Unemployed win right to representation at Workfare provider A4e

Unemployed people in Edinburgh have won a significant victory by forcing workfare provider A4e to recognise that claimants on their programmes have the right to take their own representative to meetings with A4e. For over two and a half years A4e have refused to recognise reps from Edinburgh Claimants, affiliated to Edinburgh Coalition Against Poverty. A4e often called the police to evict both rep and claimant from their offices in Edinburgh's Earl Grey Street!

Racist thugs “organised” a demo in Glasgow today, Saturday 25th February. They were crap. Antifascists were awesome. Police put SDL on minibuses and sent them out of the city centre early afternoon as otherwise we would have eaten them up.

Earth First! Winter Moot to come to Scotland

Earth First!, the loose network of people opposed to environmental destruction, is holding its yearly winter gathering in Glespin, South Lanarkshire, next weekend (24th - 26th February).
