Jennifer Shrader Lawrence (born August 15, 1990) is an American film and television actress. She had lead roles in TBS's ''The Bill Engvall Show'' and in the independent films ''The Burning Plain'' and ''Winter's Bone'', for which she received nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Satellite Award, and the Screen Actors Guild Award. At age 20, she was the second youngest actress ever to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. She also plays Mystique in the ''X-Men'' series. In 2012, Lawrence achieved recognition starring as the heroine Katniss Everdeen in ''The Hunger Games'', an adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel of the same name. The film marked her as the highest grossing action heroine of all time and garnered her commercial success and notable critical praise. Lawrence's performances have prompted ''Rolling Stone'' to define her as "the most talented young actress in America."

Early life

Lawrence was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and has two older brothers. Her parents are Karen (née Koch), who runs a children's camp, and Gary Lawrence, who once owned a concrete construction firm, Lawrence & Associates. She acted in local theater and, by the age of 14, had decided to pursue an acting career, persuading her parents to take her to New York City to find a talent agent. Prior to finding success in Hollywood, Lawrence attended Kammerer Middle School. She graduated from high school two years early in order to begin a career in acting.

Career

Early work

Lawrence was in the main cast of the TBS comedy ''The Bill Engvall Show'', playing the eldest daughter of Lauren Pearson. Written and created by Bill Engvall and Michael Leeson, the show is set in a Denver suburb and follows the life of 'Bill Pearson' (played by Engvall), a family counselor whose own family could use a little dose of counseling. The series went on the air in September 2007 and was canceled in 2009 after three seasons. Lawrence received the Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Performers in a TV Series for her role in the show.

Lawrence had guest-roles in the television series ''The Devil You Know'', ''Cold Case'', ''Medium'', and ''Monk''.

In 2008, she appeared in a small role in the film ''Garden Party'' as Tiff. It was directed by Jason Freeland. The same year, Lawrence appeared on the big screen in Guillermo Arriaga's film directorial debut ''The Burning Plain'', opposite Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger. Her performance in the film earned her the Marcello Mastroianni Award for best young emerging actor/actress during the Venice Film Festival in 2008.

Still in 2008, she had the lead role in another film director's debut, Lori Petty's family drama ''The Poker House'', opposite Selma Blair and Chloë Moretz, where Lawrence starred as Agnes, a young girl victim of abuse. 2010–present

Lawrence's lead role in Debra Granik's ''Winter's Bone'', which won best picture at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010, is generally cited as a breakout performance for her. She portrays Ree Dolly, a seventeen-year-old in the Ozark Mountains who cares for her mentally ill mother and her younger brother and sister. Ree then discovers that her father put their house and land up as a bond for a court appearance before he disappeared, and the family now faces eviction. The performance was highly acclaimed by film critics. David Denby, writing in ''The New Yorker'', said "the movie would be unimaginable with anyone less charismatic playing Ree." Peter Travers from the ''Rolling Stone'' also spoke highly of her and noted that "her performance is more than acting, it's a gathering storm. Lawrence's eyes are a roadmap to what's tearing Ree apart". Receiving accolades for her performance, Lawrence was awarded the National Board of Review Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. She received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress on January 25, 2011, becoming the second-youngest actress to date to be nominated for the category, and also accrued nominations from the Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the Satellite Awards among others.

Lawrence had a role in ''The Beaver'', a dark comedy starring Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson that was filmed in 2009, but which spent an extended period of time stalled due to controversies surrounding Gibson. It was released on May 6, 2011. Lawrence co-starred in the independent film ''Like Crazy,'' which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and received a wider release by Paramount Pictures.

In June 2011, Lawrence appeared as shape-shifting villain Mystique in ''X-Men: First Class'', a prequel to the rest of the ''X-Men'' film series. Lawrence's Mystique is a younger version of the character played by Rebecca Romijn in earlier ''X-Men'' films. Lawrence is also set to star alongside Elisabeth Shue in Mark Tonderai's thriller ''House at the End of the Street'', which completed filming in 2010 and is in post-production.

Lawrence has never taken any drama classes/lessons for acting. She lived in New York City for the first few years of her career, but resides in Santa Monica, California. ''The Hunger Games''

In March 2011, Lawrence was offered the part of Katniss Everdeen in the film ''The Hunger Games'', based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. Despite being a fan of the books, Lawrence took three days to accept the role because she was initially intimidated by the size of the movie and what it may mean for her fame. She underwent extensive training to get in shape for the role, including archery, rock and tree climbing, combat, running, parkour, pilates, and yoga. The film was released on March 23, 2012, and set the record for the third-largest opening weekend of all time, making a record-breaking $152.5 million opening weekend for a non-sequel film.

The fact that ''The Hunger Games'' emerged as a big box office hit with a female lead represents a dramatic shift for the action film genre. Historically, among the "top 200 worldwide box-office hits ever ($350 million and up), not one has been built around a female action star" and for the first time ever, Lawrence contradicts that. She is currently the highest grossing action heroine of all time.

Though the film generally received positive reviews, Lawrence's strong portrayal of Katniss Everdeen was the most highly praised with Todd McCarthy from ''The Hollywood Reporter'' saying Lawrence embodies Katniss, "just as one might imagine her from the novel" and "anchors" the whole film "with impressive gravity and presence", ultimately calling her "the ideal screen actress". Kenneth Turan from the ''Los Angeles Times'' stated that Lawrence is the "best possible performer as Katniss and is the key factor in making 'Hunger Games' an involving popular entertainment with strong narrative drive that holds our attention". ''Chicago Sun-Times'' film critic Roger Ebert also agreed that "Lawrence is strong and convincing in the central role".

Lawrence will start filming the film adaptation of the second novel in the ''The Hunger Games'' trilogy, ''Catching Fire'', this summer, which is scheduled to be released on November 23, 2013.

Personal life

Lawrence likes to paint, knit sweaters and scarves, surf, and play the guitar. She has been dating English actor Nicholas Hoult since 2011.

Joshua Ryan "Josh" Hutcherson (born October 12, 1992) is an American film and television actor. He began working in the early 2000s, appearing in several minor film and television roles. He gained wider exposure with major roles in the 2005 films ''Little Manhattan'' and ''Zathura'', the 2006 comedy ''RV'', the 2007 family adventure film ''Firehouse Dog'', and the film adaptations of ''Bridge to Terabithia'', ''Journey to the Center of the Earth'' and ''Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant''. On March 30, 2008, Hutcherson won a Young Artist Award (for Leading Young Actor). Hutcherson was also featured on a Celebrity Teens edition of the hit show ''MTV Cribs'', and portrayed Peeta Mellark in the 2012 film ''The Hunger Games''. He will appear in the ''Red Dawn'' remake.

Early life

Josh Hutcherson was born in Union, Kentucky. His mother, Michelle, is a former Delta Air Lines employee who now assists Josh, and his father, Chris Hutcherson, is an analyst for the EPA. He has a younger brother, Connor, as well as many pets, including two dogs, Diesel and Nixon (a boxer). He has wanted to be an actor since he was four years old, but had only begun auditioning for roles in 2002, at the age of 9. He moved from Union to California, due to limited acting opportunities.

Career

Hutcherson's first role was in the 2002 pilot episode, ''House Blend''; in the same year, he appeared in an episode of ''ER''. In 2003, he played the lead role in the comedy ''Miracle Dogs'' (which was released on Animal Planet), starred opposite Peter Falk and Timothy Daly in the made-for-television film, ''Wilder Days'', and had a minor role in the well-reviewed independent film, ''American Splendor''. He performed for the motion-capture imagery in 2004's ''The Polar Express''.

In 2005, Hutcherson appeared in several Hollywood films: he had a minor role in the Will Ferrell comedy ''Kicking & Screaming'', voiced Markl in the animated film ''Howl's Moving Castle'' (June), and played the lead roles in ''Little Manhattan'' (September) and ''Zathura'', which was released in November to positive reviews. The following year, Hutcherson appeared in the comedy ''RV'', playing the son of Robin Williams's character, and subsequently played Jesse Aarons in the drama ''Bridge to Terabithia'', which was filmed in New Zealand and released on February 16, 2007, performing well critically and commercially. He had not read the novel that the film is based on before being cast in the role.

Hutcherson's next role was in ''Firehouse Dog'' (released on April 4, 2007), in which he played Shane Fahey, a firefighter's son who befriends a dog. Hutcherson filmed ''Firehouse Dog'' before ''Bridge to Terabithia'', though the latter film was released first. His next roles were in the "very dark" independent film drama ''Winged Creatures'', and playing the nephew of Brendan Fraser's character in ''Journey to the Center of the Earth'', a new 3-D film version of the novel of the same name; filming on ''Journey'', which was released on July 11, 2008, began in Montreal in June 2006 and ended in October of that year. Hutcherson also appeared in a film adaptation of the book ''Cirque Du Freak''.

In 2010, he had a supporting role in the critically acclaimed movie ''The Kids Are All Right'', playing Laser. Hutcherson has said that he would like to appear in every type of film genre. On April 4, 2011, Lionsgate announced that Hutcherson had been cast as Peeta Mellark in the 2012 film, ''The Hunger Games''.

Personal life

Hutcherson briefly dated his ''Journey 2'' co-star Vanessa Hudgens but the two are now 'good friends'.

Hutcherson has cited actor Jake Gyllenhaal as an inspiration. On August 11, 2007, Hutcherson served as the Grand Marshal at the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series Meijer Indy 300 at Kentucky Speedway. In September 2008, he went to Italy for the first time. He visited Rome and Milan, and participated in a local event about kids and cinema. Hutcherson recorded a video for the "Straight but not narrow" campaign, designed to encourage young, straight men to come out in support of their gay peers. On Saturday, April 21, 2012, Josh received the Vanguard Award from GLAAD. The Vanguard Award is awarded to one who incases the visibilty and understanding of LGBT folks.

Growing up near Cincinnati, Ohio, Hutcherson is a lifelong fan of the city's Major League Baseball team, the Reds; and got to throw the first pitch before their April 7, 2012 game against the Miami Marlins at Great American Ball Park.

In April 2012, Josh adopted a pit bull named Driver from the Hands, Paws, & Hearts rescue organization in Lancaster, CA.

Kurt Vogel Russell (born March 17, 1951) is an American television and film actor. His first acting roles were as a child in television series, including a lead role in the Western series ''The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters'' (1963–1964). In the 1970s, he signed a ten-year contract with the Walt Disney Company, where he became, according to Robert Osborne, the "studio's top star of the '70s". In 1979, Russell was nominated for an Emmy Award for the made-for-television film ''Elvis''.

In 1983, he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for his performance opposite Meryl Streep in the 1984 film, ''Silkwood''. During the 1980s, Russell was cast in several films by director John Carpenter, including anti-hero roles such as former army hero-turned robber Snake Plissken in the futuristic action film ''Escape from New York'', Antarctic helicopter pilot R.J. His film career began at the age of eleven in an uncredited part in Elvis Presley's ''It Happened at the World's Fair'' and two extra episodes, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the then defunct series '''Rin Tin Tin''. On April 24, 1963, Russell guest starred in the ABC series ''Our Man Higgins'', starring Stanley Holloway as an English butler in an American family. He appeared in 1963 as Peter Hall in the episode "Everybody Knows You Left Me" on the NBC medical drama about psychiatry ''The Eleventh Hour''.

Later in 1963, he landed a big part for a juvenile actor: the lead role as Jaimie in the ABC Western series ''The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters'' (1963–1964). Based on a book by Robert Lewis Taylor, the series starred Dan O'Herlihy, John Maloney, and the young Osmond Brothers. Charles Bronson became a semi-regular in the series. In 1964, he guest-starred in ''"Nemesis"'', an episode of the popular ABC series ''The Fugitive'' in which, as the son of police Lt. Phillip Gerard, he is unintentionally kidnapped by his father's quarry, Doctor Richard Kimble. That same year he appeared on ''The Virginian'' as a mistaken orphan whose father was an outlaw played by Rory Calhoun who was still alive and recently released from prison looking for his son. He played a similar role as a kid named Packy Kerlin in the 1964 episode "Blue Heaven" of the western series ''Gunsmoke''.

On February 6, 1965, Russell, not quite fourteen, played the role of Jungle Boy on an episode of CBS's ''Gilligan's Island''. He guest starred on ABC's western ''The Legend of Jesse James''. In 1967, he, Jay C. Flippen, and Tom Tryon appeared in the episode ''"Charade of Justice"'' of the NBC western series ''The Road West'' starring Barry Sullivan. In a March 1966 episode of CBS's ''Lost in Space'' entitled "The Challenge", he played Quano, the son of a planetary ruler. In the same year he played a starring role in Disney's ''Follow Me, Boys!''. He then went on to star in ''The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band'' and ''The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes'', the latter of which spawned two sequels: Now You See Him, Now You Don't in 1972 and ''The Strongest Man in the World'' in 1975.

1970s

In 1971, he co-starred as a young robber released from jail, alongside James Stewart in ''Fools' Parade''. Russell was soon signed to a ten-year contract with the Walt Disney Company, where he became, according to Robert Osborne, the "studio's top star of the '70s". He later auditioned for the role of Han Solo in ''Star Wars'' but lost the role to Harrison Ford.

In the autumn of 1976, Russell appeared with Tim Matheson in the 15-episode NBC series ''The Quest'', the story of two young men in the American West seeking the whereabouts of their sister, a captive of the Cheyenne.

Russell, like his father, had a baseball career. In the early 1970s, Russell played second base for the California Angels minor league affiliates, the Bend Rainbows, Walla Walla Islanders, Portland Mavericks and El Paso Sun Kings. During a play, he was hit in the shoulder by a player running to second base; the collision tore the rotator cuff in Russell's right/throwing shoulder. Before his injury, he was leading the Texas League in hitting, with a .563 batting average. The injury forced his retirement from baseball in 1973 and led to his return to acting.

In 1979, Russell was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or a Special for the made-for-television film ''Elvis''. This would be his first pairing with John Carpenter, the director of ''Halloween''. Although Russell did not perform the singing vocals in the series—which were provided by country music artist Ronnie McDowell—he would later go on to provide the voice of Elvis Presley in the 1994 film ''Forrest Gump''.

1980s

Over the 1980s, Russell would team with Carpenter several times, helping create some of his best-known roles, usually as anti-heroes, including the infamous Snake Plissken of ''Escape from New York'' and its sequel, ''Escape from L.A.''. Among their collaborations was 1982's ''The Thing'', based upon the short story ''Who Goes There?'' by John W. Campbell, Jr., which had been interpreted on film before, albeit loosely, in 1951's ''The Thing from Another World''. In 1986, the two made ''Big Trouble in Little China'', a dark kung-fu comedy/action film in which Russell played a truck driver caught in an ancient Chinese war. While the film was a financial failure like ''The Thing'', it has since gained a cult audience.

Elvis Presley connections have run like a thread through his career. Aside from appearing as a child in one of Presley's films and giving a convincing portrayal of the singer in the 1979 television biopic, Russell starred as an Elvis impersonator involved in a Las Vegas robbery in ''3000 Miles to Graceland'' and provided the voice of Elvis for a scene in ''Forrest Gump''.

Russell is one of the very few famous child stars in Hollywood who has been able continue his acting career past his teen years. Russell received award nominations well into middle age. He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for his performance opposite Meryl Streep in the 1984 film, ''Silkwood''.

1990s–2000s

In 1994, Russell starred as Colonel Jack O'Neil in the military science fiction film ''Stargate''.

His portrayal of U.S. Olympic hockey coach Herb Brooks in the 2004 film, Miracle, won the praise of critics. "In many ways," wrote Claudia Puig of ''USA Today'', "''Miracle'' belongs to Kurt Russell." Roger Ebert of the ''Chicago Sun Times'' wrote, "Russell does real acting here." Elvis Mitchell of ''The New York Times'' wrote, "Mr. Russell's cagey and remote performance gives ''Miracle'' its few breezes of fresh, albeit methane-scented, air."

In 2006, Russell revealed that he was the director of ''Tombstone'', not George P. Cosmatos, as credited. According to Russell, Cosmatos was recommended by Sylvester Stallone and was, in effect, a ghost director, much as he had been for ''Rambo: First Blood Part II''. Russell said he promised Cosmatos he would keep it a secret as long as Cosmatos was alive; Cosmatos died in April 2005. Russell owns the rights to the masters and makes reference to possibly re-editing the film, as he was not originally involved in the editing.

Russell appeared as villain Stuntman Mike in Quentin Tarantino's segment ''Death Proof'' of the film ''Grindhouse''. After a remake of ''Escape from New York'' was announced, Russell was reportedly upset with the casting of Scottish actor Gerard Butler for his signature character, Snake Plissken, as he believed the character 'was quintessentially [...] American.'

Personal life

Russell married actress Season Hubley, whom he had met on the set of ''Elvis'' in 1979; they had a son, Boston Russell, in 1980. In 1983, in the middle of his divorce from Hubley, Russell re-connected with Goldie Hawn on the set of the film ''Swing Shift'', and they have been in a relationship ever since. They had a son, Wyatt, in 1986. One year later, in 1987, the couple starred in the film ''Overboard''. Hawn's son and daughter with Bill Hudson, actors Oliver and Kate Hudson, consider Russell to be their father.

Russell is a Libertarian. In 1996, he stated: "I was brought up as a Republican. But when I realized that at the end of the day there wasn't much difference between a Democrat and Republican, I became a libertarian."

In February 2003, Russell and Hawn moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, so that their son could play hockey. Russell is an FAA licensed private pilot holding single/multi-engine and instrument ratings and is an Honorary Board Member of the humanitarian aviation organization Wings of Hope. Former Major League Baseball player Matt Franco is his nephew.

Lisa Renee Foiles (born September 29, 1986) is an American actress and video game journalist. Foiles has appeared on Seasons 7-10 on the popular Nickelodeon series ''All That''. She and three other cast members (Chelsea Brummet, Jack DeSena, and Kyle Sullivan) were the only members to last through Seasons 7-10. She also guest-starred in an episode of ''Malcolm in the Middle'' as Mallory, the female version of Malcolm.

''All That''

She was one of the new cast-members of the relaunch cast of ''All That'' in season seven. On the show she had many characters such as Claudia. She was one of the cast-members who stayed on the show from the beginning of the relaunch to the cancellation of the show.

Snick On Air Dare

From Seasons 7-9 on ''All That'', Nickelodeon a segment was broadcast during commercial breaks called "Snick On Air Dare", which was similar to the television series ''Fear Factor''. Each segment featured three cast members from ''All That'', in which each of them would be placed in a glass cylinder and one would be randomly chosen to participate in a dare.

In Season 7, Lisa had to lay down in a bathtub full of dead fish. After the dare Lisa said "It was the nastiest thing I had ever done in my life".

In Season 8, Lisa had to lay down in a box with her body covered in mud while live frogs hopped on her body for a minute. Also in that season, Lisa had to chew used gum.

In Season 9, Lisa competed against Nickelodeon star Drake Bell from ''Drake and Josh''. Both of them had to put their bodies in a giant chili bowl and had to eat the chili. The one who gained more weight would be the winner. After the dare, Lisa lost to Drake Bell. Also that season, Lisa had to compete against a cast member from ''Zoey 101''. Lisa had to dance with clam chowder in her pants. After the dare, Lisa won the dance-off.

Present activities

Lisa currently runs the video game website Save Point, consisting of game reviews, articles, and videos featuring herself.

She was on ''The Angry Joe Show'' shortly in 2010 and occasionally writes columns on the gaming news site Kotaku.

She was also featured on ''The Escapist'' online magazine, where she formerly hosted ''Top 5 with Lisa Foiles''. The show is currently on hiatus due to production difficulties.

In 2011 Lisa joined forces with Comikaze Expo, planning the first ever All That Reunion with Comikaze Expo CEO Regina Carpinelli. Comikaze has officially announced Lisa Foiles as the conventions official Gamer Girl and Spokesperson. Comikaze has even stated that " Every convention should have a LISA FOILES.".

She has also played in an amateur mini-drama series on YouTube, called "The Street Fighter", in the role of Camille, and appeared in an ''Adventures of the League of STEAM'' short entitled "Tall Tails", as a mermaid. Additionally, she has had a guest appearance in SMBC comics/theatre.

In 2012, Lisa was a model for the "Girls of Geek" Calendar. Proceeds from the sales went to Breast Cancer research.
