Of the characters in Greek mythology called Phaethon (/ˈfeɪ.əθən/; Ancient Greek: Φαέθων, Phaéthōn, pronounced [pʰa.étʰɔ͜ɔn]), the best known was the son of the Oceanid Clymene and the solar deity Apollo or Helios. Alternative, less common genealogies make him a son of Clymenus by Merope, of Helios and Rhode (thus a full brother of the Heliadae) or of Helios and Prote.
In the prevailing account, Phaethon, challenged by his playmates, sought assurance from his mother that his father was the sun god. She gave him the requested assurance and told him to turn to his father for confirmation. He asked his father for some proof that would demonstrate his relationship with the sun. When the god promised to grant him whatever he wanted, he insisted on being allowed to drive the sun chariot for a day. Placed in charge of the chariot, he was unable to control the horses. The earth was in danger of being burnt up and, to prevent this disaster, Zeus killed him with a thunderbolt.
The name "Phaethon", which means "Shining One", was given also to Phaethon (son of Eos), to one of the horses of Eos (the Dawn), the Sun, the constellation Auriga, and the planet Jupiter, while as an adjective it was used to describe the sun and the moon. In some accounts the planet referred to by this name is not Jupiter but Saturn.

In my High School English class Sophomore year, two friends and I were assigned a project. That assignment was to retell two Greek myths in a way that would be entertaining and educational for the class. When we met to discuss the best way to make the project, we figured it would be easiest to hand-draw Microsoft Paint drawings and use powerpoint animation to make a movie. 40 hours later, we realized we were dead wrong...

The Phaethon Caving Light uses a piezoelectric switch for extra durability, reliability and smooth operation. This kind of switch requires 3 Newtons of pressure - it is not touch sensitive. The lamp has electronic lock-off to prevent accidental or unintended use. To turn on the light, we click the switch three times (a CLICK is a short press and release - less than 0.3 seconds press and release). The lamp will turn on at the previous lumen level. Every subsequent click will increase light level until the brightest level is reached. To drop down to the previous levels we have to press and release when we reach the desired level (a PRESS is a longer press and hold – longer than 0.3 seconds). If we reach the lowest (dimmest) level and continue to press, the led will blink once to ind...
A new addition to the Phaethon range, the Phaethon Dual is ready for action. The Phaethon Dual maintains the same quality and design externally, but contains a far more customizable driver than previous versions. The user can operate the two LEDs both independently and simultaneously, at different, user selected levels of brightness. Katafygi Cave, "Selinitsa" Mani. The day started with a big thunderstorm but by the time it got to the wedding it was glorious sunshine. Great day, fab people.
this is the first cut of my animated short film it's currently narrated by me, although that won't be the last version. Also, we're missing the music and since i'm probably going to have to do it all on my own, i will have to make it shorter, and well, I'll probably die too. anyways... What do you think?

The red-tailed tropicbird (Phaethon rubricauda) is a seabird that nests across the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It nests in colonies on oceanic islands. The species is also known by its Maori name, amokura. The red-tailed tropicbird nests on oceanic islands in large colonies from the Hawaiian Islands to Easter Island and across to Mauritius and the Reunion Island. In Madagascar they nest on the tiny island of Nosy Ve. In Australia, they nest on Queensland's coral islands (including Lady Elliot Island) and islands off Western Australia. They disperse widely after breeding, birds ringed in Hawaii have been recovered as far away as Japan and the Philippines. They range from the Red Sea to New Zealand and Chile. When breeding, they mainly choose coral atolls with low shrubs, nesting underneat...
Highlights of the Cyprus wedding of Kayleigh and Rob. An amazing day full of love and laughter.
I am Faethon, the one, your son
My father is Helios
Sworn to the Styx
The river of the gods
And let me feel
The sky with my shine
The gates of the sunrise
With red color shine
And the dawn has opened the palaces
...And the dawn has paled
Everything is ready for the final call
The guardians of Olympus are opening the gates
I, Faethon, rule the sky
Lord of the sun for just a while
I fell over the scorpio
And I'm heading to Capricornus
Flames burst over the land
To deep valleys and darkened forest
Faethon you fool
You wounded our mother
Now expect for the coming of Thanatos
Zeus throws his thunder again
And Faethon drops lifeless to Iridanos
Pote Ksana thnitos sti xora tov ellinon
O' ellines thei, pote!
