Disney–ABC Domestic Television, also operating as ABC Syndication (formerly known as Buena Vista Television and also known as Disney Domestic Television and Disney|ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution), is the in-home sales and content distribution firm of the Disney–ABC Television Group, a division of The Walt Disney Company. Content distribution responsibilities include domestic television syndication, domestic pay TV, internet and cable video-on-demand (VOD), and pay-per-view outlets.
ABC's first syndication arm, ABC Films (established in July 1953), was spun off as Worldvision Enterprises in March 1973 due to fin-syn laws (which have since been repealed).
Disney–ABC Domestic Television was established in 1983 as Walt Disney Domestic Television Distribution. On November 5, 1985, the unit was incorporated as Buena Vista Television.
In April 1996, due to ongoing post Disney–Capital Cities/ABC merger realignment and retirement of its president, Walt Disney Television and Telecommunications group's divisions were reassigned to other groups. Hence BVTV, as a part of Walt Disney Television International, was transferred to Capital Cities/ABC.
Television is a telecommunication medium used for transmitting sound with moving images in monochrome (black-and-white), or in colour, and in two or three dimensions. It can refer to a television set, a television program, or the medium of television transmission. Television is a mass medium, for entertainment, education, news and advertising.
Television became available in crude experimental forms in the late 1920s. After World War II, an improved form became popular in the United States and Britain, and television sets became commonplace in homes, businesses, and institutions. During the 1950s, television was the primary medium for influencing public opinion. In the mid-1960s, color broadcasting was introduced in the US and most other developed countries. The availability of storage media such as VHS tape (1976), DVDs (1997), and high-definition Blu-ray Discs (2006) enabled viewers to watch recorded material such as movies. At the end of the first decade of the 2000s, digital television transmissions greatly increased in popularity. Another development was the move from standard-definition television (SDTV) (576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution and 480i) to high-definition television (HDTV), which provides a resolution that is substantially higher. HDTV may be transmitted in various formats: 1080p, 1080i and 720p. Since 2010, with the invention of smart television, Internet television has increased the availability of television programs and movies via the Internet through services such as Netflix, iPlayer, Hulu, Roku and Chromecast.
Domestic can refer to:

On September 1, 1987, The Coca-Cola Company announced plans to spin-off its assets of Columbia Pictures, which they had owned since 1982. Under this arrangement, Coca-Cola would sell their entertainment assets to Tri-Star Pictures, of which they owned 39.6%. Tri-Star would be renamed to Columbia Pictures Entertainment, Inc. (CPE), with Coca-Cola owning 49%, its shareholders owning 31%, and Tri-Star's shareholders owning 20%. A new company was formed in early 1988 with the Tri-Star name to take over the studio's production operations.

After Lifetime foolishly canceled "Debt" in 1998 despite its high ratings (something about the audience being MALE viewers on a FEMALE network), reruns of the show aired in syndication in select markets. Here's how the end credits would look like if Disney-ABC Domestic Television decided to plaster the Buena Vista Television logo from original episodes.
Made in Blender. Features a rainbow with pots of gold, chosen for its connection to traditional ideas about leprechauns. NBC (part of NBCUniversal) go green for St Patrick's Day, so maybe (Disney-)ABC should try something similar!
From "The Flintstones". NOW BEFORE WE GET TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS, SHUT THE F**K UP AND KEEP READING. "The Flintstones" was a classic 1960s animated series that was produced by Hanna-Barbera productions and Screen Gems, and it aired on ABC. See, ABC's current division for syndication purposes is Disney-ABC Domestic Television, and Sony Pictures Television owns all the rights to Coca-Cola Telecommunications, Embassy Television, and Colex Enterprises, and Screen Gems, also. So Sony Pictures Television and Disney-ABC Domestic Television would take part of this. And Hanna-Barbera is owned by TimeWarner, so Warner Bros. Television Distribution will take part. If all of these logos were intact on Flintstones reruns, this would be the combo.
