Mormon Missionaries: Brigham Young - The Book of Mormon
Mormon Missionaries: Brigham Young - The Book of Mormon
www.youtube.com is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church. This clip portrays Brigham Young describing how early Mormon missionaries touched his heart by the power of a simple testimony of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Brigham Young later joined the LDS Church and became the second president and prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Once converted to Mormonism, Brigham proclaimed and defended the Book of Mormon. On his first mission to the Eastern states as a Mormon missionary, he experienced a hostile encounter with a Boston minister. Brigham found the best solution to the problem was to share his testimony of the Book of Mormon. He wrote, "We bore testimony of the Book of Mormon and drowned him in his own words and let him go." Brigham was fearless in his declaration of the Book of Mormon as the word of God, as a missionary and Church leader. He occasionally referred to the large number of witnesses it had: "How many witnesses has the Book of Mormon? Hundreds and thousands are now living upon the earth, who testify to its truth." On one of his missionary travels, he listened to several religious leaders attempt to prove that everyone ought to believe in the reality of the Lord Jesus Christ because of the miracles he performed that were recorded in the New Testament. Using their same logic, Brigham observed that if eight New Testament authors, "who have been dead for about seventeen hundred years," were enough to ...

Mormon Church Losing Members.
Mormon Church Losing Members.
The LDS church is losing members at record numbers. Link to Reuters Article. www.reuters.com No suprises there. I once investigated and attended the church for two years. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the church leadership manipulates and deceives it's membership and the public alike with it's teaching manuals. I have alot of their manuals and they are whitewashed with a deceptive history of events and omission of facts which would change dramatically how we perceive those early LDS leaders. For instance Joseph Smith was always portrayed as some ideal faithfull wonderfull monogomous husband and family man? The real Joseph Smith was more like a husband from hell in my opinion and not like I was taught in church. Yes, many of the ordinary members are just sincere people and I feel sorry for them and feel they deserve better than they are getting. A minority of them are dangerous deluded religious Idiots though.

Why I Left the Mormon Church
Why I Left the Mormon Church
For those who have never asked me, or who believe the people only leave the Mormon church because of sinfulness or shortcoming on the part of the individual--this is my story of why I left the Mormon church. To answer some of the common comments/questions... My shirt says "I'm not short, I'm fun size." Because I'm short. I have continued researching Christianity and other religions, but still believe Christianity. I did look at the Mormon perspective, and still research, and continue to find more reasons to stay away. Many of the things that cause me to find the Mormon religion to be false are based on Mormon-approved/published sources. Quite simply, no, I'm never coming back to the religion. I do look young, but I promise, I was and adult when I was married, and I'd had a little bit of college when I got married. Perhaps I was young by today's standards, but certainly not too young. My husband (then fiance) did believe in the church when he chose to get baptized, but he was under the impression that it was just a Christian religion. Being a good Mormon girl who was very concerned about being sealed, I was torn between my religion and the man I loved. But, I would not have left the religion for him, because I was worried about the eternal consequences. He caused me to research, but it was the research that caused me to leave. Yeah, my laptop camera has bad quality. My subsequent videos have been recorded on a digital camera, which has to be propped up and all so its a ...

LDS (mormon) Church knows SEO with Avinash Kaushik, Google, at SES Chicago 2010
Byron Gordon, SEO-PR, interviews Avinash Kaushik, Analytics Evangelist, author, and keynoter at SES Chicago 2010. Avinash describes his love for using tag clouds to help visualize tons of keywords and cites the example of the LDS (mormon) Church, which features great diversity in its keyword terms to attract a great deal of Web traffic. LDS church ranks in the top 3 on Google for the term 'church.' Avinash says search marketers can learn a lot from the seo work done by the LDS church to its website. Next, Avinash talks about the overemphasis companies place on the head of search rather than the tail. Companies spend too much time fixated on just 10 terms instead of on the magic that long-tail keyword terms provide. To use advanced visualization techniques can help companies bring all of the necessary data on a single page and give them success in identifying those keyword terms that will boost their SEO. Finally, Avinash stresses how companies need to move away from the traditional model of revenue and conversion rates and judge SEO in terms of the economic value it provides. Economic value is quantifying what value was added to the business for every job the site is trying to do. LDS Church Leaders preparing us for the 2nd Coming of Christ
LDS Church Leaders preparing us for the 2nd Coming of Christ
For the past couple of weeks I have felt the need to create another youtube video. When these promptings come, it is difficult for me to focus on anything else until the video is complete. Well it is finally done. I share this with the hope that is might touch another person's life whether you are LDS or not and give them the inspiration and motivation to prepare a little harder for the "great and dreadful day of the Lord". which I feel is closer than we realize. Please share this with anyone that you would benefit from watching it. I would love to hear people's thoughts and feelings after they watch it. We are the chosen generation who needs to prepare for the second Coming of the Savior. We are on a mission to prove whether or not we will persevere in a world ripening in iniquity. We are among the elect whom the Lord has called during this "eleventh hour" to labor in His vineyard, a vineyard that has become corrupted every whit" and which only a few "doeth good". We are those few.. (excerpts for Sheri Dew) People of all faiths, LDS, Protestants, Baptists, good men and women all over the world are preparing to meet Christ. I personally look forward to the day.

Mormon Stories #212: Dr. William Bradshaw Part 4 of 5 - Homosexuality and the LDS Church
Part 4 -- Homosexuality and the LDS Church In this episode, John Dehlin interviews one of his former professors and mentors, Dr. William Bradshaw, on a wide variety of topics. Dr. Bradshaw has just recently retired from a rich and fulfilling career as a microbiology professor at BYU in which he influenced thousands of students to continually be open to the best thinking of the sciences while still nurturing a robust, mature faith and spiritual life. Many report Dr. Bradshaw's classes and their various interactions with him as pivotal to their finding a way to value the wisdom generated in both their heads and their hearts. In this far-ranging discussion, Dr. Bradshaw takes us through the arc of his life, including his mission, experiences at Harvard, the circumstances of his career choice, and the surprise call he and his wife Marge received to serve as very young mission presidents in Hong Kong, during which service they had to wrestle with opening and closing missionary work in Vietnam. Dr. Bradshaw relates stories from his career at BYU, talks about science and religion issues, and reveals the way he faces challenges to his faith from Mormon history and scriptural studies. Many Mormon Stories podcast listeners will already be familiar with one aspect of Dr. Bradshaw's life from Episode 191, which featured a recording of the most recent lecture he gave at BYU on the biological origins of homosexuality--a lecture he has arranged and given every year for the past several ...

Mormon Church History - LDS Zion's Camp - 1/3
www.youtube.com is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church. On May 5, 1834 Joseph Smith, prophet and leader of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (Mormon Church), led 85 men out of Kirtland, Ohio, towards Missouri. Their purpose was to help the Mormons in Missouri whose land, homes and possessions had been taken from them by mobs. As they marched, recruits joined them. When the last group of recruits arrived, there were a little over 200 men, 12 women and 9 children. The oldest volunteer was Samuel Baker who was 79, and the youngest was George A. Smith, Joseph Smith's cousin, he was only 16. The Lord had commanded Joseph Smith to gather 500 men to the cause, or as many as would volunteer. Thus, the group was smaller than the Lord had requested. The men of Zion's Camp walked the 900 mile one-way trip. They usually walked between 20 and 40 miles per day. Brigham Young, second Mormon president, who went on the trek said, "it was seldom that I ever laid down to rest before eleven or twelve o'clock at night, and we always rose very early in the morning [usually around 3 or 4 in the morning]." The group always camped on Sundays, held Church meetings, and partook of the sacrament, obeying the commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy. On June 18th, the Prophet felt the presence of danger and woke the camp early. As they marched through the city of Richmond, a woman warned them "there is a company of men lying in wait here, who are ...

☆ LDS Church Mormonism Part 1
☆ LDS Church Mormonism Part 1
Mormonism rather than being Christocentric is church-egocentric. It is twistology of theology, sedition of addition, and infusion of confusion, very radically unlike the purity, simplicity and power of devotion to Christ so gloriously lived and ministered by the church of the first century. Many Mormons remain in the LDS church due to their unwillingness to conjure the courage to research their church's history outside sanitized, revisionist sources that are the work of deliberate deception. Paul Richards, who left BYU in 1992 as BYU spokesman... 'I worked in public affairs for the church for 13 years, and I had to lie all the time...'(The Arizona Republic Oct. 10, 1993, quoted in Issue 85 (Nov. 1993) of the Salt Lake Messenger) Ken Clark, a former LDS CES Institute Director for 27 years, illustrates how the Mormon Church utilizes deceptions and outright lies to maintain control over members and potential converts to Mormonism.
