The stage at Shakespeare's Globe trembled under a performance unlike any it will have experienced before this morning, when a Maori haka launched the Globe To Globe Festival A war cry or challenge, the Maori tradition, most often associated with the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team, was performed by New Zealand's Ngãkau Toa theatre company, which performs Troilus And Cressida tonight and tomorrow, opening the season of shows that will see all 37 of Shakespeare's plays performed by 37 international companies in 37 different languages.

New Globe Theater in New York Harbor (Part 1)
New Globe Theater in New York Harbor (Part 1)
In New York Harbor stands a decaying military fortification, built to defend America against the British in the War of 1812 ... and it happens to have the identical blueprint as Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. The New Globe is proposing to transform the military fort on Governors Island into a 21st-century American interpretation of the Globe. The theater is designed by Lord Norman Foster and developed in partnership with Shakespeare's Globe in London. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kevin Kline, Sam Mendes, Al Pacino, Estelle Parsons, Mark Rylance and others provide artistic leadership. For more information, see www.newglobe.org

Jump London parkour seq, orig. C4 music. Director: Mike Christie.
I'm not sure this gets seen very often so I thought I'd post it. This is the original action sequence featured in the TV version of Jump London (part 3 of the 4 part programme). While the visuals are the same as the widely available DVD version, this was the soundtrack that accompanied the original film aired on Channel 4 in 2003, and features the original music. This wasn't used on the DVD due to the cost of clearances, and the music was replaced for the DVD and international versions by the marvellous Ian Masterson. The original tracklisting is: Ordinary Day by Bent (from The Everlasting Blink) - Somerset House Jump Main Theme by Ian Masterson - The Mall, Albert Hall Jumping by Ian Masterson - HMS Belfast, Redjacket Noctuary by Bonobo (from Dial M for Monkey) - City of London School, Globe London by Pet Shop Boys / Felix da Housecat (from Disco 3) - Globe, Big Ben shots Break My Head by Thomas Beach - Old County Hall, Saatchi, Soho What Your Soul Sings by Massive Attack (from 100th Window) - National Theatre, Tate Modern

Shakespeare: As You Like It (Globe)
Shakespeare: As You Like It (Globe)
Thea Sharrock's irresistible new production of Shakespeare's popular romantic comedy stirs wit, sentiment, intrigue and love into a charming confection which challenges the traditional rules of romance. At its heart, a feisty but feminine Rosalind (Naomi Frederick), in love with the endearingly naïve Orlando (Jack Laskey), uses her disguise as Ganymede to counsel him playfully in the art of wooing. Distraction is provided by Dominic Rowan, a remarkably funny Touchstone, and Tim McMullan, whose sonorous tones are perfectly suited to the lugubrious wit of Jaques. Filmed in High Definition and true surround sound. Recorded live at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, London, in October 2009. Cynthia's Pilot Guides (Globe Trekker) Showreel - Quebec
To apply to be a travel show host on "Pilot Guides", you must send in your resume to Pilot Productions in London, along with a 5 min. "showreel" of yourself. With the help of my Mom and Dad as my "camera crew" I was able to make a video last winter (2005) while I was visiting my family in Quebec City for the holidays. The video presented here is the final version of my showreel. So, relax, sit back and enjoy the show. The following video contains music composed by Ian Ritchie (the composer for the Pilot Guides series). For more information on the series, please visit www.pilotguides.com
