Glass Live at Progman Cometh with Special Guests Elton Dean & Pete Pendras
Here is Glass opening up the inaugural Progman Cometh Festival. Joining us onstage is the legendary Elton Dean on sax and our old friend and guitarist extraordinaire Pete Pendras. Glass did two 45 minute sets that first night. This is an excerpt from the first set entitled "Dedicated to Mike (but we can't find him)". Soft Machine fans will know what that means. It was an incredible three days and nights and getting to play and hangout with so many of our musical heroes was a high point.

Glass Live Progman - Elton Dean & Jeff Sherman
I was very fortunate to get to play a duet with the legendary saxophonist Elton Dean as a short intermission piece between our two sets at Progman Cometh. Our Mellotron Mk VI needed to have its tape-frame changed before the second set. So while the stage crew and my brother Greg scurried to do that, Elton lent his amazing intuitive musical ability to a song of mine entitled "Miles, Monk and Mom". I added Elton's name to the other musical giants in the title as a way of thanking him for his great intuitive playing. It's now referred to as "Miles, Monk Elton and Mom". And no, my mom wasn't a musical giant just a giant jazz and big band fan who's record collection I'm sure influenced my brother and I when we were growing up.

Kenny A part 2
Drummer Kenny Aronoff at Webber Academy
After graduating from Indiana University, in 1976, where he studied under the acclaimed tympanist George Gaber, Aronoff passed on several symphony orchestra offers and decided to head for the East Coast where he studied drum set in Boston and New York. During this time he began to concentrate on jazz and fusion music, and in 1977 he returned to Bloomington, Indiana and spent several years in a popular local band, playing throughout the Midwest.
In 1980 he joined John Mellencamp's band, recording 10 albums and touring with him over a 17-year period.
In the mid-1980s, Kenny began to develop an enormously successful career as a studio musician, playing on hundreds of records as well as touring worldwide with many artists. Aronoff has recorded with musicians such as Tony Iommi, John Mellencamp, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bob Seger, John Fogerty, Melissa Etheridge, Jon Bon Jovi, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Alanis Morissette, The Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cinderella, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Puddle of Mudd, Avril Lavigne, Joe Cocker, B. B. King, Mick Jagger, Ray Charles, M2M, Alice Cooper, The BoDeans, Meat Loaf, Bonnie Raitt, Ricky Martin, Santana, Trey Anastasio, GB Leighton, Michelle Branch, Marion Raven, Vince Gill, Gladys Knight, Aaron Neville, Trisha Yearwood, Patti LaBelle, George Jones, Conway Twitty, The Buddy Rich Big Band, Jefferson Airplane, Jason Sadites, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alex Band, Johnny Cash, Betty Moon, Brooke White, Stevie Nicks and Switchblade Glory.

Caleb - Woman Of Distinction (great uk psych 1967)
(Dedicated to the most beautiful woman of distinction ever, Francoise Hardy) :) Caleb Quaye released this single under the name Caleb, with "Baby Your Phrasing is Bad" as flip side for Philips Records in 1967. He used session musicians, including David Hynes (from The Mirage), and probably Elton John is on keyboards. Both songs later resurfaced in several compilations. In the early sixties, he entered the band Bluesology: Caleb Quaye (guitar) Stuart Brown (guitar) Neil Hubbard (guitar) Rex Bishop (bass) Reg Dwight (keyboards) (aka Elton John) Mark Charig (trumpet) Elton Dean (sax) Mick Inkpen (drums) Pete Gavin (drums) They were Long John Baldry's backing band. They released 3 singles from 1965 to 1967, but I don't know if this was the lineup in all those singles. There's an album called Rare tracks, where we can find Caleb playing in some tracks. In 1968 he joined the Elton John Band together with Boots Slade (bass) Malcolm Tomlinson (drums)
