Find Your Vocal Range In 1 Minute.m4v
Find Your Vocal Range In 1 Minute.m4v
Use this to find your vocal range - it only takes 1 minute. If you sing solo you need to know your range so that you can put songs into keys that suit your voice best. If you sing in a choir, you need to know your range to find the right section of the choir for you eg soprano, alto etc. If you practice singing your vocal range may increase over time. Choir Section vocal ranges are shown in a table at the end of the video so you can see where your vocal range fits in.

Adele Live Vocal Range: C3-F5 (2008-2011)
Adeles live vocal range I believe adele to be a MEZZO, her voice seems to resonate higher than a true contralto and she doesnt posses a true manly, dark contralto voice. Her lower register is strong but seems to fall into the same catergorisation as other mezzo's. It could be argued she is a lyric contralto which is deemed mezzo by alot of musical practices.

Matt Bellamy's vocal range (A2-D6)
Matt Bellamy is the lead singer of british band Muse. I used their five studio albums (from 'Showbiz' to 'The Resistance') this means I'm NOT including b-sides (I don't have them all, I'm not such a big fan), plus some live performances for the last high notes. Low Notes: A2-E3 Belted Notes: G4-Bb4 Falsetto/Head Voice: C5-D6 Excuse me if there are any mistakes. Matt's falsetto is insane and sometimes it's hard to tell which note it is. Anyway, enjoy!

Michael Jackson Studio Vocal Range
Michael Jackson Studio Vocal Range
This is a full collection of Michael's vocal range from childhood years to adult years. (sadly I left out his teen years due to the limited capacity of this video). Michael's voice is really magical, he has an amazing belting range. He's the type of singer who sings with feeling and emotion (James Ingram once said he never saw anyone in the studio like Mike. When most singers would focuse on hitting the correct notes, Michael would dance-literally- while singing...which was crazy lol). Thom Yorke's vocal range
Thom Yorke's vocal range
Comments disabled, since this page has become an endless stream of juvenile insults, stemming from what was originally a Radiohead vs. Muse discussion. It's alright to like both bands; if you don't like one of them, respect that other people do. By the way, no band can ever be definitely "better" than another. Here is an entirely subjective collection of notes which I think best reflect Thom Yorke's range. While Yorke himself is the first to admit that he's not the greatest technical singer in the world, he has shown impressive range in his work. His voice quality has suffered since the mid 1990s, but, back in the early days, when he was on form, he could belt it out. Yorke was ranked #67 on Rolling Stone magazine's "100 Greatest Singers of All Time" in 2008. Bass notes: 1) E2 from "Skip Divided". 2) F2 from "Bittersweet", Velvet Goldmine soundtrack. 3) G#2 from "I Will". Now for some high notes: 4) Grand E4 from "Street Spirit". 5) G4 from "The Bends". 6) Epic A4 from a certain song... 7) Powerful live B4 from "Stop Whispering", Astoria London Live. 8) C5 from "Paranoid Android" (highest sustained falsetto note on a studio recording). 9) Effortless-sounding D5 from the full-length On a Friday demo.* 10) Live F5 from "Anyone Can Play Guitar", Sound City, Bristol, 19-4-95. 11) Campy A#5 "oooh" from the full-length On a Friday demo. 12) Not exactly an example of Yorke at his most beautiful: a scratchy, sustained F6 scream, peaking at G#6, again from the full-length On a ...

The Vocal Range of Ville Valo: (B0-)F1-F5(-B♭6)
The Vocal Range of Ville Valo: (B0-)F1-F5(-B♭6)
Ville Valo could be called one of the best low singers in rock music. His distinctive and versatile low baritone (aka. bass) voice is really deep and booming, and he has some of the strongest lows I've ever heard in rock music. Valo's high note technique has also improved a lot and his highs are pretty impressive too with him spanning A LOT of range in many performances. 1. 0:00 - Fantastic singing bottoming around short G2s from the legendary "Summer Wine". 2. 0:12 - Two strong G2s from "Love You Like I Do". 3. 0:27 - Strong F2 from Apocalyptica's "Bittersweet" (Lauri Ylönen is the higher voice). 4. 0:35 - Really good choir harmonies from "In Venere Veritas" with solid F2s. 5. 0:42 - Solid E2s from the backing vocals of Cradle of Filth's "Byronic Man". 6. 0:59 - Really good E2s from the intro of "Gone with the Sin". 7. 1:29 - Really strong E2s from the re-recorded version of "It's All Tears (Drown in This Love)". 8. 1:56 - The original version of "It's All Tears (Drown in This Love)" with some of the best lows I've ever heard around that area: EXTREMELY strong and bassy lows bottoming at E♭2s, monstrous! 9. 2:25 - Spoken passage from "Dark Sekret Love" bottoming around D2. 10. 3:10 - Strong sustained C2 from the live version of "Killing Loneliness". 11. 3:23 - Fantastic low passage from "Venus Doom" trailing down to B1. 12. 3:50 - Quick B♭1 from the live version of "The Kiss of Dawn" from the live album Digital Versatile Doom, Valo spans F1-E5(!) during the concert! 13 ...

The Vocal Range of Jack Black: (A1-)C♯2-E♭5(-B7)
The Vocal Range of Jack Black: (A1-)C♯2-E♭5(-B7)
Though widely known as a comedian and an actor, Jack Black is also a really accomplished singer. He has recently started to showcase his vocal talents properly in songs by Tenacious D, showcasing many different styles in more and less serious ways. Black's natural voice type is a low tenor, but he can do a fantastic baritonish sound which makes his voice sound much lower than it actually is. Some of his cleaner high notes reveal that his true power comes up there though, which makes Black a really formidable singer, who can demonstrate both his baritonish and tenorish moments well. 1. 0:00 - Quick B2 from "The Metal". 2. 0:09 - Unreleased "Jesus Farm" with a descend down to B2. 3. 0:16 - Strong B2s and short B♭2 from "Classico" with some light B4s after those notes. 4. 0:22 - Easy A2s from "Fuck Her Gently". 5. 0:36 - Short A2s from "City Hall". 6. 0:52 - Spoken G2 from "Double Team". 7. 1:01 - Short spoken F♯2 from "The Divide". 8. 1:13 - Strong sung F2s from unreleased "Cornerstone Player", really impressive notes by a tenor voice! 9. 1:28 - Purposely low-spoken 'redneck' speaking from the hilarious music video of "Low" by Foo Fighters, black gets couple of easy F2s here. 10. 1:36 - E2 from the ending of "Explosivo". 11. 1:41 - Short E2 from "Tribute". 12. 1:54 - Much better E2 from the later part of the demo version of "Tribute", Black does this note in a pig squeal-like voice in the studio version! 13. 2:00 - Quick E2 from the live play "Prop 8: The Musical". 14. 2 ...

*UPDATE* (HD) Leona Lewis Vocal Range Live - 2010/2011/Hurt: The EP Era: C3-Eb6
Leona has been bust around the world over the past 15 months or so! From England to Italy to Malaysia, Leona has done gigs and events performing a variety of songs. Hope you like it, a lot of people have wanted me to do this! Here is something to bridge the gap until Glassheart is released. March 2012 update: Leona did a gig in Hong Kong, where she performed Collide, Glassheart, Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These), I Got U, Better in Time, Bleeding Love and Outta My Head. During the A5 falsetto run in Outta My Head, Leona ascended to an Eb6 near the end of it, and I decided to update the video to include it. As soon as the second single from Glassheart is released, I will stop updating this era.

The Vocal Range of Freddie Mercury: (G1-)C♯2-F5(-F6)
The Vocal Range of Freddie Mercury: (G1-)C♯2-F5(-F6)
Freddie Mercury's legendary voice is known all around the world. His influence on singing, unique style, powerful high notes and solid lower range have granted him the reputation of 'one of the greatest singers of all time'. Often mistaken as a high baritone or a leggiero tenor, Mercury was actually a low tenor during his musical career. His singing style during 80's started to get much raspier and he sounded identically like a baritone in many of his performances from that era. His voice is best described as a really low tenor with baritonish qualities. 1. 0:00 - Really good baritonish singing from "The Golden Boy" bottoming at B♭2. 2. 0:13 - Quick B♭2 from "Guide Me Home/How Can I Go On (Alternative Version)". 3. 0:20 - Really good and baritonish A2s from "I'm Going Slightly Mad", Innuendo is one of Queen's best albums! 4. 0:32 - Lots of A2s from the backing vocals of "Flick of the Wrist". 5. 0:40 - Strong A2s and one vocal fry G1 (non-modal) from "Ride the Wild Wind". 6. 1:02 - A2s from the backing vocals of "The March of the Black Queen", Mercury also hits great clean high C (C5) before the lows. 7. 1:07 - Quick G♯2 from "Cool Cat". 8. 1:12 - Booming G♯2s and short G2s from "Somebody to Love". 9. 1:19 - Really subtle G2s from the legendary vocal harmonies of "Bohemian Rhapsody". 10. 1:25 - G2 from the vocal harmonies of "Bicycle Race". 11. 1:30 - Strong G2 from the vocal harmonies of "Bring Back That Leroy Brown". 12. 1:35 - Solid F2 from "Don't Try Suicide". 13 ...

The Vocal Range of Steven Tyler: C2-F5(-E6)
The Vocal Range of Steven Tyler: C2-F5(-E6)
As my Christmas-gift to you, here is the vocal range video for Steven Tyler, the legendary vocalist from Aerosmith! He has been singing with his famous style for MANY years, and still keeps on going strong without any significant vocal problems. His voice was quite clean during the 70's, and he started to maintain his trademark rasps and screams during 80's. Tyler is a low tenor with really strong chest voice which he uses to soar up high really often. Another trademark-thing used by him is his raspy falsetto which is often credited as full voice due to the raspiness and power of it. His low notes are really strong for a lower tenor, and he showcases wide vocal range in songs like "Walk on Water" and "I Love Trash". He has tons of high notes so I tried to include some of the best ones here! 1. 0:00 - The first clip has Tyler singing the lead vocal-part in the intro of "Janie's Got a Gun", he gets down to strong B♭2 at one point. 2. 0:16 - Solid A2 from "Reefer Headed Woman". 3. 0:22 - Quick G2 from "Hangman Jury". 4. 0:26 - Bunch of short A2s and G2s in "FINE". 5. 0:48 - "Girl Keeps Coming Apart" with cluster of strong spoken A2s and G2s. 6. 1:15 - Bunch of lows throughout the song "Shut Up and Dance", the lowest is around G2. 7. 1:44 - "Permanent Vacation" with short but sweet G2. 8. 1:48 - Really strong low backing vocals from "Hoodoo/Voodoo Medicine Man", lots of F♯2s and few E2s. 9. 2:30 - "Baby, Please Don't Go" with Tyler imitating the guitar: he starts the melody ...

(HD) Mariah Carey's 5 Octave Vocal Range (Live G#2-G#7)
Mariah Carey possesses a five-octave vocal range, and was ranked first in a 2003 MTV and Blender magazine countdown of the 22 Greatest Voices in Music, as voted by fans and readers in an online poll. Sasha Frere-Jones of The New Yorker adds her timbre possesses various colors, saying, "Carey's sound changes with nearly every line, mutating from a steely tone to a vibrating growl and then to a humid, breathy coo."Her wide vocal range allows Carey to take melodies from alto bottom notes to coloratura soprano upper register, and, according to music critic Jim Faber of New York Daily News, she can "cover all the octaves between those voice types], and [possesses] the agility to move between ... with swiftness and aplomb." Carey also possesses what she calls "whisper register". In an interview with the singer, Ron Givens of Entertainment Weekly described it this way, "first, a rippling, soulful ooh comes rolling effortlessly from her throat: alto. Then, after a quick breath, she goes for the stratosphere, with a sound that nearly changes the barometric pressure in the room. In one brief swoop, she seems to squeal and roar at the same time: whisper register." Voice experts praise Carey's vocal technique, like Stephen Holden who said, "she can deliver very accurate staccatos as well as tricky melismas, and she possesses a beautiful and solid trill in upper register". Jeanette Lo Vetri states, "Carey is really a great technician. The staccatos are pin point, executed with amazing ...
