June 15t:Green Fireball across England over fields with 2012 Crop Circles.UFO OVNI The Telegraph June 16th 2012 Large meteor spotted over UK Police forces across the UK have been inundated with calls after what is believed to be a meteor was spotted in the sky. Reports of a "bright light" and an "orange glow" were received by police across Scotland and the north of England around 9.40pm. The Met Office tweeted: "Hi All, for anyone seeing something in the night sky, we believe it was a meteorite." A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said the force had been "inundated" with calls about a bright object in the sky across the west of Scotland. A Durham Police spokeswoman said a number of calls came in around 9.45pm from concerned members of public who had seen a "bright light or a fire in the sky" and believed it may have been incidents involving an aircraft. "It has been confirmed with air traffic control that there are no incidents of aircraft in difficult and nothing registered on radar," she said. "The sightings are believed to be either an asteroid burning out or similar which has been restricted to the upper atmosphere only." Grampian Police said reports of people seeing a "flare or a bright object with a tail" were received from across the region. And Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said numerous calls were made about a "large ball of fire in the sky" across Annandale and Eskdale. Olympic Torch Relay on way
HISTORY will be made this week when the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay passes through Dumfriesshire. Crowds are expected to line the route early on Thursday morning when the convoy passes through Dumfries, Annan, Eastriggs and Gretna. The torch will then be carried into the north of the City of Carlisle by an athlete from Dumfries. Annandale and Eskdale Sport Development Officer Calum Graham, who will carry the Olympic flame for a section in Gretna, has been involved in the preparations for the visit for months. Annan Youth Cycling Club track session 3 days.
AYCC with Scottish cycling and Annandale & Eskdale sports Academy had a 3 day tester session using track bikes on the Everholm running track for the kids to experience the thrills of riding a fixed wheel bike. Some of the kids were able to go to Manchesters velodrome the same week and ride the boards the likes of Chris Hoy and Victoria Pendleton broke many world records.

Tourism honour at Marriage Mecca
SEVERAL Dumfries and Galloway people have been honoured in the Queen's New Year Honours list. Among them is well-known border farmer and businessman Alasdair Houston, executive chairman and managing director of Gretna Green Group, who receives the MBE for services to tourism. He has overseen the continued growth of the family-run visitor attraction which is one of the Gretna area's largest employers. At the heart of the enterprise is the World Famous Blacksmith's Shop and associated attractions while the near-by Smiths Hotel, opened by the company five years ago at a cost of £5 million, has won a string of awards. Another Dumfriesshire man also becomes an MBE for services to the British armed forces. Ken McLaughlan, who lives near Dumfries, worked tirelessly to assist ex-service men and women in his role for many years as secretary of SSAFA Forces Help in the area. He previously worked with P&O; Ferries and served in the merchant navy. A well-known figure in local law circles, Honorary Sheriff Johan Findlay, becomes an OBE for her services to the administration of justice. The Lochmaben area resident has also been a JP and served on the Parole Board for Scotland and written a respected history book on Scotland's Justice of the Peace system. Further west, Murray Irving, from Drummore, Wigtownshire, receives an MBE for services to his community.
