Denniz Pop - ZTV Nytt special 98 (short version)
Translation: Narrator: Denniz Pop or Dag Volle as his real name was became 35 years old. He died the 30th of August this year after a long-time struggle against cancer. There's a lot about him to tell about both as a man and music-maker. Hopefully ZTV-Nytt Special will give you a small insight into the person, producer and the phenomenom Denniz PoP. E-Type: An old childhood friend of mine named David Hesselman whom I met drunk more or less at Sturekompaniet (STHLM nightclub) in the fall of 1993. And I told him, depressed, that first I've been fired by ZTV. (stumbling) I've been playing my demo-tapes for a lot of producers in the entire country being neglected by everyone. Then he told me he would set up a meeting with Denniz PoP and I thougt it was no chance of that. No problem, I work with him! So come over tomorrow at 3 O'clock and you´ll get 15 minutes of his time. I was incredibly nervous, and I brought my demo-tapes with me, so I got 15 minutes with the Great Master. Denniz PoP: I press a button here somewhere and a song comes out. It's like pressing a button on the typewriter and a book comes out. You must do everything... as much as you do everything in an R&B song you also have to do everything in a Eurodisco song... (i presume "everything" means the melody, the ...

Denniz PoP - Gimme Some Mo' (Bass On Me) (Mo' Bass Version) SweMix
Denniz PoP - Gimme Some Mo' (Bass On Me) (Mo' Bass Version) SweMix
Denniz PoP, real name Dag Volle, famous music producer who founded Cheiron, a studio in Stockholm which produced a number of hits and 90's marks. Before Cheiron he was part of SweMix, a DJ collective, who remixed hits for other DJs to make them more suitable for the dancefloor. Soon they started making their own songs by cutting with razor blades and using tapes. Before Dr Alban, Ace of Base, E-Type and later Backstreet Boys, he was a hyped up discjockey who loved what he was good at, make people dance to the music he played! This is one such tune a kind of sample-song, just like the popular Bomb the Bass song "Beat Dis" from 1987. However this is Denniz least favorite among his own. Congrats to a great first attempt and may your spirit live on in the wonderful music you created Denniz. Enjoy! Artist: Denniz PoP Label: Remixed Records (1988)
