REFRAIN (Original 1973 version) - Jose Mari Chan
This original version from 1973 is almost identical to the later version except for a reference to the stock market and the Dow-Jones at the 2:10 mark, which is missing in the more recent version. Also found in this LP is the original version of "Can We Just Stop And Talk A While", which is longer and begins with a spoken intro.

No more rolling? She might refrain. Slight correction around 3:10: "I'm sprawled out on a road with no end in sight, and it's crumbling to pieces." Nana Mizuki - refrain -classico-
Nana Mizuki - refrain -classico-
Web: radiomanga.net jbestmusic.blogspot.com http ostjmusic7.blogspot.com refrain -classico- by Nana Mizuki Album SKIPPER (2003) [audio] Nana Mizuki (水樹奈々, Mizuki Nana?), born Nana Kondō (近藤奈々, Kondō Nana?), born January 21, 1980) is a singer and voice actress (seiyū) in Japan. She was born in Niihama, Ehime, Japan. She is admired by many of her fellow seiyū and fans because she has a great amount of power and strength in her singing voice, which surprises many fans due to her regularly petite nature. She was also the winner of the "Best Musical Performance" award in the first Seiyū Awards. She has been announced to be the voice of Rena Lanford in the PSP remake of Star Ocean: Second Story, many of the characters whom she has voiced were initially very shy/soft-spoken (however, after interactions with other people, they gradually opened up (eg Fate, Lili, Nyamo, Hinata, and Wrath), six of her characters have romantic feelings for the main characters (eg Oboro from Basilisk, Fate Testarossa from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Hinata Hyūga from Naruto, Colette Brunel from Tales of Symphonia, Tamao Tamamura from Shaman King, and Moka Akashiya from Rosario + Vampire), some of her characters craved maternal attention (eg Fate, Wrath and Maria), and she was also part of the seiyu quartet "Prits", alongside Yumiko Kobayashi, Natsuko Kuwatani and Hisayo Mochizuki (all four voiced characters in the anime Sister Princess).

(PC/Windows) RefRain ~Prism Memories~ MRS Central 05-00 Normal
Official site: www.rebrank.org For those interested in purchasing this game, Paletweb and White-Canvas are both carrying copies. They ship internationally. The cost is around $20, maybe a bit more but you just don't get PC retail shooters like this anymore! Well, this kind of concludes my RefRain videos. Wanted to show the final boss and the True Last Boss using Mews, my insta-favourite character and ship. Ecce Homo, people. I'm only a man so forgive those stupid deaths in the middle. This was the first time I 1cc'd the game and got to the TLB. The final boss seems to go, at first, into Hellsinker mode. MRS system/Violet seems to be the wife of Garland, that epic TOTAL KARMA COMPRESSOR SYSTEM (always in caps). Hell, you even have to fill its health pretty much like the "Satisfaction Levels" present in Segment 8. Pity you don't get three different flavours of final bosses, heh. Nor any extra stages for that matter. Quite bare bones on that department. The TLB is your usual cousin of the Stone-Like, pretty much a mandatory in any shooter. It's that or another brother of Hibachi. Those two have a big family! RefRain full version was finally released during Comiket 80. A lot changed since that C78 version I got and, overall, they pretty much polished most of the stuff that bothered me. I can only hope their next STG will be even more awesome! And absolutely looking forward for the OST! Music is techno punchi punchi awesome.

RefRain ~Prism Memories~ C78. Relation Ver. - CENTRAL 04
RefRain ~Prism Memories~ C78. Relation Ver. - CENTRAL 04
Official site: www.rebrank.org Last video of this playthrough. This is where things start to get complicated. Previously, Central 03 had some hard moments but most of them were based on memorisation. Here you have a lot of attacks that are targeted at you so you need to dodge properly and avoid a lot of stuff at the same time besides your usual mass of bullets. In fact, I think that this stage marks a completely different direction compared to the previous 3. It's like they suddenly decided to go Ikaruga/RSG on us and feature: Moving walls Turrets on platforms Circular fortress firing lasers and stuff nonstop as well as enemies coming from left and right The opening moments are your usual Samidare/RefRain fare. Nothing a bit of memorisation won't help you sort out. Sometimes the speed at which things come at you can take you off guard though. S"·$ is damn fast! Whatever lag you see it's due to the video recording program. I don't know what kind of script/code is set when the special barrages are called but they seem to really lag the game by a whole lot. Hope they improve that before the release. Despite this, I kind of like this stage compared to the previous ones because it does put you at the edge a bit more with the aimed attacks and the boss comes with a special quirk: it's invincible to your regular attacks so you have to charge up your MEFA2 to beat it. And to make things worse: you can only increase your meter by hitting the circular boss (the one that is always <b>...</b>

RefRain - Prism Memories (C75) All Clear (1-3)
RefRain - Prism Memories (C75) All Clear (1-3)
This is C75 preview version of RefRain ~ prism memories. A game by the makers of Samidare and it shows. Ship: Blitz Lester (Tee) Comments: Pretty good run. Every boss 16X'd and completely no miss so I'm quite satisfied. You have a shield that can take up to one shot and it recharges between levels and apparently during stages on certain conditions but I'm not exactly sure. They really need to buff up the bosses for future versions (At least 3x HP would be nice), the third boss didn't even use its special attack yet. This game is a little too easy, the graphics are nice and the special weapons are cool but they're just too powerful and them being solution to everything is rather boring (And I was using the weaker ship in firepower). Final Score 2'751'440 Also I apologize if the video quality isn't perfect since FRAPS refused to work with me on this.

RefRain ~Prism Memories~ C78. Relation Ver. - CENTRAL 02
RefRain ~Prism Memories~ C78. Relation Ver. - CENTRAL 02
Site: www.rebrank.org Diver Mews Ship: Bronx Terror Central 02, the stage we know the most from previous RefRain trials and versions. Not much has been touched here except for the extra barrage on the big ships and a slightly increased delay on the mid-boss special attack (although the delay you see here is created by the recording program). The boss seems to attack in tidier patterns. Also, Bronx Terror options seem to behave almost like the Protoss Carrier interceptors! Somehow, the analogy made the ship more awesome than I expected but the terribly slow speed is still quite bad and I start suffering from it, especially during the next stage where I keep making stupid mistakes. On stage 4 it gets really complicated to the point I preferred to switch to Must Viper and Miria to clear it, heh. By the looks of the game, it seems it will have like 6 or 7 stages, hell, maybe a couple more. I hope so but they have to be, like, super epic or something.
