The star of a children's television show grapples with the meaning of fame. Steve Burns is best known for playing 'Steve' on Nickelodeon's Blue's Clues from 1996-2002. Since then, he has released a rock record for grown ups that received pretty good reviews, toured with The Flaming Lips, made an album of music for children, and appeared in strange plays, mostly in Brooklyn. We first met Mike at the US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, where he told one of the most searingly beautiful stories ever told at the Moth. It was a comedy festival, but he had everyone in the audience weeping. We mourn Mike and the stories we won't get to hear, and send our best to his family and friends. As JT LeRoy, Laura Albert is the author of the novels "Sarah" and "Harold's End," as well as the story collection "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things." JT's fiction has also been published in the anthologies "Best American Non-Required Reading 2003" and "MTV's Lit Riffs," as well as the literary magazines McSweeney's, Zoetrope: All Story and Memorious. JT's journalism has been published in the New York Times, Spin, Interview, Vogue, Black Book and many other publications. A man's dream job turns into a nightmare Bingham Ray, a renowned independent film executive, became one of the firsts to bring little known art-house cinema to a larger US audience when he co-founded October Films in 1991. Since then, he has had his hands in the successes of some of the most influential and critically acclaimed indie films including Bowling for Columbine, Hotel Rwanda, Lars and the Real Girl, and Death at a Funeral. Following his work at both United Artists andSidney Kimmel entertainment, Ray had most recently taken on the title of executive director at the San Francisco Film Society. Bingham died suddenly on January 23rd, 2012 while at the Sundance Film Festival. He will be dearly missed.
