Impact Zone

The Impact Zone, also known as the Impact Wrestling Zone is the professional wrestling nickname for a sound stage in Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida. Its nickname was derived from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling's (TNA) Impact Wrestling weekly television series, which broadcast live from this venue. Between 2004 and March 7, 2013 TNA taped their broadcasts from Soundstage 21. However, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling officially terminated its lease with Universal Studios at the end of March 2013 and began to tour nationally. TNA returned to Universal Studios on November 21, 2013, but rather than going back to Soundstage 21, it went to Soundstage 19, which is smaller and holds fewer people than Soundstage 21. TNA announced that starting with their March 13, 2014 Live broadcast, Impact Wrestling will be filmed on sound stage 20,directly behind sound stage 21, the original TNA Impact Zone. Sound stage 19 was a temporary venue for Impact Wrestling tapings.

History

Soundstage 21 was originally known as the Extreme Arena and was used for the game shows Nickelodeon Guts and Global Guts from 1992-1995. In 1996 World Championship Wrestling began taping their syndicated wrestling shows WCW Pro and WCW Worldwide from Soundstage 21, now dubbed the WCW Arena. (Before then they had been taped at Disney-MGM Studios.) WCW continued to tape the shows and a few episodes of WCW Saturday Night until 1998 when Pro was canceled and Worldwide was taped before WCW Thunder. In 1999 the Roller Derby show RollerJam was filmed from the building now called the RolllerJam Arena. They left after their show was cancelled in 2001 and another wrestling company called the XWF began taping their shows there.

Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling (formerly known as TNA iMPACT!; commonly referred to as Impact) is a professional wrestling television program produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

The show debuted in the United States on Fox Sports Net on June 4, 2004, but after TNA's contract was not renegotiated in May 2005, the show was left without a television network on which to broadcast. The show began broadcasting episodes via syndication in limited markets on Urban America Television (replacing TNA's syndicated show Xplosion) and on the Internet between June 24 and September 16, 2005, before securing a deal with Spike TV, with the first show airing on October 1, 2005.

Impact first began airing episodes on Saturday nights, before later moving to Thursday nights in April 2006. It briefly moved to Monday nights in 2010 and to Wednesday nights in 2014 until its final broadcast on Spike. In 2015, the show moved to Destination America, initially airing on Friday nights before moving back to Wednesday nights on June 3, 2015. It's final broadcast on Destination America was December 16, 2015 at 11pm ET.

TNA Impact! (video game)

TNA Impact! (stylized as TNA iMPACT!) is a video game released by the professional wrestling promotion, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). The game was developed by Midway Studios Los Angeles and published by Midway Games. Although the game sold 1.5 million units, financial issues at Midway Games prevented the planned development and release of a sequel. The game was released for Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable under the title TNA Impact!: Cross the Line.

Gameplay

TNA Impact! is geared towards a quick-paced, high-impact style of play, with less emphasis on submission maneuvers. It supports up to four players at once on a console, with online support—which includes tournaments—currently standing at one-on-one. Online play is, however, limited to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Scans of the actual wrestlers were used for the game in place of hand-painted textures to include small details, such as skin texture and specific scars.Finishers are accessed by building up the "Impact! meter" displayed on the screen. In the same area a color-coded damage indicator shows the condition of characters. The game also features mini-games for escaping pin attempts and submission holds.
