Japanese Dialects and Norwegian Dialects
It's not a miracle that speakers of all the following dialects gather in my hometown - the Kyoto dialect, the Fukuoka dialect, the Hammerfest dialect and the Kristiansand dialect. (Plus, we added the Baerum dialect as a bonus track :p) The world is as colorful, you know. So I took videos of their speech to show my gratitude to the world. And here's the edited version of it! :) I know you wonder what they are saying in this video, so I wrote the scripts on my blog (osakadialect.blog116.fc2.com Enjoy!

TODAY IN HISTORY - Birthday of linguistic genius Ivar Andreas Aasen - 05 Aug 2010
Today, August 5, linguistic genius Mr. Ivar Andreas Aasen was born in Sunnmøre, Norway in 1813. After studying a variety of Norwegian dialects, mostly self-taught, Mr. Aasen created the written standard of Nynorsk (New Norwegian), now one of the country's two official languages. He also penned some of Norway's most well-liked folk songs. A center named in his honor was opened in his hometown and is devoted to showcasing Mr. Aasen's life and accomplishments. May the rich legacy of Mr. Ivar Andreas Aasen be found in the cherished first language of more than 600000 citizens of his native country.

You Raise Me Up - på Stavangersk
The complete wonderful Secret Garden, the Irish-Norwegian duo, who won the European Song Contest in 1995 is even more famous for their world-wide hit You Raise Me Up, recorded by some 100 global artist since it was first released in 2002. In 2004 I had the great pleasure to translate to my local norwegian dialect and sing this song in the most beautiful wedding of Heidi Østbø og Øyvind Asheim and many more weddings and also funerals as the song can be used as an optimistic friend blessing and thankful song in both happy and sad occasions. Since many people have seemed to enjoy thsi particular version I found out it was time to put this one on to the great music sharing place of YouTube. I wish to thank everybody for the great life I have had so far, and I wish all people out there every happiness and the best life possible. Share your love with as many you can every day and I believe you will have a wonderful time on this earth. You Raise Me Up!!!

Tarzan - Son of a man (Norwegian) S&T;
More Tarzan, OH YEAH! XD I just gotta say that this song.. *Sigh* It gave me a really headache, it was a freakin' hell to translate. No joke. And I actually think I manage to make meaningless sentences quite a few places. I'm so sorry for that, but I did really tried my best. The singer is ''Tor Endresen'', who's a quite well known singer here in Norway. Some of you might discover that he does his ''r''s in a more throaty way than most norwegians you hear. This is because he has a ''bergensk'' dialect (Which means his from Bergen xD) This is the same dialect that ''Sissel Kyrkjebø'' speaks (The norwegian ''Ariel'', well at least the original ''Ariel'') And I gotta say I ADORE that dialect! (I adore any dialect for that matter x3) So all that's left now is, well.. I guess it's enjoy my probably ununderstandable translation ^^

We Are One - Norwegian Dialect FanDub - MockingBird
PLEASE COMMENT! =^_^= Please tell us if it's believable and what you think of our pronunciation. We are two Norwegian girls and we love dubbing songs in different languages, especially languages we don't have any clue how to pronounce. It's a fun challenge, trying to get it as close as we can to correct pronunciation =^_^= But we couldn't resist singing it in our own language as well ;) In fact, this is sung in our own dialect =) You can hear quite a difference from this and the Norwegian version =^_^= Cast: Simba and Kiara by RionKingu Nala by Angelgirl Yes, we made our own "story" out of this song, and added Nala as the singer of half of Simbas lines =^_^= Lyrics: Simba: Du vil se langs liveds sti Dår e møye såm me ikkje fårstår Nala: Å d einaste me vett E at usikkårhed E liveds kår Simba: Men du vil og se At du he oss alle me Når du kjempe og kråppen blir trøtt Nala: Me vil våkna te dåd om du trenge te et råd Simba & Nala: Me e mærr enn du ser me e ett Kiara: Me så møye styr å stell Får eg vera meg sjøl Sånn så eg e? Kann eg stola på min sjel Elle e eg ein del Av planen her? Simba: Våre anår sjår ner Frå sinn plass i slektens tre For snart vil du vera beredt Nala: Du ska ud på ein ferd Visa fram ditt sanne verd Simba & Nala: Di e me legg av ste Me e ett Nala: Me e ett du å eg Å me vandre samma vei Når alle e me ed lett Simba: All den klogskab me har All den djervhed så d tar Simba & Nala: An e dinn om du ser Me e ett
