My Experience Having Revisional Ptosis Surgery
www.oculoplastic.info (310) 777-8880 Eyelid Ptosis occurs when the muscles that raise the eyelid are not strong enough to do so properly. It can affect one eye or both eyes and is more common in the elderly, as muscles in the eyelids may begin to deteriorate. Ptosis may be caused by damage to the muscle which raises the eyelid, or damage to the nerve (3rd cranial nerve (oculomotor nerve)) which controls this muscle. Such damage could be a sign or symptom of an underlying disease such as diabetes mellitus, a brain tumor, and diseases which may cause weakness in muscles or nerve damage, such as myasthenia gravis. Exposure to the toxins in some snake and insect venoms, such as that of the black mamba, may also cause this effect.

Revisional Ptosis (Drooping Eyelid) Surgery - Dr. Kami Parsa, Beverly Hills
oculoplastic.info http A 24 year old female underwent a cosmetic procedure to reduce her frown lines and also eliminate a scar on her forehead that she got as a kid. Using a newly developed technique, the plastic surgeon went in through her eyelids to get to the scar tissue and release the brow muscles. While recovering she noticed that she had lost the use of her right upper eyelid. This caused her a loss of visual field because her drooping eyelid was covering nearly 50 percent of her eye. Alerting her surgeon to this problem, a 2nd surgery was scheduled to identify and correct the cause of the ptosis. Following her 2nd surgery, the ptosis only became worse. Realizing there was a serious breakdown in care, she began researching other doctors who specialized in people born with this condition and quickly scheduled a consultation with oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Kami Parsa. During her initial consultation with Dr. Parsa, he immediately reconized what the anatomical problem was and assured her that is was something that could be fixed. Following her surgery with Dr. Parsa her expectations were blown out of the water and she now has 100% recovery of her eyelid. Ptosis, pronounced toe-sis, is the medical term for drooping of the upper eyelids. The droopy eyelid can be mild to severe. People who have ptosis may complain that people tell them they look "tired or lazy." Because of a constant effort to raise the eyelids it is not uncommon to also complain of ...

Eyelid Ptosis Correction Surgery in High Speed
www.oculoplastic.info (310) 777-8880 Ptosis, pronounced toe-sis, is the medical term for drooping of the upper eyelids. The droopy eyelid can be mild to severe. People who have ptosis may complain that people tell them they look "tired or lazy." Because of a constant effort to raise the eyelids it is not uncommon to also complain of fatigue and tension headaches. The most common reason for ptosis is acquired ptosis , which develops as we age. This is due to disinsertion of the tendon that holds the eyelid up in a normal anatomic position. Another cause is congenital ptosis , which happens when a child is born with droopy eyelids. This is rather an urgent medical condition for the child and surgery may be needed to prevent permanent loss of vision in the affected eye. Other rare causes of ptosis include myogenic ptosis from conditions such as Myasthenia gravis, neurogenic ptosis , due to third nerve palsy and mechanical ptosis from tumors or trauma.

www.TalkinMakeup.com http www.YouTube.com *My Daughters Channel* www.YouTube.com www.YouTube.com *Vlog Channel* Drooping Eyelids & Mono Eyelids 101 Makeup School Drooping eyelid When an eyelid is described as Drooping or Droopy age is usually the culprit. These eyelids are very similar to hooded except for the skin texture. For an everyday look you want to put a light shade of a matte eyeshadow or a light eyeliner in a thick line behind the lash line Blending it up slightly Then place a very thin line of eyeliner behind the lashes this will make your eyelid really pop Then apply mascara Remember to shape your eyebrows Fill your eyebrows in Highlight your brow bone using a light color of concealer or a light eyeshadow Mono eyelids Mono lids are eyelids that have no clearly defined crease or eyelids Mono lids are more of a flat eyelid You can create the crease two ways with this eyelid type The first step is to locate where your crease should be Then apply a medium shade of eyeshadow along the crease area Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush Then use a smaller tighter eyeshadow brush or you could even use a Qtip for this next step Take a dark eyeshadow and apply it in a thin line almost Then when you blend your crease you will have created a shadowed crease If you have no folds of skin in the corner of your eye Apply a medium shade of eyeshadow on your inner crease area Then a thin line of the darker shade you use on your outer crease Leave the center of your crease open Then ...

Ptosis Eyelid Surgery for Children & Teens - Prasad Cosmetic Surgery, New York
Cosmetic Oculofacial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Amiya Prasad answers RealSelf.com question on Ptosis Surgery for Drooping Eyelids: Question: I Believe My Daughter Needs Ptosis Surgery, But She Doesn't. Should I Force It? My teenage daughter has Ptosis of the left eyelid. It is not interfering with her vision but it is definitely noticeable. I did not want her to have the "cosmetic" surgery as a child under general anesthesia. The doc said it was best to wait until she was older and growth has stopped and the surgery can be done under local anesthetic. My daughter does not want the surgery now and the docs say it is not interfering with her vision. Should I force her to have the surgery? Author of cosmetic surgery guide "The Fine Art of Looking Younger", Amiya Prasad MD is a board-certified super-specialist eyelid surgeon and has performed hundreds of Blepharoplasty procedures for Ptosis correction.
