Belgium (
i/ˈbɛldʒəm/; Dutch: België 
[ˈbɛlɣijə]; French: Belgique [bɛlʒik]; German: Belgien [ˈbɛlɡiən]), officially the Kingdom of Belgium, is a sovereign state in Western Europe. It is a founding member of the European Union and hosts several of the EU's official seats and as well as the headquarters of many major international organizations such as NATO. Belgium covers an area of 30,528 square kilometres (11,787 sq mi) and has a population of about 11 million people.
Straddling the cultural boundary between Germanic and Latin Europe, Belgium is home to two main linguistic groups: the Dutch-speaking, mostly Flemish community, which constitutes about 59% of the population, and the French-speaking, mostly Walloon population, which comprises 41% of all Belgians. Additionally, there is a small group of German-speakers who live in the East Cantons located around the High Fens area, and bordering Germany.
Belgium is a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. Its two largest regions are the Dutch-speaking region of Flanders in the north and the French-speaking southern region of Wallonia. The Brussels-Capital Region, officially bilingual, is a mostly French-speaking enclave within the Flemish Region. A German-speaking Community exists in eastern Wallonia. Belgium's linguistic diversity and related political conflicts are reflected in its political history and complex system of government.

Belgian Workers Party Belgian MP Nabil Boukili confronted the Israeli ambassador to Belgium, Idit Rosenzweig Abu, in a heated exchange in the Belgian parliament on 22 October. The MP stated that the ambassador is attempting to “justify the unjustifiable”, and accused Israel of “committing genocide against the Palestinian people under the pretext of fighting terrorism”. Boukili demanded accountability for Israel’s actions before stating that Israel is “a terrorist state” and called it a “disgrace” that there are no sanctions against Israel. Belgian Workers Party Belgian MP Nabil Boukili confronted the Israeli ambassador to Belgium, Idit Rosenzweig Abu, in a heated exchange in the Belgian parliament on 22 October.
The MP stated that the ambassador is attempting to “justify the unjustifiable”, and accused Israel of “committing genocide against the Palestinian people under the pretext of fighting terrorism”.
Boukili demanded accountability for Israel’s actions before stating that Israel is “a terrorist state” and called it a “disgrace” that there are no sanctions against Israel.

ON THE FLIGHT IN, I INTERVIEWED HIM AND HE SPOKE ABOUT HOW THE GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE

UNTIL EVERYONE ELSE JOINED US AT MCDONALDS. IN THAT TIME WE REALLY JUST TALKED, AND CONNECTED. WE FED DUCKS WITH AN OLD MAN WHO SEEMED TO IGNORE US, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF GUS' LOOK. GUS SAID HE WAS USED TO THAT TREATMENT, BUT THE “DUCKS DON’T MIND” THAT REALLY STUCK WITH ME.
THE NEXT TIME I SAW HIM, AT HIS FINAL TOUR STOP BACK IN LA. HE MET MY GIRLFRIEND SYD.

This is an honest and personal experience of the negative side of living as an expat in Belgium.
You must know the positive as well as negative side of living in a country and THEN ONLY MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.
The western European culture might be very different from your home country culture, so if you have never visited and never lived in these countries be prepared to face these challenges.
I will share some of my personal observations and experiences that are indeed challenging and dark. It is not easy for anyone to fly the seven seas and settle to an altogether new place in a foreign land, its a big decision and you must know about the NEGATIVE side of living in BELGIUM, because then only you can compare the good and the bad & make an informed decision -this is based on my experience of living in Belgium through 2018-2022.

Belgian Workers Party Belgian MP Nabil Boukili confronted the Israeli ambassador to Belgium, Idit Rosenzweig Abu, in a heated exchange in the Belgian parliament on 22 October.
The MP stated that the ambassador is attempting to “justify the unjustifiable”, and accused Israel of “committing genocide against the Palestinian people under the pretext of fighting terrorism”.
Boukili demanded accountability for Israel’s actions before stating that Israel is “a terrorist state” and called it a “disgrace” that there are no sanctions against Israel.

ON THE FLIGHT IN, I INTERVIEWED HIM AND HE SPOKE ABOUT HOW THE GOTHIC ARCHITECTURE
OF THE TOWN WAS VERY CALMING TO HIM. LATER, ON OUR WAY TO SOUNDCHECK WE PASSED BY
THIS AMAZING CASTLE, AND WE WERE BOTH IMMEDIATELY STRUCK BY IT.
WE WANTED TO WANDER INSIDE, BUT IT WAS CLOSED.
I SUGGESTED WE GO BACK THE NEXT DAY, SO WE WOKE UP EARLY TO GO SEE IT,
BUT YET AGAIN, IT WAS CLOSED. SO WE LOITERED AROUND TOWN AND SMOKED BY THE CASTLE
UNTIL EVERYONE ELSE JOINED US AT MCDONALDS. IN THAT TIME WE REALLY JUST TALKED, AND CONNECTED. WE FED DUCKS WITH AN OLD MAN WHO SEEMED TO IGNORE US, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF GUS' LOOK. GUS SAID HE WAS USED TO THAT TREATMENT, BUT THE “DUCKS DON’T MIND” THAT REALLY STUCK WITH ME.
THE NEXT TIME I SAW HIM, AT HIS FINAL TOUR STOP BACK IN LA. HE MET MY GIRLFRIEND SYD.
HE CAME UP TO US WITH THAT HUGE SMILE YOU SEE IN THE NEXT SLIDE. HE IMMEDIATELY SAID TO ME, “THE DUCKS DON'T MIND” AND LAUGHED. I INTRODUCED HIM TO SYD, HE SAID “I KNOW YOU, YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOREVER, 10 YEARS RIGHT?” AND SHE LAUGHED.

On The Scene: More than 300 pumpkin lovers in northern Belgium on Sunday (October 27) grabbed the opportunity to paddle the giant hollowed-out fruits over a pond in the town of Kasterlee, marking the height of the pumpkin season with the traditional annual race. The race started in 2008 after local growers decided they needed to find a different use for their 400-plus kg pumpkins besides turning them into soup.

You must know the positive as well as negative side of living in a country and THEN ONLY MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.
The western European culture might be very different from your home country culture, so if you have never visited and never lived in these countries be prepared to face these challenges.
I will share some of my personal observations and experiences that are indeed challenging and dark. It is not easy for anyone to fly the seven seas and settle to an altogether new place in a foreign land, its a big decision and you must know about the NEGATIVE side of living in BELGIUM, because then only you can compare the good and the bad & make an informed decision -this is based on my experience of living in Belgium through 2018-2022.

Belgium has, to me, always been a country I know exists, but I hardly knew anything about. So when my mom and I were figuring out where to go for our trip at the end of the summer, Belgium really stood out for its picturesque architecture and fairytale vibes. In this vlog, we see for ourselves. Come with us to Brussels, Ghent, and Bruges in this vlog encompassing the first half of our trip. Belgium is a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. Its two largest regions are the Dutch-speaking region of Flanders in the north and the French-speaking southern region of Wallonia. The Brussels-Capital Region, officially bilingual, is a mostly French-speaking enclave within the Flemish Region. A German-speaking Community exists in eastern Wallonia. Belgium's linguistic diversity and related political conflicts are reflected in its political history and complex system of government.
