Orthopedic Surgery
Healthcare Heroes Episode 1011.1: Philip Sancken has enjoyed riding motocross competitions for years, but when an accident left him unable to walk, he went to Dr. Peter Simonian of Simonian Sports Medicine Center in Fresno for help. Philip knew his leg injury was far from ordinary and that hed need an orthopedic specialist to put his badly fractured leg back together. While it wouldnt be easy, Dr. Simonian knew he had to clean up debris in Philips knee and carefully piece back his broken bones with carefully placed screws. The surgery was a success and Philip left the hospital only hours after his surgery. While Philip knows his recovery will be a long one, he looks forward to getting back on his motorcycle when hes able.

Medical Animation - Heal: ghOst Production's 2009 Orthopedic Demo Reel
Instead of just editing together all of our client reels for the 2000 AAOS meeting, we decided it would be more fun to make a character animation, make him fall off a ladder, break nearly every bone in his body, and then fix him using all of the amazing technologies we've been involved with this year. Written & Directed by Stephan Kuslich Animation and Technical Direction: Nicolas Wiederhold Lead Character Animator: Jayson Slinger Art Direction and Additional Animation: Joel Erkkinen Rigging, Texturing and Additional Animation, Patrick Schwalbe Lighting and Rendering Mad Man: Matt Thelin Music Score: Rob Solberg

Orthopedic Surgeon, Albany GA for Herniated Disc & Other Issues
I'm Dr. Mark Wolgin, an orthopedic surgeon in Albany, GA specializing in orthopedic surgery (spine surgery) as well as surgery for the foot and ankle. I am a spine surgeon, but back surgery is always the last option I recommend since many other treatment options are typically available. Even issues such as a herniated disc can often be successfully treated by non-surgical methods.. If you have already seen a doctor I have an offer available on my website at www.drwolgin.com for a second opinion MRI review. When a new patient comes to me with back pain or neck pain I treat them as I would want to be treated. I start with a non-operative approach whenever possible, offering surgical care only when needed. If surgery is necessary I have a focus on minimally invasive techniques, where the surgery is done through small tubular retractors, without big incisions. In addition to surgery a number of other treatment options are available. These include a Physical Therapy and Fitness Program, Injections, Minimally Invasive Techniques and Non-Fusion Techniques. Of course any treatment option will depend on the needs of the particular patient, and the patient or an authorized family member always have final control over treatment decisions. I am also available to patients in and around Albany GA for a second opinion of an MRI. Please call for details. Your MRI will be reviewed, and then the impressions can be discussed in a follow up phone call. For any person interested in this offer ...
