But what are the consequences of this manipulation? Jim Rickards, author of the bestselling book Currency Wars, is here to talk about them. And it's world debt day in the UK, and a number of other countries -- it's a campaign demanding an end to developing world debt. But how about demanding an end to the developed world's debt? Is that what these campaigns should be calling for, as the US gears up for another debt ceiling showdown? And as more than one-point-two billion euros fly out of Greek banks at the start of this work week alone, we wonder aloud how much longer the ECB will continue to hold the roof while Greeks sprint for the exits? And speaking of sprinting for the exits of debt, check out who may be standing in front of the doorway. Twelve dead in weekend of Libyan skirmishing To see more go to www.youtube.com Follow us on Facebook (goo.gl or Twitter (www.twitter.com Gaddafi may be gone but Libya is now a country in chaos. Rebel groups are flush with weapons and taking the law into their own hands, persecuting those thought to have been allied to Gaddafi's regime. Libya's power vacuum has been filled by heavily armed rebels who still control much of the war-torn nation. Images of the sprawling refugee camps reveal the extent of the country's destroyed infrastructure. Mohammed Swehli, a commander of one of the major Misratan Rebel Brigades, denies the widespread allegations of torture and abuse. "They're not bandits, they're not militia groups", he says of the rebels. But video after video has emerged of the torture of perceived Gaddafi loyalists, most of them far too gruesome to broadcast. In some cases the brutal treatment appears to be based solely on the colour of the victim's skin. This report gained rare access to the prisons where thousands are being held indefinitely without charge. One former prisoner shows pictures of his injuries. "This is when they beat me with electric cables. They called me slave", he says. Iraq's prime minister has said an explosion inside Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone earlier this week was an assassination attempt. Nouri al-Maliki said that initial intelligence on the bomb that exploded opposite the parliament buildings on Monday suggested he was the target. However, he denied that the explosion signaled a deterioration in security in the area, which is meant to be one of the most secure in Iraq. "The preliminary intelligence information says that the car was due to enter parliament and stay there and not to explode. It was supposed to explode on the day I entered parliament," he told the Associated Press news agency on Saturday. Al Jazeera's Jane Arraf reports from Baghdad.
