Demise of Anglo-Indian cuisine - BBC News report by Howard Johnson
Demise of Anglo-Indian cuisine - BBC News report by Howard Johnson
The story of Indian food's success in Britain is well known, with dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala considered among the nation's favourites. But what about Britain's culinary legacy in India? During the period of British rule Indian cooks would modify western dishes by adding spices and other local ingredients. The fusion food that emerged became a staple of the country's Anglo-Indian population. Howard Johnson reports from Bangalore. With special thanks to Sohini Banerjee for the inspiration. History of the Secret Race: Anglo-Indians, a Poem by Warren Brown
History of the Secret Race: Anglo-Indians, a Poem by Warren Brown
Anglo-Indians are an ethnic minority Indian race, which originated in India, during the Colonial period. Anglo-Indians are a mixed race of British-Indian descent. When British or European men had children from Indian women, their offspring were considered to be Eurasian or Anglo-Indian. Anglo-Indians are an urban English speaking, Christian community with an English lifestyle. Anglo-Indians now live across the globe, however, their numbers are gradually decreasing in India.Warren is reading the poem from his latest book of poetry, "A Romantic Time for Rhyme and Success Poetry", listed on Amazon.
