Augusta, GA police officer chokes teenager
Augusta, GA police officer chokes teenager
This video is from: www.youtube.com September 14, 2009 Raw video: AUGUSTA,Ga. September 12/09.The incident that led to a school police officer being fired was caught on tape, and that video has now been released. A Richmond County Board of Education officer was fired for choking a student after the Josey/Academy of Richmond County football game at ARC stadium. The newly-released video shows the officer lunging towards the student, throwing him on the ground, after the student appears to have said "I will punch you" to the officer. The officer continues with several statements, including "I'm not your daddy, I will kill you," all the while holding the student by the throat on the ground. Seconds later, two other officers approach, separate the two, and order the officer to stay back. The officer was never ordered to take a drug test. An appeal of the officer's firing was filed with the board yesterday. The board will hear arguments and decide whether to leave the termination in place or reinstate the officer. Louis Svehla with the Richmond County School System tells News 12 the student involved in the incident is an eighth grader who attends the Laney 8th grade academy. Svehla says the principal "is aware of the incident and will be looking into any code of conduct violations by the student".

Racists Alive, Vicious in Augusta, GA DividedCity.us #1: Dr. Mallory Millender, Tom Grant on Racism
Racism Alive and Extremely Nasty in Augusta, Georgia: Civil Rights veteran Dr. Mallory Millender discusses the insidious racism problem in Augusta with investigative journalist Tom Grant on DividedCity.us In addition to spreading the word about the efforts of some to confront racism head on in Augusta, this video is a tribute to the great work of Dr. Mallory Millender - who is a mentor to activist Mr. Terence Dicks (Claiming A Street Named King). And small edits by former Augusta investigative reporter Greg Peterson as tribute to Mr. Tom Grant, who picked up the mantle after the death of investigative journalist Jay Mann (Jan Tillman Hutchens). Tom, Jay and Greg love Augusta and take seriously their duty to expose what others do not report. A former slave port, Augusta, Georgia is a racially Divided City! On opposite ends of the main street, Augusta has statues honoring Mr. James Brown and the Confederacy. In Augusta, Georgia - "racial division has been designed into the structure of government." The ultra-exclusive and powerful Master's Golf Tournament is played only miles from poverty and hungry children. Kudos for standing up against racism goes to civil rights leader Dr. Mallory Millender. Kudos for having the guts to report on these "old south" to goes to television producers Tom Grant and Jill Peterson -- and WBEK-TV Ch. 16 (103 on Comcast, 96 on Knology). Southern nationalists demonstrate in Augusta, GA
Southern nationalists demonstrate in Augusta, GA
This Sunday, another Southern patriot and myself decided on the spur of the moment to do a little mini-demonstration and try to generate some good will for our symbols here in the local Aiken, SC -- Augusta, GA area. We met on the Jefferson Davis Memorial Bridge (commonly referred to as the "Fifth Street Bridge") and braved 100 degree heat to fly the colours and wave to passers-by. The response was nearly entirely positive. The vast majority of people, Black, White and Hispanic, waved back to us. Many folks gave us thumbs up and some enthusiastically honked their horns and shouted praise. One man in a van with New York plates stuck his hand out the window and gave us a very energetic thumbs up. In fact, he passed by a little later and again cheered us on! Several folks who were enjoying the afternoon on boats on the Savannah River below us shouted up their approval or wave and gave us thumbs up. In an hour and forty minutes we had only three negative responses. Two less than civilised people yelled profanities at us and one driver flipped us the middle finger. But all in all it was a fun time and we were very happy at the positive feedback from the people. We showed that as few as two patriots can get together, show the colours and rally a little good will for our symbols and our cause. It seems that the Confederate colours are still very popular in our part of Dixie! Many more small protests such as these will be taking place in the near future in the Aiken-Augusta area ...

Confederate cemeteries in Augusta, GA & N. Augusta, SC
All we ask is to be let alone. -Jefferson Davis --- I worked night and day for twelve years to prevent the war, but I could not. The North was mad and blind, would not let us govern ourselves, and so the war came. -Jefferson Davis --- Once you get them running, you stay right on top of them, and that way a small force can defeat a large one every time... Only thus can a weaker country cope with a stronger; it must make up in activity what it lacks in strength. Who could not conquer with such troops as these? My troops may fail to take a position, but are never driven from one! -Stonewall Jackson --- Captain, my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave. -Stonewall Jackson --- Our God was my shield. His protecting care is an additional cause for gratitude. I see from the number of physicians that you think my condition dangerous, but I thank God, if it is His will, that I am ready to go. Let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees . . . -Stonewall Jackson --- A true man of honor feels humbled himself when he cannot help humbling others. -Robert E. Lee --- Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less. -Robert E. Lee --- I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to ...
