Pakistani Film Singers (5/6)
Pakistani Film Singers (5/6)
Pakistan Television Global presented some film singer's in their "Light Music" category during their anniversary in November 2007. It was lot of editing work for me, but I've managed all film singers, which were available. It was just unfair, that not all main singers are in this video, missing Zubaida Khanum, Inayat Hussain Bhatti, Naseem Begum, Irene Perveen, Munir Hussain, Bashir Ahmad, Mujeeb Alam, Rajab Ali, Ghulam Abbas etc... One more video is coming on this series of singers from Ptv... It's 5th video in this series, other videos are: 1 - Pakistani Folk Singers on www.youtube.com 2 - Pakistani Spiritual Music on www.youtube.com 3 - Pakistani Classical Singers on www.youtube.com 4 - Pakistani Ghazal Singers on www.youtube.com 6 - Pakistani Radio/TV/Pop Singers on www.youtube.com Read more on Pakistani singers on mazhar.dk

Outstanding performance from SB John. Very rare. Lyrics by Fayyaz Hashmi, composed by Master Manzoor Hussain for the 1959 film Savera. Credit to Anis Shakur for this information, and thanks to Asif bhai for bringing it to my attention. ---------------- SB John. Sunny Benjamin John, who is popularly known as SB John, was born in 1934. He spend most of his life in Karachi, Pakistan. SB John started singing on Radio Pakistan Karachi as an A category artist. Side by side he also made his presence felt in various functions and stage shows held in Karachi. SB John also sang Janab Rana Akbar Aabadi Sahabs ghazal, Uray hoash us dar pay janay say pehlay. Sohail Rana composed this ghazal at EMI Pakistan. Around 1973, SB John introduced his son, Robin John, to Sohail Rana and said that he wishes to get his son a keyboard. Since young Robin remembered all his fathers songs. Robin was seven or eight years of age at the time. Fifteen years later, SB John again brought Robin to Sohail Rana. By that time Robin had grown up as a talented singer. Hence, Sohail Rana utilized Robins singing talents in Pakistani television shows, and also in private songs and the film recordings. Additionally ...

Aziz Mian - Are Daulat Ke Bande
Aziz Mian Qawwal (born in Delhi, India on April 17th ,1942 Died in Tehran, Iran at the age of 58 on Wednesday 6th December 200) Qawwali music developed around the Sufi shrines that are dotted all over the Indian subcontinent whose annual urs(festivals) attract vast numbers of devotees, both Muslim and Hindu. It is music for the heart and soul, its hypnotic rhythms intended to arouse a state of abandon and ecstasy, to draw the listener in, its message the transcendent power of love (ishq). A qawwali show traditionally begins and ends with devotional songs but in between there is scope for improvisation and here Aziz Mian comes into his own. No simple ...
