The COTS 2 Falcon 9 successfully launches with the Dragon spacecraft on 22 May 2012. Launch occurred at 03:44 EDT (07:44 UTC) on 22 May.[20] After the launch, main engine cut-off occurred at approximately the 180 second mark, the first stage fell away, and the second stage ignited once the first stage fully separated.
