[Falk Demo Reel] Rooftop Run - Interactive Music Re-score "Be Cool, Be Wild"
[Falk Demo Reel] Rooftop Run - Interactive Music Re-score "Be Cool, Be Wild"
First Berklee College of Music FS-471 Advanced Scoring for Games assignment, using Wwise. The music is set up so that the game swaps from section to section based on position in the level, with triggers set up to move the music from one section to the next. Additionally, each main section contains two different versions, that swap depending on Sonic's performance. The music is designed to help tell the story of the level, rather than just playing a single musical track on loop. For example, the triggers and composition is set up so that the guitar solo will kick in on the clock tower grind every time, regardless of how fast or slow players progress through the level. Audio tracks: "Be Cool" (Rock Form) - soundcloud.com "Be Wild" (Techno/D&B Form) - soundcloud.com Oh, re: song titles, there originally was supposed to be a 3rd genre for extremely poor performance, which would have been called "Be Groovy" but it wasn't working as intended. Oh well. :P Failed easter egg.

Mark O'Connor's Double Violin Concerto (excerpt) Berklee College Orchestra
Mark O'Connor's Double Violin Concerto (Mvmt I excerpt) Berklee College Orchestra; violin soloists - Mark O'Connor and Berklee student Juigi Kang When Mark O'Connor and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg premiered his "Double Violin Concerto" with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2000, the Chicago Sun-Times described the incredible evening: "The Nutcracker Suite' dancing through warm summer air, a double violin concerto that prompted the kind of mid-performance applause usually heard in a jazz club. The mood definitely was looser than usual at Saturday night's Chicago Symphony Orchestra concert" Written in 1997, and recorded live in 2003 in Denver's Boettcher Hall, the Double Violin Concerto is Mark O'Connor at his genre bending finest. Under the baton of Maestra Marin Alsop (now at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra), the soloists and the spectacular Colorado Orchestra create a musical experience that paints vivid pictures of intimate jazz clubs and glamorous dance floors. The Denver Post wrote of a performance of the Double Concerto: "Because the three-section piece keys so much on the soloists, it is essential to have first-rate performers with a real sense of showmanship. And the symphony got exactly that in O'Connor, a mean folk and jazz fiddler, and Salerno-Sonnenberg, a classical virtuosa with the ideal spunk, theatricality and versatility for such crossover music. They are perfectly matched -- both incredible talents." Rocky Mountain News weighed in calling the "Double ...

DJ Premier & The Berklee Symphony - Regeneration (Feat. Nas) [Lyrics in Description]
DJ Premier & The Berklee Symphony - Regeneration (Feat. Nas) [Lyrics in Description]
DJ Premier's new Classical remix for RE:GENERATION featuring Nas and the Berklee Symphony Orchestra. DJ Premier was given Classical and began his immersion into the genre with Bruce Adolphe, a former classical music professor at Juilliard. They met at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music not far from DJ Premier's home in NY. After learning about classical music theory, the inspirations of some of the genre's most profound composers and how traditional pieces are structured, DJ Premier went out and bought tons of classical symphonies on vinyl to mash up his own creation. We then took that mash-up and orchestrated it for sheet music. In the first step of the actual recording process, DJ Premier partnered with Stephen Webber, a professor and conductor at the Berklee College of Music. Steven taught Premier how to conduct and helped him in studio with the 58-piece Berklee Symphony Orchestra you hear on the track. Of all the takes, the one you hear is the "wild" version (which means they recorded it without the metronome in their headphones) DJ Premier conducted himself. Then DJ Premier brought that instrumental track back home to NY and Nas laid down his rhyme on top of it. DJ Premier has not produced a track for Nas since "2nd Childhood", in 2001 on the "Stillmatic" album. Lyrics interpreted by CCooke3: [Nas] Regeneration Composer; DJ Premier Maestro; Sir Nas Yeah Nas in the building Premier's in the building Yeah This is how we redefine, the music Let's go Yeah, ya'll know I ...

Kate Schutt EPK
Kate Schutt EPK
Kate Schutts music is a sexy, edgy mix of original jazz and pop. BIO Raised in Chadds Ford, PA, Kate Schutt was schooled in Boston, both at Harvards English department, where she studied the influence of jazz on modern poetry, and at Berklee College of Music, where she studied jazz guitar. Now living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Kate is carving out a niche as a writer, arranger, and performer of new jazz standards on both sides of the border. Her persuasive melodies and arrangements show a deep involvement with the history of jazz and a willingness to flirt with pop gestures and attitudes. Kate won the Grand Prize in the jazz category of the 2007 John Lennon Songwriting Competition for her song How Much in Love. Kates newest album, TELEPHONE GAME, follows closely on the heels of her critically acclaimed debut studio album NO LOVE LOST, which All About Jazz called meticulously composed and beautifully performed. BUZZ I'm kicking myself that I missed Kate Schutt's recent visit to the Tin Angel. Her self-released and exquisitely produced "No Love Lost" (A-) is one of the finer female singer-songwriter sets of the year. --Philadelphia Daily News "From the first notes I heard, I knew Kate was the real deal. A huge talent." -- Maria Schneider, Grammy-winning composer/arranger

Women Of The World
Women Of The World
Boston based vocal group, women of the world performed at Drom, NYC. April 7, 2012. Women of the World is an international vocal ensemble currently based in Boston. What started out as a dream three years ago, has become a real musical force. Ayumi Ueda, a Berklee College of Music student from Japan sought to create an eclectic ensemble of women from all over the globe in order to create music for peace. In 2008, Ayumi joined forces with other Berklee students, Ali Rapetti from the United States, Giorgia Renosto from Italy, and Annette Philip from India in order to manifest this vision. From the group's very beginning, they delighted in sharing the beauty of different cultures and what that cross-pollination sounded like in music.

Robert Gillies - Wage A Little Peace
Robert Gillies - Wage A Little Peace
It's the very end of my stay at home and I realised that you can't write a song with the lines " ... well a promise is a promise 'til the day that you're dead, now I see - you gotta act on what you say ... " and then not do what you said you'd do. So I stayed up and recorded Wage A Little Peace, albeit in a slightly less alert state than usual, but in a very cool long-sleeved shirt, so I guess that makes up for it! The tab is available here (Capo 2nd Fret): robertgillies.com.b1.hostkarma.com This song earned an honourable mention in the pop category at the 2008 SongDoor International Songwriting Contest. © Robert Gillies 2008
