The Mid Ocean Club was established as a private members Club in 1951. Situated in picturesque Tucker'sTown in Bermuda it offers unrivalled facilities to a strong international community of members and their guests. A true home away from home, members from the fours corners of the world are drawn back to its peaceful rolling greens, private beaches, and the warm embrace of the Clubhouse.
We have 21 Cottages on the Mid Ocean Property available to Members and their Guests. Each cottage features a spacious bedroom, with a private walk-out patio. The spacious bedroom has an adjoining hall area with a coffee machine, small refrigerator and other beverage items. The luxurious bathroom has a shower and a separate dressing area with two sinks for convenience. Rooms are also equipped with business amenities and high speed Internet access

The Mid Ocean Club is a private 6,520 yard, 18-hole golf course in Tucker's Town, Bermuda. Designed by Charles Blair Macdonald in 1921, it was modified to its current design in 1953 by Robert Trent Jones. It is consistently placed highly among world courses and is ranked 45th by Golf Digest for courses outside the United States[1]. The Mid Ocean Club hosted its second PGA Grand Slam of Golf in October 2008. Previously, the tournament had its home at Poipu Bay Golf Course in Hawaii.
The Mid Ocean Club course has been played by many heads of state such as George H. W. Bush, Winston Churchill, Dwight Eisenhower, and the Duke of Windsor[2]. Some of the more well-known holes include the par-3 "Redan" 17th hole, the par-4 18th hole, as well as the signature par-4 5th.
Ian Fleming mentions the club in his James Bond short story Quantum of Solace, describing the course as a "fine links where all the quality play and get together at the club afterwards for gossip and drinks".

Big wave surfing is the ultimate celebration of extreme surfing. Challenging deadly waves in harsh weather and ocean conditions takes a very serious approach.
Big wave surfers are not interested in performance. Forget perfect cutbacks, stunning floaters or breathless aerial antics. The profile of a big wave rider is the result of several unparalleled personal characteristics.
Fear is always present in a 50-foot wave. Fear is the best way of managing the risk of paddling for a huge wave face, which doesn't tell you what is going to happen and how it is going to break.
Monster waves tend to move quickly and force surfers to get away of the powerful whitewater. Big waves are lethal even for the most experienced extreme riders. The best big wave surf spots in the world have claimed several lives in the last decades.
Malik Joyeux, Sion Milosky, Moto Watanabe, Mark Foo, Donnie Solomon, Todd Chesser, Dickie Cross and Peter Davi have passed away in extreme surfing conditions. Wipeouts, severe coral reef injuries and drowning are the most common causes of death in big wave surfing.
The pioneers of big wave surfing started to eye impossible killer rides in the 1940's. In the 1960's, waves like Pipeline and Waimea increased the popularity of paddling into new wave heights. Going over the falls was the daily menu.
Laird Hamilton is the first professional big wave surfer. The waterman from Maui defies fast, hollow and high waves with a full-time training and previous preparation. Hamilton, the father of tow-in surfing, takes on the entire big wave spots of the Hawaiian Islands, in helicopter style.
Laird was born with the gene of defying danger. He designs and prepares his own surfboards and wetsuits. Wherever heavy waves break, Hamilton is there to ride them: Mavericks, Cortes Bank, Dungeons.
In 2000, Laird Hamilton surfs what is considered the heaviest wave of all time. The "Millennium Wave" was ridden in the reef of Teahupoo, in Tahiti, and set a new standard for big wave surfing.
Garrett McNamara is one of the toughest big wave challengers. After riding a spectacular 78-foot wave in Nazaré, Portugal, the Hawaiian waterman entered the Guinness World Records with the biggest wave ever surfed.
The 55 best big wave surfers of all time is an exclusive extreme surfing club. From Jaws to Mavericks, Puerto Escondido, Punta Lobos, Ghost Trees, Belharra, Shipstern Bluff and Todos Santos, these riders have set up a new scale in the definition of giant waves. They are:

Portugal is fast becoming one of the world's epicentre's for surfing.. and with consistent quality waves, a variety of beautiful beaches and seriously cheap beer its not hard to see why!! Peniche itself is a small, but really old town built on the fishing industry and the ocean. It is centred on a Peninsula that sticks right out into the Atlantic and seems to be a magnet for waves catching swell like a baseball glove.
On offer here is a variety of waves, from the famed Super Tubos on the South side of Peniche where they hold an annual World Championship Tour event, to the beautiful beaches on the North like Lagida and Almagreira.
In the middle of all this is the small beachside 'suburb' of Baleal. It has a beach that stretches for 3.5 km's all the way South to Peniche and offers some really fun waves for advanced surfers and excellent learning conditions. Baleal itself has become a mecca for people learning to surf in Europe.. as I said before it is cheap, the waves are perfect to learn on and the town from June to October has a really fun night life with plenty of beach bars to help you celebrate a perfect day of surfing.
Baleal holds a special place in my heart as I have worked there for the last 2 years and after seeing numerous other surf camps around the world I can tell you now that this is certainly one of the best. This camp is still family owned and is the oldest camp in Portugal so you know it is good and the 2 brothers that run it put in a lot of effort to ensure their guests have the time of their lives.
The best part of this camp is that it is located directly on the beach. Most of the other camps in the area have to drive every morning to the beach, up pack all the equipment and stay there all day rain, hail or shine. This is not the case here with the Surf Camp/Restaurant/Bar situated right on the sand dunes in front of one of the best waves in the area.
If you are wanting to do a surf trip to Portugal (advanced or beginner) look no further. This is definitely the place to come.
The best time to come to Baleal depends on what you are looking for from your holiday. If you want to party as well as surf July & August are perfect. If you are looking for big waves on the banks of Super Tubos I would say September through to December are ideal and if you want to see the pro's in action, the World Tour Circus comes to town in middle to late October.
At a pinch, however, if I were asked my favourite month there I would Say September is the time to go. Crowds slow down, the water is warmer and there is still plenty of nightlife around if you're interested.. not to mention conditions on the water are awesome.

Although Port Moresby is surrounded by Central Province, of which it is also the capital, it is not part of that province, but forms the National Capital District.

Port Moresby Nature Park (formerly The National Botanical Gardens) A must for the visitor. Located next to University of Papua New Guinea, it has some amazing examples of PNG wildlife such as birds of paradise, cassowaries, tree kangaroos, multiple wallaby species, and many other native bird species. Lush, tropical and well kept gardens. A great break from the dry, dusty surrounds and bustle of the capital city. If you are lucky you might catch a wedding while you are there as some locals like to conduct the ceremony in the gardens.
Port Moresby Golf Club A nice golf course located right across from the government buildings. The prices are quite acceptable for visitors. Be careful, crocodiles inhabit the water holes of the golf course. The main building has a nice restaurant where one can have lunch and have a few SP beers (South Pacific beers) after a round of golf.
The Ela Beach Craft Market Run by the Ela Murray International School and held on the last Saturday of each month, this market brings together local artifacts from all over Papua New Guinea. An easy way to get some beautiful carvings, handwoven baskets, or any of a number of other things to bring home as souvenirs.
Touaguba Hill Perhaps not so much to see, but this is where the ambassadorial residences are located and is also where many of the well-to-do expats and locals live. There is a nice view from the top of the hill overlooking the centre of the city and the ocean.
Moitaka Wildlife Sanctuary, Sir Hubert Murray Highway. The Moitaka Wildlife Sanctuary is now closed for re-development.
Hiri Moale Festival. This takes place on the weekend of PNG's Independence Day in mid-September. The centrepiece is a race of up to 100 traditional Lakatoi canoes, recalling the sea voyages undertaken by the Motuan people from the Port Moresby area who exchanged sago and clay pots with the people of neighbouring Gulf Province. The departure of the canoes from Port Moresby's Ela Beach is really spectacular. The Festival is the city's main cultural show with traditional performances, as well as the canoes.

We checked out the Costa Adele golf club in the South of Tenerife. And when Kate says “checked out”, she means that we basically drove the golf carts around very responsibly and executed some brilliant golfing skills.
Tenerife is a hot-spot when it comes to golf because of that year-round warm weather and also some really beautiful views at some of these courses too.
Yeah, the Costa Adele golf course has some amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Adele Mountains, probably why it’s super-duper popular.
There are 9- and 18-hole courses and once you’ve played all of those, you can get into the clubhouse where there’s a bar and a restaurant, which is far more up my street. - Me too.
You’ll be paying about what you’d pay in the UK. - And the dress code is the same as the UK too, so think tailored shorts, collared shirts and be aware that the Canary Islands Golf Club Association has banned spiked shoes so no stilettos I’m afraid.
So that’s a little bit about the Costa Adele Golf Club. Obviously there are more dotted around the island, lots of different levels of…ability? Ability. So just make sure you end up on the right golf course. Do your research. And they get busy pretty early on so book in advance. Very sound advice.

The northern half of the beach has been annexed by the ultra-luxurious Laguna Complex of five-star hotels, but there's still plenty of sand to share. Travellers without a super-sized budget shouldn't be scared off by this mega-resort as the southern stretch is home to enough mid-range options that Bang Tao is still worth considering.
The area around Bang Tao was formerly tin-mining country and the Laguna Complex's artificial lakes are actually filled-in pits. Much of northern Phuket, Bang Tao included, was almost completely abandoned when the mines ran dry. It wasn't until droves of tourists began to arrive that interest in Bang Tao was re-sparked, and parcels of land were quickly (and sometimes illicitly) snatched up by property developers.

Several bridges connect it to Miami. It’s a municipality in its own right, even though many visitors think that it is part of Miami. The best time to visit is between November and April because the weather is dry and not as hot and humid as during the summer months.
Many start their day in Miami Beach early. So do the pelicans that hunt in the waters of Biscayne Bay for their breakfast just after sunrise.
Standup paddleboarding, enjoying a barefoot walk or a run on the beach, swimming, or yoga are a few of the great ways to start the morning in Miami Beach.
Miami Beach is well-known worldwide for its… you guessed it — beaches! Whether you lounge under an umbrella at one of the boutique hotel beaches around Twentieth Street, or join the locals for some sunshine and people-watching around Third Street, there is something for everyone.
The Fisher Island is just across the water. It is an exclusive neighbourhood only accessible by private boat or a ferry. The ownership changed through its history but until the 1980s it used to be owned by one family. Now there are apartment buildings and mansions there owned by America’s “rich and famous”. The total population of this island as of the 2000 census is just under 500 people. It is possible to visit Fisher Island if you have an invitation from a resident or are going to the Fisher Island Club.
Many of the hotels and vacation rentals in condominiums are a popular place to stay for “snowbirds” that escape the cold of the Northern USA and Canada during the winter months. Summer is the off-season here because of the heat. Many of the rentals are empty during the summer.
Miami is famous for its Art Deco architecture. Many of the Art Deco buildings are located around the South Beach near Ocean Drive. Most of them were erected between mid 1920s and mid 1940s, and the district has the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world. The pastel tone buildings, the palm trees, the neon signs — as soon as you enter this area you will recognize it.
Recently the area became known as the center of the art, hosting the annual art show, Art Basel Miami Beach. The show features contemporary art works from several hundred art galleries from several dozen countries.
Now let us take a stroll along the boardwalk, which runs along the beach for 4 miles (or 6 kilometers). Many enjoy jogging, or rollerblading along it, or you could simply walk to find your favourite beach. Some of the boardwalk is paved, some of it is a raised wooden deck, and all along the boardwalk the views of the beach are breathtaking.
In 2014 the new South Pointe Park Pier was opened at the Southern edge of Miami Beach. It replaced the old structure that has been deemed unsafe for use.
By noon there are many people at the beach swimming, exercising, taking photos. Even though it could get a bit crowded you can sometimes glimpse manatees just off the shore.
Beach volleyball is one of the favourite past-times, and there are nets in South Beach around the Ocean Drive that are free for use.

This is a 52-hectare (128-acre) theme park located in Carlsbad, 30 miles north of San Diego and one hour's drive south of Anaheim. The park is so far the only theme park in the US created by the Danish toy-making Lego company. It offers interactive attractions, family rides, shows, restaurants, shopping and beautiful landscape features specially geared for children aged two to 12 and their families. There are more than 15,000 Lego models in the park created from more than 30 million Lego bricks.
