Abe Pollin Washington Wizards owner dead at 85
Abe Pollin Washington Wizards owner dead at 85
Washington Wizards owner Abe Pollin died today, the team announced. He was 85. Pollin bought the Baltimore Bullets in 1964 and moved the team to the DC area in 1973. He changed the teams name from "Bullets" to "Wizards" in 1996 because of the negative connotations associated with the former name. With his wife Irene, Pollin was the majority owner of Washington Sports & Entertainment Limited Partnership, which also oversaw the operations of the Washington Wizards and the Verizon Center. Pollin is also known for his philanthropic work. "The Pollin Award" has been awarded annually since 2002 in his honor. Awardees are chosen based on their dedication to the Washington, DC, community and the impact they have on it.

Gilbert Arenas 2009-10 Highlights
Gilbert Arenas 2009-10 Highlights
These are highlights of Gilbert Arenas' 2009-10 season. He only played in I believe 32 games, due to the gun incident, which led to a season long suspension of Arenas. He had a season high 45 points against the warriors, and averaged about 23 points a game, along with 7 assits a game. Agent 0 is gone for good..He will be getting his number changed to 6 next season. The Wizards underachieved this season, and after Arenas got suspended, it led to the trades or Jamison (Cavs), Butler, Haywood and Stevenson (Mavs), and McGuire (Kings) for Cash Considerations. The team also was put throught alot, emotionally, because of the death of the Team Owner, Abe Pollin. The team will build around Arenas next season, as he will be playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Washington Wizards Tribute (9) - Bullets of the '70s
Washington Wizards Tribute (9) - Bullets of the '70s
This is a tribute for the Baltimore/Capital/Washington Bullets of the 1970s. Players that are included in this nice video are Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Elvin "The Big E" Hayes, Wes Unseld, Bobby Dandridge, and more players I dont reconize. This is the video that covers the 1978 Finals win, and shows MVP Wes Unseld along with Abe Pollin, the Owner of the Bullets/Wizards. These were the years the Bullets were dominent. The only player I didnt include was Gus Johnson because I couldnt find any highlights on him.

store.bandwear.com Yonnet and Stevie Wonder went head to head on the harmonica during Wonders show at the "Living for the City" concert hosted by the Pollin Family at Verizon Center on May 26. The free private concert was a way for the family of the late Abe Pollin to thank the employees of their company, Washington Sports and Entertainment, and those of several civic and public service organizations. "Is my friend here?" Wonder asked the audience. Then he teased with a few bars of "Boogie On Reggae Woman," a song they like to perform together. Yonnet responded from the second row of the audience then joined Wonder on stage for a few songs.

Antawn Jamison - From AJ to 'Twan
Antawn Jamison - From AJ to 'Twan
This is a tribute video for Antawn Jamison. Sorry guys, I couldnt find alot of highlights about 'Twan cause he is underrated, but at least, he'll make his presence felt at Cleveland. Antawn was with the Wizards for about 5 1/2 seasons..and was the only member from the 2004-05 season that beat the bulls along with Arenas and Haywood. The Caron-Gil-Twan show is offically over..the Agent 0 era is done. Chances are, with Butler and Jamison gone..Arenas can be well on his way to being done with the Wizards. Antawn Jamison contributed alot to the fans..on and off the court. He was a good friend of the late Abe Pollin. Abe said that Jamison was like "Wes Unseld"..to be called a Wes Unseld..He and Abe are like really good friends. Pollin and Jamison were like really close. Jamison promised Pollin a championship with the Wizards..but sadly thats not going to happen. Antawn also became a 2 time all-star with the Wizards (2005, 2008). Antawn has a unique unorthdox style he uses to play basketball, and has both post and range. Antawn has done alot to help the community, in many ways. Antawn, along with Caron and Gil, was in the highest scoring trio for the Wizards during the 2005-06 season, scoring about 68 points a game. Jamison posted Carrer Highs while he was with the Wizards. He had MANY memorable moments with this organization. On behalf of all the Wizards fans, I would like to thank AJ for all the work he's done for the organization. He has gave back to the community in many ...
