2010 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations Recap
2010 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations Recap
Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! We've got the official MTV VMA nominations list, up next. Hey everyone! Thanks for coming back to ClevverTV. I'm Dana Ward and I'm saying, let's jump right into this official nominee list for this year's MTV Video Music Awards. If we're giving a winner based on the number of nods, the 2010 victor is Lady Gaga. She earned 13 nominations - and she is the first artist to ever receive two nods in the Vid of the Year category... meanwhile Eminem got runner-up this year with 8 nominations. There were even some first-time VMA-ers including Justin Bieber for Best New Artist, Ke$ha for Best New Artist, Best Female Vid and Best Pop Video, Drake in the Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Vid Categories, BoB for Best Male Video, Best Collaboration, Best Pop Video, Best Hip Hop Video and Video of the Year. Also first timers, Florence + The Machine got 4 nods while Mumford and Sons got a nomination too. Beyonce gets some creds because her work with Gaga - in Video Phone and Telephone - got noticed. A few other artists mixed in there include Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z, Jason Derulo, Usher, Pink, Paramore, Muse, Rihanna and more. In addition to the normal BEST OF categories in hip hop, pop, rock, dance as well as the behind-the-scenes special effects, editing, direction, cinematography, choreography and art direction, Best New Artist, Best Female Video and Best Male Video are some of the coveted trophies. But, of course, Video of ...

Twitter.com - Follow Us! MTV and VMA go hand in hand. We've got the 2009 awards preview right now! Hey people! I'm Dana Ward at Clevver TV breaking down the highlights for the upcoming show before its even happens. That's right, let's start out with some of the VMA basics. The MTV fave awards show is set for a Radio City Music Hall location in New York City with last year's same host: the outrageously joking, crazy styled British comedian, Russell Brand. Leading the nominations pack, Beyonce and Lady Gaga both received nine nods, with Single Ladies and Poker Face being the focus. And Britney Spears got nominated for seven categories, including for Womanizer and Circus. Getting 4 nominations each include Kanye West, Eminem and Coldplay. The big category - Music Video of the Year - Single Ladies, Poker Face, We Made You, Love Lockdown and Womanizer. Some other nods go for Best New Artist, Female and Male Videos, Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop Videos, as well as fro Best Choreography, Direction, Editing, Special Effects, Cinematography and Art Direction. Some cool ones include Breakthrough Video and Best Video that Should Have Won a Moonman. And on to my favorite... The most explosive, exciting, entertaining part of the night includes the musical performances! Some scheduled singers and bands include Taylor Swift, Pink, Green Day and Muse. The VMAs are set to shoot Sunday, September 13th at 9pm eastern time - but there will be a slight delay incase some creative-minds get some bad ideas ...

Britney Spears Toxic
Britney Spears Toxic
Notably, the video clip is intercut with sequences of Spears with hundreds of diamonds glued to her body and wearing only a G-string. She made Kahn clear the entire set for the shoot. The scene was widely considered controversial, MTV Network thought the music video was too racy for daytime rotation and moved it to late-night rotation . We [MTV Network] always take into account what the cultural environment is on an ongoing basis. Given the particular sensitivity in the culture right now [Janet Jackson's infamous Super Bowl incident], we're erring on the side of caution for the immediate future. The music video was nominated in four categories at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Female Video, Best Dance Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year.[33] Visual effects supervisors Chris Watts and Bert Yukich were awarded for their work on "Toxic" at the 3rd Annual Visual Effects Society Awards on February 16, 2005 in the category of "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Music Video".

This video won three MTV Video Music Awards in 2002: Breakthrough Video, Best Special Effects, and Best Editing. Pitchfork Media deemed it the best video of the decade.[2] Entertainment Weekly included it on its end-of-the-decade, "best-of" list, saying, "An idea so simple it's a wonder no one thought of it before 2002: rock & roll Legos!"

JAMIROQUAI - ROCK DUST LIGHT STAR - LIVE ON JOOLS HOLLAND - HQ video
www.jamiroquai.com CHECK IT OUT Jamiroquai's first single, "When You Gonna Learn", was released in 1992 on the Acid Jazz label. Following its success, Kay signed an eight-album record deal with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. The first Sony album, Emergency on Planet Earth was released in 1993. It was followed in 1994 by The Return of the Space Cowboy. The single "Space Cowboy" gained notice on the charts and in club rotation. While Jamiroquai was growing in popularity in the UK and Western Europe, they remained relatively unknown to US and other international audiences. The band's international breakthrough came with the third album, Travelling Without Moving in 1996, which yielded two big hits, "Virtual Insanity" and "Cosmic Girl". The success of "Virtual Insanity" was due in part to its Jonathan Glazer-directed video, which featured Kay's dance moves and some physics-defying images. At the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards, the creative music video for "Virtual Insanity" won four awards, including Best Video, Best Special Effects, Best Cinematography, and Breakthrough Video. In 2003 Jamiroquai compiled and mixed a DJ mix album for the Late Night Tales series for Azuli Records. The track selection shows some of the band's funk, soul and disco influences, including tracks from The Pointer Sisters, The Commodores, Johnny "Hammond" Smith and Johnny "Guitar" Watson. The acid jazz flavours and ethnic influences of the first three albums continued with the release of Synkronized in ...
