FRESNEL LENS SOLAR HOT WATER, Heat Solar Pool Heater Solar Swimming Pool Heater
greenpowerscience.com This is a large Fresnel Lens focused on a copper tube with a 12 V pump (powered by two 6 watt solar panels) with water circulating through the unit. Water, seven gallons, was raised from 63 F to 106 F in one hour. It is not super efficient as heat is lost at the open top of the glass tank. This is designed to illustrate one method of solar heating a swilling pool with a Large Fresnel Lens. TESTING HDD AQUA BLOCK.

The thinner the material is, the less square area it has to dissipate heat collected. This lens is extremely powerful but would have a difficult time melting a 1 inch x 1 inch block of aluminum in open air. Metal masses require a crucible to retain the heat collected or they act like a heat sink. This is why heat sinks are usually at least 3/16" thick. This solar distiller can creat water deliver of .5 GPH www.greenpowerscience.com There are a lot of websites that quote the same incorrect information regarding distilled water in soda and mineral leaching. If this were true, and it is not, would be leached and water with sugar, or artificial sweetener would become heavy. If you are concerned, add 10mg Na to each liter. Also, eating food with water, all minerals are mixed with fluid in the stomach converting distilled water into mineral water. Distilled water is not magic, if you add a splash of milk to tea made with distilled water, you now have 10x the calcium of regular mineral water. www.eves-best.com Distilled water is very good for you. The only areas it may cause a problem is developing nations that have near famine conditions. For the rest of the world who usually ingest 15x the sodium recommended, distilled water leaches salt first. ONLY IF you are salt deprived (extremely rare) will distilled water leach excess potassium and or calcium. You would need to drink about 2 gallons in 10 hours for there to be a problem. If heavy sweating, water of any kind is only a thirst quencher or temporary fluid fix. www.greenpowerscience.com For those of you who do not know, our neighbor had all his stuff lost in a house fire. On January 1, 2011 we uploaded two videos for a fund raiser to help him out. In 14 hours, our viewers raised almost $900. This is the bikini solar cooking video we promised:-) F One viewer, "Al from Australia" offered an additional donation of $100 in exchange for a bikini top video of Denise:-) Al donated a total of $150 to help our neighbor out. www.youtube.com www.youtube.com In the spirit of all the sunbathers in Northern Florida, this is the bikini video. The lens is a 50" Linear Fresnel that cooks a bit slower than a Spot Fresnel Lens but it worked great. BTW Denise use to be a professional model:-) This was taped in our backyard with a Canon XHA1 and a Canon 7D. Unless otherwise decided, this video will only be active for a few days. That was the deal:-)

This is the same engine with a strong Fresnel Lens. The steel wool adds power to the displacer piston as the light has a good focal target INSIDE the glass chamber Dramatically increasing efficiency. This is very important as most Stirling Engine lose 50% of their heat into the surrounding air. A vacuum would be even better. Also, because the glass chamber easily removes with a rubber O ring fitting, air can be replaces with a custom heat exchange gas.

www.greenpowerscience.com This is a new design I found, they work with a Fresnel Lens or a Parabolic Mirror. Strong and efficient for its size. A proper Fresnel Lens. Also a Dual Rotor Axial Flux Generator. Most people try a plastic reflector from the back, this is a poor option. Also if you use a standard "Dynamo" for power, you will be lucky to get 3-10 watts. Stirling engines are hindered by "COGGING" Axial Flux limits cogging. Still the overall cost and time to get a max of 40 watts. Solar Panels are by far the best option. But these are fun for sure. We have been trying different videos and had a run of experiments not going right. Also Florida is very cloudy from June - July, this video took 4 hours to shoot waiting for the clouds.

This test incorporates a secondary glass lens just short of the focal point allowing most of the concentrated light from the first lens to be further concentrated by the second glass lens. The results were a 50% reduction in focal point diameter size but also a power drop of 25%.
