughts that I'd like to share with you all... This is it. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of the SONIC UNIVERSE fandom, a month long project in the making, this was something to be treated with a lot of TLC (tender-loving-care) as a Sonic fan. This video (one of the many successful 'animated adaptation initiatives' that I've produced so far) is probably the BEST I've ever done. It was made for the fans, it's made for the creators, it's made for the team who helped me out and it's made for me. I love comics and I love bringing them to life in this manner... It's so much fun and there is so much to learn from it. This video details my ability to animate, my experience in directing an already existing story and presenting it through an innovative media initiative, it demonstrates my passion and ability to voice-act for entertainment, and finally, the ability to incorporate music, sfxs and voice-overs together in a professional manner. Because of this achievement I am extremely proud of myself and I'm at the point of being very keen to making more animated adaptation videos in future to my most beloved comic & graphic novel series. As you can see, I'm here to not muck around, I want to show you guys a new way of appreciating this already <b>...</b>

Lonza Nutrition Case Study: NOW Foods
Lonza Nutrition Case Study: NOW Foods
Situation SGW was tasked with further developing the relationship between its client, Lonza, and Lonza's customer, NOW Foods. Historically, NOW has purchased Lonza's Carnipure™, a nutrition ingredient, for formulation into its consumer products such as drinks and supplements. Action After a brief audit of NOW's social media efforts, SGW saw an opportunity to design and implement a consumer education program based on NOW's nutrition products that incorporate Carnipure™, concluding with a mountain bike giveaway at the end of the program. Therefore, the as consumers learned the numerous health benefits of Carnipure™, any resultant sales directly benefited NOW, while strengthening its relationship with Lonza; the true goal of the program. An integrated four phase plan was designed to incorporate the following executions: 1. Develop an HTML email blast that drives recipients to the NOW Facebook page, promoting the contest, signups and Carnipure™. The blast would be distributed to a targeted list of opt-in consumers and health professionals. 2. Code, host and launch a custom HTML tab to house the contest on NOW's Facebook page. The contest provided information about NOW's products with Carnipure, as well as an entry form to sign up to win the mountain bike. 3. The program was supported and promoted by a series of creative and engaging status updates about the benefits of Carnipure and L-Carnitine.
