Aleph-Bet Video
This is a video I made for my (now ex) girlfriend when she wanted to learn Hebrew. I set it to Debbie Friedman's Aleph-Bet song. I touched it up so it looks nicer, because when I originally made it, I was working on it until 4 am, so I cut corners toward the end. Here is the "director's cut" if you will

Hebrew Alphabet (Just the Letters)
A quick introduction to the Hebrew alphabet, showing each consonant and each vowel and telling the pronunciation as you will hear it in American synagogues. I am part-way through another series that goes into more depth -- and yes, I will be completing that -- but I gather that some people just wanted it quick and dirty. So here's the entire alphabet in less than 10 minutes!

Bible Hebrew Alphabet
For use with Isaiah 53 series. I did this in a hurry, so it doesn't include vowel pointing. Everyone has a different opinion about how ancient Hebrew should be pronounced, so here I present mine. I maintain that the letters are mouth pictures telling you how to sound the letter. Frankly today's teaching of Bible Hebrew is fraught with shortcuts, and often you are given the modern pronounciation rather than the ancient, which of course is long disputed. Problem is, soundplay is often used in Bible's Hebrew, so if you get the sound wrong you miss what God had the author intend by playing on sound. Isaiah plays on sound a lot, as does David. Lots of soundplay in Genesis, too, and in Haggai. If you are serious about learning Bible you really should get BibleWorks software, because it has many learning tools alongside the original-language texts to make learning MUCH faster, whether in Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic (version 7 now has the Peshitta, I believe). Post-exile OT has a lot of Aramaic in it, and of course the LXX is Greek OT translated by Jews for Jews who didn't speak Hebrew anymore. The Lord and the apostles quote from both Hebrew and Greek texts, so it matters how those texts sounded and what the actual words were. You could spend three times the money, easily, for the material in BibleWorks software. I believe it's still $300 for the initial purchase at BibleWorks.com . Upgrades usually run $100-150 and you don't have to take them. At least, get Gesenius' Grammar, it's ...

Ancient Hebrew Alphabet - Lesson 2 - Beyt
The history and evolution of the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet, the letter beyt - ב. A chart of the Ancient Hebrew Alphabet is available through the Ancient Hebrew Research Center - www.ancient-hebrew.org Name The name of the second letter in the Hebrew alphabet is beyt. Beyt is a Hebrew word meaning house, home or household as can be found in Gen 7:1 - And Yahweh said to Noah, Come to the ark, you and all your house. Form 4000 years ago, this letter was written in several different forms, all representations of the outline of a tent. Much of the Hebrew pictographic alphabet, as well as its language, revolves around the agricultural lifestyle of the ancient Hebrews. In this form you can see the outline of the tent with the entrance here. This is the wall inside the tent that separated the women's side from the men's side, with the entrance into the women's side here. Meaning This letter represents the house, but also with and 'within' as the family resided within the tent, and also family. Sound This letter has ab sound as in bed, which sounds similar to beyt, or av sound when it follows a vowel as in the word stove. Vocabulary Some Hebrew words that begin with this letter are ba meaning come, which is spelled with the letter beyt and the aleph learned in the last lesson. Ben meaning son, binah meaning understanding and beriyt meaning covenant. Early form The ancient hebrew beyt can be seen in this inscription found at Serabit el-Khadim in the Sinai Penninsula ...

Aleph is a Hebrew word meaning ox as can be found in Ps 8:7 - all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, Form 4000 years ago, the Hebrew alphabet was written with pictographs. Hebrew-alphabet
The Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters and is called in Israel “Aleph Bet” or “Alef Bet” and it is where we get our alphabet from. Five of the letters appear in a different form at the end of a word.and are all consonants.
Hebrew is written from right to left. A vowel system called nikud has been added over the years but this is mainly used in school books and prayer books not in everyday hebrew text.
