What are RSS feeds?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow you to subscribe to the new and updated content of a website. Instead of having to continuously visit a website to check for new content, it is sent to you via a feed reader. When there is new content on the SCBD website, such as information on new CBD notifications, final reports, upcoming meetings and latest news, it appears in your reader alongside any other website feeds you have subscribed to. An RSS news feed (also known as an RSS channel) consists of a list of items, each of which contains a headline, description, and a link to web resources.

What is a feed reader?
A feed reader is your virtual notepad where the content from your subscriptions is organized. New or updated content of your favorite websites is automatically received for you. Some popular web-based RSS readers:

• Google Reader
• Newsgator
• More web-based readers

Personalized homepages like My Yahoo! and Google Homepage also allow you to subscribe and read any RSS feed. The ability to subscribe to RSS feeds is also built into browsers like Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox and software like Microsoft Outlook 2007, Google Desktop gadgets and Microsoft Gadgets.

How do I subscribe to SCBD feeds?
If you're using a feed reader, you can click on the links marked with the RSS feed symbol at the top of any page. Newer browsers like Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox make subscribing much easier by showing the RSS feed symbol either on a toolbar (IE7) or in the address bar (Firefox) indicating an available feed. Clicking on that symbol will subscribe you to the feed using your favorite reader. If you're using other software that can read RSS feeds, you can click on the links to the feeds above, copy the address and paste it into the software's request for the feed's address.
