Gibson Melody Maker - Raw Vintage Sunburst - Nevada music UK
www.nevadamusic.co.uk Resurrecting one of the most popular electric guitars in Gibson's history, the Melody Maker - shown here in a Raw Vintage Sunburst finish, is an accurate, affordable re-creation of the original Melody Makers of the late 1950s. Originally introduced as a student model, much like the Les Paul Junior, the Melody Maker became a player's favorite for its light weight, comfortable neck, and great tone. With a period-correct scratchplate housing a specially designed single coil pick-up, a vintage-style wrap-around tailpiece, rounded neck profile, and slim, light body, the Melody Maker offers great value for players of all ages, styles, and skill levels and will also appeal to lovers of guitar nostalgia ... www.nevadamusic.co.uk

1960 Epiphone Olympic/GIbson Melody Maker f/Sale Demo/Review
1960 Epiphone Olympic/GIbson Melody Maker f/Sale Demo/Review
Here's a 1960 Epiphone Olympic which IS a Gibson Melody Maker (except for the names) for you to check out. This thing is in excellent condition and is soooooo cool...wish I could keep it but again, I am (very) happy that I got to have it pass through my hands. This was the 4th take as I babbled too much and ran over the 10 minute limit 3 times...I'll post the jamming part over the loop as take 1, 2, & 3 as a video response if you are interested...I always like 1st takes when I can use them...except for about 6 minutes each of explaining the guitar, pointing out features and flaws (and playing a little bit), you can see me go from cold and stiff to more warmed up and fluid. The loop was done on my Taylor 712(E) and an Ibanez SRX3EXQM1 bass through a Boss RC20XL loop station plugged into a Marshall AS50R Acoustic amp which I also used for the playback of the loop. I'll beputting it up on eBay in a no games, no hidden reserve auction (unless someone here gets to it first...which is fine...and that has happened a few times in the past and I encourage it as eBay is getting rich enough off of me anyways). Guitars Wanted as I'm always looking for more guitars...I buy/sell/trade 'em. I'm plugged straight into my same old rig (no effects at all)...Fender Super Sonic combo with an Avatar 2x12 all loaded with 12" Hellatone 30's...I use Monster cables for the most part unless I specify something else...this was a 12' Jazz cable between the guitar and amp and a Performer 500 series ...

The Gibson Melody maker is a guitar from a bygone era, this re-issue remains faithfull to all the original features from the late 1950's. The advantage that this model has over the original is the massive step forwards acheived in the 21st century in the manufacturing and pick-up design process. Some people might call this retro-chic, but to those who remember the original it will merely be recalling a very fine model of Gibson guitar. The neck has a delightful comfortable feeling when placed against the palm and the fretboard is equally pleasing, the thin Mahogany body means that its lighter than a Les Paul and the pick-ups are soulful and bluesy and ...
